  1. the only problem is who has my address?, i dont have my internet run off my phone line so they couldnt track my IP, i use a usb router that runs anywhere in australia as long as its plugged in, another thing is, the photos taken are at my dads house, and all my mail gets delivered there, i live with my mum, in a different house. they may be able to find what address my plates are registed to but not where i live, besides who would go to that much trouble to steal a series 1 r33 when theres so many better cars around.
  2. lets be honest here, I park my car & my mums car in a garage, close the heavy duty sliding door & deadlock it on the inside with 2 heavy duty padlocks (its not a crappy roller door it's a solid welded metal sliding door), there's no other way in, apart from through the house, which my bedroom is about a meter away from the garage door, not to mention the padlock keys are in my room 24/7 so going through the house would change nothing for the theif anyway. there is no way into that shed apart from pulling the the bricks out one by one & even if they did that they wouldn't be able to get the car out the side of the garage, the car will remain unstolen unless they took to the garage door with an angle grinder but that wont happen & if it did i would get myself, my mother and half the street to see a doctor for hearing problems. if someone got my car out of the garage i park it in, without me knowing about it somehow, then i believe in magic. SLEEPR85, yeah i have been keeping a lookout on the net especially, for a yellow r33 sedan, i haven't actually asked him what mods it had, i'm pretty sure it was just a standard Series 1 GTS25 with nothing else done to it, chances are that car is now a bunch of cars & painted a different colour/s, its like finding a needle in a hay stack, if anyone comes across a yellow R33 Series 1 sedan PM me & ill check it out.. cheers.
  3. i understand exactly what your saying, the internet is a huge help, a year ago i bought my first r33 gts25, didn't know anything about the engine, didn't know what anything was called, i probably couldn't even point out the air filter, now after signing up to websites (like this), watching youtube videos & especially watching engine build threads on certain websites, i have a much better understanding of what everything is called and what it does. for example with my "putting a turbo back in" thread i obviously learnt a valuable lesson from a bad choice & fixed the problem myself with the help of others, now i could do that any time i want with ease. i think i was more getting to the fact that it would be really interesting if there was a video from start to finish of "how to build an engine", i'd enjoy watching it to pick up little things. but oh well allot of people on skylines australia to help. the mechanic i use to go to is handy because he has good tools that are usefull like big spanners that bunnings don't sell for example, borrowed a bit of stuff when i was putting my turbo back in, id rather do things first hand then read out of a book i hate reading anyway, thats why i was hoping for a video
  4. thats random, i sold sajid_arif those wheel hubs like a month ago, apparently they got damaged in the post, seems like they must be alright now, i bet they were always alright he just decided he didnt want them anymore so tried to make an excuse for refund. LOL
  5. yeh it seemed easy enough, getting that back bolt back on was an effort, what does this unit do, i cant actually tell if it works now :S.
  6. yeah i just want to learn anything and everything, nothing in particular, i want to build a good understanding so i can tackle a big majority of problems/modifications when they need doing, its more so because its a little hobby i have i dont want to become a mechanic or anything im just generally interested. ill check out the website thanks for that, i thought as there is a trade to become a mechanic there might be videos of really "into detail" stuff, looks like books might be the way to go.

  8. what you just explained is exactly what my car does i went and had a look, i mustn't notice it that much coz i turned my ignition on & off like 5 times before and it clicked like 20 times then stopped, each time.. never happens when im driving, by the way i have a series 1 r33 can i still do this midification to stop the clicking?
  9. i was thinking, i am really interested in RB engines & still learning new things all the time, i was wondering if anyone knows if there is any kind of video tutorial or mechanics video that i could download/buy that runs through everything to do with an RB engine, im sure other young minds could benefit from knowing about this as well.. i dont mean like youtube flicks, im talking a whole video explaining it all? thanks in advance if anyone knows of anything.
  10. my car makes a clunking noise from around the head unit area, it doesnt keep on going tho it happens just after starting up the car 'sometimes' and only happens like 4 or 5 times, are we on the same page here or is my noise something different?.. it also beeps 3 times (i thought this was the immobiliser but i had this removed and it remains).
  11. i guess but im pretty sure safari costs to run unless you are running through a wireless adaptor, apps are free to use with 3G, just an idea
  12. if Skylines Australia had an iPhone App, that would be cool, and a possibly profit could be made for every download. i mean who doesnt have an iphone these days.
  13. how much for just the factory coil pack loom for r33 gts-t series 1 without the ignition module?
  14. the wire harness that has 6 clips on it that clip into the coil packs, im not after the ignition module just the actual loom its self.
  15. im after an R33 Series 1 Ignition Lead for the coil packs/spark plugs, if anyones wrecking a series 1 R33 or simply has a spare lead lying around id very much appreciate it as im desperate.. thanks.
  16. i've already disconnected the -ve pumped the brake for a good few mins, reconnected the -ve & took it for a 40 kay drive up the highway, still running much the same, like i said buddy i know nothing about getting a car tuned, a friend once told me that he got his ecu tuned & it made the car run great, petrol was good etc, i wont be spending anymore then $500 on this car for everything before sale so i guess a new ecu/tune is out of the question. how do i tell if the oxygen sensor is shabby? i just read on another forum in google that Ford EL Falcon oxygen sensors fit perfectly and are much cheaper is this fact?
  17. i know nothing at all about getting an ECU tuned, the way i picture it in my head, over time cars dont run the same as they once did, therefore you get it tuned right? so this seems like it would be a common thing that your everyday person (who dont worry about performance) would pay to get done, it seems like $900 is a bit rich to make your cars computer system run a little better if i may say so myself? my head is telling me it wouldnt be a great deal of work for such a small thing? or is it a big job? i really dont know.. i dont even know if the car needs a tune like when i start it up it chugs 1 or 2 more times then normal when im turning the motor over & its hard to tell but just seems like it doesnt have as much kick as normal whilst driving, like its quite hard to drive i have to make sure i change gears early to prevent the revs going all the way down to 0 and my car stalling, then when i go to park, turn off the ignition, theres no chuggle its instant, 1 second running .001 second later not running, its clumsy like i've just disturbed it whilst i was driving it, now its pissed off and wants to go back to sleep again. also my gearbox has gotten very very tight, extremely tight since putting the turbo back in, its physically hard to put it into gear now, i've checked the clutch its still pumping fine, no pedal lag, no need for bleeding it anyway. so should i get a tune or perhaps just do a bit of maintenance, change oil/filter, fuel filter, tighten a few things etc?
  18. what do you mean by spirited drive?, i just took my car for a drive out to work which is like 20 kays up the highway, seems to be guzzling fuel, it done this while the turbo was gone but before it was taken out it was really good on fuel, so one would think now the turbos back togethor it would be good on fuel again.. how much to get my car tuned just so everythings running properly? not like a crazy $900 tune? coz im looking at selling it asap.
  19. cars still running alright, smokes dissapeared completely, it gets hot allot quicker but never goes over half way, there is one thing thats annoying me when i slow down for an intersection go to third then second then turn, sometimes it stalls like i can have my clutch all the way in and the car shuts off & i turn the key to restart whilst still rolling and continue on in 2nd gear, also the other day when i first drove it after i put the turbo in it was possible to change gears without the blow off valve sounding (slight touch of boost), now i have to rev it right out because it runs really low revs for what speed im doing, for instance i sit on 2000 rpm or a tad under when im going 60 thats a really strange feeling to me.. possibly a tune?
  20. if i cant stop the sound of the compressed air getting released back into the system then i guess i've got no choice but to keep it, im more worried about the 'dying the sphincter of the universe' sound tut tut tut tut etc.. id be happy with one 'chhhhh'
  21. while were on the topic, where can i get a stock plumb back BOV? i have a 'turbosmart plumb back' & really not a fan of the sound, i want to be able to change gears & not be looked at by every person walking there dog. there hard to find i looked on ebay, nothing.. my 'turbosmart plumb back' is set up on the turbo side pipe from the intercooler, has a round hole where it slides on & a nipple with a tube running off it where the air gets released back into the system, can i put a stock BOV on there replacing it or would i have to do a bit of modifying? here is a pic.. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?...imageID=3010801 i'll be selling the 'turbosmart BOV' as well so if anyones keen PM me
  22. cars running really good, hits boost at about 3500 rpm, so much smoother & easier to drive, wow.
  23. alright, it does seem to be getting less & less every time i run the car, thanks allot, if i have any other problems ill post it, kinda scared to go for a drive ust incase something happens lol. even tho i know ive done everything correct.
  24. alright everything is done, no leaks, everythings been double checked & tightened well. car seems to run great, however there is 1 thing that i am slightly concerned about, after about a min of running a light smoke comes from around the turbo area, i had it running for 10 mins like that & the temperature guage did not move past half way. i was thinking about something 'mad082' said a while ago about disconnecting something & turning the engine over to get the oil into the turbo lines before actually starting the car, how do i do this? i cant find the post for the life of me.. cheers.
