  1. i have a 1994 4 door r33 RB25DET and i have been trying to wire in 2 interior neons under my driver and passenger dash.. i have wired them into the headlight 12v wire and earthed them to a bolt thats attaching the chassy, all good this works fine.. but i tried to wire in a toggle switch so i can manually switch the neons off if i got pulled over by a cop (because i'm pretty sure its illegal to have neons?) i realized this wasn't going to work because the headlight wire would keep my neons on no matter what because its being powered straight from the battery so i took the neon wires off the headlight wire and found a random wire that was 12v and the neons worked when i put my accessories on but when i tried to wire in the switch i must of done something wrong and put double the power to the neons and it started smoking a little bit under the ignition so i took all of that apart because obviously it wasn't a good thing, then wired my neons back to the headlight cable and thought id leave it at that until i work out how to do it properly.. now the only lights that work inside my car are my hazard lights, air conditioner unit, cigarette lighter, indicators and all the speedometer lights like hicas, fuel light, handbrake light etc.. nothing else works properly, CD player doesn't work my clock works but it is really really faint and the sounds my car makes like the reminder that i left my headlights on works but it is also very faint i can only just hear it.. every one of my fuses are good i have checked and double checked and triple checked the the fuses in the boot the dash and under the hood.. is there a chance i have like burnt out a few wires or something like that? also if anyone was wondering my headlights, high beams, indicators, breaks, tail lights, everything on the outside of my car work fine its just a few lights inside... also to save sending another thread, does anyone know what i can do to wire in a toggle switch for my neons? i cant seem to find a good website that explains it good.. id like to wire them into the headlights so they come on only at night when i have my headlights on but i want to make it so that i can switch the neons off and keep the headlights on whenever i want... if thats not possible id like to just set it up so that they only come on when i manually switch them on? any help would be great.... thanks for reading this and id really appreciate any help coz i'm a bit lost the internet doesn't tell me shit about a skyline....

  3. nope it's a manual, i think at some stage it was an auto tho because the gear stick center peice is an auto one and it has a short shifter, when i said 3000-3500 revs i actually meant 2000-2500 revs as well..mybad
  4. i recently bought an r33, rb25det, its been sitting for 6-8 months doing nothing before i bought it and i still cant drive it yet as it is unregistered, on start up there is generally allot of smoke but after i drive it the smoke tends to dissapear (this could be because i live in the coldest part of australia). when im in 1st gear my car runs like gold but my main concern is what happens when im anywhere within 2nd and 4th gear, the car like gets to 3000-3500 revs then it will just idle (wont get any faster even tho i push the excelerator down further) if i excelerate really slow it works but whats the point of having a turbo charger car if thats the case... im not sure if the smoke could have something to do with this maybe there is water in the system? any ideas?
  5. I'm looking at buying a 1994 4 door r33 that is turbo'd I was wondering what has to be done to remove the turbo for 12 months until I get off my green p's etc what parts should I get and how much would it estimately cost me to remove the turbo so I can legally drive it. Cheers, Aaron
  6. im trying to convert my 1993 model r33 gts from 4 stud wheel hubs to 5 stud wheel hubs i have brought the front hubs and uprights and the back hubs both in 5 stud, im not sure what to do now and what else i need to buy before pulling everything apart as my car will be off the road, (i have searched google 1000 times and i cant find anything that doesnt involve s13,s14,s15 and 180sx hubs this is specifically about r33 skylines 4 stud to 5 stud nothing from any other cars), if anyone has done this before and can tell me exactly what i need to do please add me on msn so i can explain in detail what i want to do or reply to this forum or email me ([email protected]) im online whenever im not at work.. p.s sorry about all the forums i've posted about this its making me crazy coz there is no info on the web that i can find, just need a lil professional help.. cheers this is the pictures of what i brought so far on ebay front hubs & uprights rear hubs
  7. im doing a 5 stud hub conversion on me r33 i have purchased front 5 stud hubs and uprights and back 5 stud hubs, was just wondering if i will need to buy new discs or can i drill my existing 4 stud discs so that they fit? is that even legal? what else do i need to buy before getting the conversion done by a mechanic?
  8. yeah i have to drive 12 kays to get to work on the highway at 110km/h and it always comes on within the first 2 or 3 mins of driving over 100 km/h but i do have an aftermarket wheel with a boss kit.. is it worth getting a lockbar do they change enough to notice a difference?
  9. i heard some guys talking at work saying that p platers in voctoria can have a turbo but not a v8, i have searched everywhere it seems like vic roads doesnt want us to know about this if it's true.... does anyone have a turbo and currently on there victorian green p's or does anyone know the rules guaranteed????? cheers

  11. i have a 93' R33 and it came standard with 4 stud hubs which really pisses me off when it comes to choosing a new set of wheels because its hard to find good wheels with 4 holes... how much would it be to get a set of rear and front 5 stud hubs, where can i buy them and how much would it approx cost me to get it all put togethor... and if anyone could give me some advice on wheel brands and what is good and how big i could go at the max and all that it would be a great help...
  12. who would remove it tho? i dont live anywhere near the city so there are no real experienced people when it comes to imported cars, my local nissan dealer knows jack shit about skylines because its more of a 4x4 dealerwould a local mechanic know about HICAS and how to correctly remove it?

  14. i have only had my car for about 6 weeks, as far as i can tell the steering wheel is your standard skyline wheel the guy i brought it off had every intention to keep the car as stock as possible so i think it is the origional wheen but i'll take it off this arvo and scope it all out...

My HICAS light comes on when i go past 100 killometers like on the freeway for example then when i switch my car off then back on again it is off, anyone got any ideas? my car still runs exactly the same when the light comes on its a bit of a mystery and i dont want to pay to get it looked at if its nothing...
