I got a huge amount of loyalty points at Nengun which i was gonna cash in, but i had to cancel the order this morning as my piece of shit Ford Fairlane is on its last legs and i think these hot summer days are gonna be the death of it, couldn't be f**ked spending money on it either. Looks like i'll be ordering my new car sooner than I wanted too. So i have to hold back on the 180 for a little while .

  4. Yeah buddy RHD Japan sell Brand new SR20VET P11 or P12 heads. Looks like i'll be ordering one very soon.
  5. Peterson 4 stage pump arrived today, already stripped it down to check its condition appears to be all tip top.
  6. 1. I got a really good deal on the Ikeya Formula Gear ended up costing me a lil bit less then what the PBM parts would have been worth. 2. I'm not a V8 kinda person, I'm a import person + not allowed V8's in WTAC (2012 rules, 2013 rules have not been released) and all the fastest cars use either SR20's, 4G63's or Rotaries. RB's and 2JZ are too heavy. 3. I have not ruled out a VET head, trying to source one without buying a complete engine is a little bit difficult at the moment they are in such high demand. 4. Aim of the car is to be as light as possible my target is 1000kg, which is possible with a power figure of 600-700rwhp as Eastern Creek requires big HP. Nemo is running 900HP and Scorch has 800HP. My car car will be not up to their caliber nor is my driving technique that great. But i'm gonna try my damn hardest to make this car as competitive as possible. Have done is so far with the R32 Drag Car, can't see why I can't do the same with this car. I have not quite 2yrs to complete this car mostly by myself, gonna be a mammoth task hopefully pull it off.

  8. Yeah I'm a sucker for Bargins lol. Nah just wanna get my car rolling so I can put it on a trailer and take it the old boys to start on the cage and chassis welding. I got the shits with all the stock parts laying around my house so I done a trip to the dump so I have no suspension parts.
  9. I know I said I wasn't gonna buy em but I did just order the whole Ikeya Formula Suspension Catalogue set-up for my 180SX, every arm,bush etc. Gotta have the best of the best on my ride lol now I'm really poor. No more shopping for at least 3 months now .
  10. Yeah dunno got weigh up the cost of a new head or just do solid lifter conversion and get the head ported out to within a inch of it's life. Don't wanna do a engine conversion as I don't wanna mess the balance up of the car + want it to weigh as less as possible. See how I go gotta do some more research.

  13. Trying to find a SR20 Neo VVL head for my engine so I can punch out more HP, damn near impossible to find one with out buying the whole engine . So if you know where I can get one let me know. Gonna pull the engine apart soon for a full rebuild just to make sure it can handle the power I want, new bearings, rings etc. Get the crank balanced and heat treated and order a bigger turbo for the beast. I want nothing less than 600rwhp and the gearbox ...well have to suck up to the wife to see if I can get a 6 speed sequential when the time comes.

  15. Looks like I am going to be running Brembo Brakes off a Nascar just waiting for old mate in the USA to get back to about shipping. They are the ducks nuts One piece monoblock calipers with titanium pistons, Big Piston 4 pot fronts 330mm rotors front and Small Piston 4 Pot Rears 300mm Rotors. Surprisingly cheap just have to get custom dog bones and lightweight rotors made, no biggie. Can't wait to test these out gonna put me through the windscreen.
  16. Yeah my old man spoke to John from UAS and he said most time attack Silvia's just run stock brembo system but the car has to be light. I am running a Tilton pedal box with dual brake reservoirs so will have plenty of grunt.
  17. I Run Redline Oil in the R32 Drag Car gearbox as per recommended by everyone one I have ever talked to. Seems to be pretty good stuff a lil expensive but hey its a $11k gearbox so its gotta have the best.
  18. Yeah I've worked for Thiess before they are pretty tight fisted. Lowest paid in the Bowen basin.
  19. I'm having a tuff choice on a braking package for my 180sx. I can't run my existing AP Racing Brake package i had on my GTR as it is huge and bit too heavy and won't fit behind my wheels. I have decided to sell them to Jordan for his GTR which will look pretty deadly. At the moment i will be running R33 GTR 2 piston Brembo's on the rear which is cool as the car will probably weigh anything from 1000-1150kg. So big brakes are over kill. For the front I really wanted to Run the new Brembo GT-R 4 pot 355mm Billet/Monoblock with Titanium Pistons package as used on professional race cars but it retails for $7K which is worth more than what i paid for the car. AP's, Endless, Alcon and Project Mu range from $4-5K for a similar package again bit to steep. I have been doing research on the Wilwood SLR Calipers which are identical layout to AP's and are over half the Price about $2K. Now big choice cause the car doesn't weigh much and it will only be doing a few laps at a time, will the Wilwoods be a viable purchase as you don't see many time attack cars with them.
  20. I'm on lifestyle roster 5-4-5-4 etc it's even time so i only work half the year. As for the apprenticeship is up to you man, you have to consider is it worth having no money for 3-4 yrs, and then are you guaranteed a higher paying job like on a mine site or similar at the end of it. I can't really give advice on this I've never had a town job or done anything besides diesel fitting, I've always been on a mine site since i was 16 and i am used to living out of a suitcase. But is always good to have a trade at the end of the day. Do it Kent

  24. Doesn't matter we don't have E85 on pump anyways it's a pointless endeavour at the moment might as well stick to 98ron fuel for street car.
  25. On stock standard car, sure it probably works great. On hi-po turbo engine say like an RB26 making about 500-600hp like majority of street tuned GTRs, personally I would not be running that system too many variables and constant checking of the tunes is probably required. Ah I don't care anymore do what's you's want I'll just stick to building my race cars.
