  1. Probably all sick of seeing R35's by now but here's mine anyway Nice to have it home....
  2. On way to dealer now also!
  3. funny how variable they can all be! had different quotes from same company 2 days running when i lost the quote number from day 1. happy to say the second quote was better thanks npr35, I finally went with AAMI rental car, 1 windscreen replacement per annum Single vehicle insured (no multivehicle discount), financed Agreed value including 12k of HRE 590R wheels with some crazy dish....... kept stockies for dreams of track days when i get a chance. 34 yo, rating 1 protected, wilston brisbane, private use, no km restriction $2050 excess $1561 premium $1550 excess $2169 premium -----> went with this one in the end $1050 excess $2600 premium $550 excess $3008 premium Picking up car in 21 hrs and 40 minutes, not that I am counting or anything......
  4. Thanks Chris, will call next week.
  5. Anyone able to recommend who I should use in Brisbane to do some work on my R35? I'm after a Sat Nav hack/solution and rear view camera/sensors. Thanks
  6. you also might want to leave the plastic on the seats for the first few days.....
  7. thanks Baron, agree must be the usage and previous history with them. tried, suncorp after someones suggestion, came in at 2600 daily driver (3000 with rental car and windscreen replacement option) 1700 excess. looking the best right now
  8. good driving record no claims or infringements last 5 years no at fault claims no claims last 5 years a number of other vehicles insured with shannons nil so lose out there but not by $1000's, I suspect this will get you 10% off garaged in a secure garage and in a low risk suburb low risk suburb and enclosed in secure garage super low usage average about 8000k/year, might be the problem, not sure what super low is though this isn't super high either youngest driver over 25 youngest driver 34. I will call the manager there to discuss to see if they can do better, will see. I have never insured with them before either though Also approaching nissan but not holding my breath. Thanks for the help
  9. I am rating 1 protected with porsche precision driving courses under my belt now (I can hear the jokes coming already) and have quotes from Shannons of $3900/yr with $1900 excess as a daily driver garaged in a good suburb in Brisbane, similar with others. What conditions have you got that has ensured the price reduction do you think? low usage? multiple vehicles with same company? Negotiated with the vendor?
  10. Agree. Although I am only a new member, I have noticed there has been plenty of negative speculation about it arriving etc (yes I realise you all have nissan stories of woe to tell) Great to see more positive posts as the ADM cars arrive. My delivery is now Wednesday next week. I envy you 'Snowy'!
  11. Great news. Must have been tough leaving it there!
  12. I suspect Martin knows the oil intimately!
  13. stop teasing, you're breaking my heart
  14. thanks. will keep an eye open on the forums for he next meet. I will have my 590R's coming in from the states in 5 weeks, so maybe after those are on and rolling (and my wife's shock has eased....) All this excitement must seem a bit old hat to those who have had their JDM R35's for some time now! I have never personally even seen one of the imports yet so my first look will be when I see my car!
  15. Delivery date for me is 11th April (Easter Saturday) Possibly will be ready a day or two earlier but I will be unavailable and that friday is Good Friday. The dealership has been kind enough to loan me a car for the 3 weeks between selling my 540 and the delivery of the GTR.
  16. Hopefully the recent junket down to melbourne where they thrashed those super silver GTR's got that out of their system. I have already told them I would be very unhappy to see any evidence of inappropriate usage of my car prior to delivery. Some of the NAGTROC forum posts state 20-30 miles on the car at delivery as the upper limit of the norm. Seems like a lot. I am told they have some km's on the clock from testing before they leave Japan?
  17. Nice plates back at you! The ppq flexi plates if installed correctly look pretty damn good to (adhesives can ruin the backing if not done right). Although the car is at the docks the dealers are still very ambiguous about the exact delivery date. Frustrating, thinking of my baby sitting there all by herself when she should be getting some luvin'
  18. My car is at the docks in Brisbane as of late last night, gunmetal premium. Just a week or so from getting it now. Plates have arrived from PPQ. PLating a car with the vehicle name is not to everyones taste i know but I'm a big fan so here they are...
  19. Would definitely like to know. This would help make the decision to start investigating alternate options more thoroughly if certain aspects of servicing are way overpriced. Some areas of servicing such as fluid and brake changes are a definite candidate for using alternate products and service providers. would appreciate a pm if you are able to get your hands on this and don't mind sharing. thanks
  20. Adam from 'The Tuners Group' sorted me out for the HRE's BTW. Put up with a long decision making process. Thanks mate.
  21. I have no track experience so please excuse my ignorance. Is it the reduced unsprung mass of an 18" wheel that improves the time or the better range of tyres. If better tyres are coming at 20" I'll keep the stock wheels for the track (just ordered some HRE 590R 20" 9.5 front and 11 rear as a street wheel). Otherwise I will sell the stockers and go the rays RE30 (popular on NAGTROC as stated above) or similar. I will not be tracking as hard as others posted above but would like to get out every 3-4 months. I realise that the biggest impediment to fast track times in this car currently is me. working on that. Any guys in Brisbane/SEQ looking to get their R35's out and about? would love to hook up for track days/ exchange/experience etc.
  22. +1, live in wilston brisbane.
  23. Ok so let me get this straight. If you don't service the car yourself and then pay for the dealer to do it, you are an idiot? Reality check here boys. Next time you feel a heart attack coming on, try going into your bathroom cabinet and solving the problem yourself with a band aid and some Detol. Oh wait, you would go to hospital and get it sorted out wouldn't you? Try to realise that we are not all budding mechanics. Personally I would love the time to play with the car in my garage more but other things in life get in the way. Doesn't mean I can't get as much enjoyment form the car as anyone else. Being positive about this then, anyone able to suggest a sensible place in Brisbane to service the vehicle reliably to avoid the seemingly inevitable rip off?
  24. Agree, a high premium will be charged, and perhaps inappropriately so. Lets wait and see. I too will consider giving Nissan the one strike and you're out policy. I do however get sick of hearing the Nissan hysteria re transmission, launch control, servicing and so on. My point is that the same price premium applies to all makes of 'supercars' and luxury models. We shouldn't expect Nissan to be any different unfortunately. This doesn't make it right of course and if I can work on alternatives through the power of knowledge shared in forums such as this then great. All the better if I am supporting independent guys whilst at it.
