loose battery connector according to 'XXXV' on the forum

more GTR owners would admit to wanting to own a porsche than visa versa I think.... less snobbery also, GTR owners dont have to justify the extra 250k to their wives so as a group are probably more relaxed about our purchase, although there are some pretty nutty GTR fanboys out there on the web and these long rants prove it!

most quality tyre places in Brisbane offer it at a cost so assume the same in Melbourne Filling tyres with Nitrogen is a load of BS anyway with any benefits probably only measurable in labs, not in the real world of joe average. I would give it a miss, there are more benefits from ensuring you are running correct pressures than concerning yourself with the elemental makeup of the air in your tyre!

^Agree, I reverse out of my driveway faster than they got that car off the line
-
thanks Baron, just the info I was after.

agree with all of the above re unsprung weight, gearing, wall stiffness/profiles compounds available etc. there are so many variables that the easiest comparison is simply how the 2 different setups compare on the track and the relative value and track life of each. seems not too many ADM guys have the dunlops for comparison, any JDM guys out there have experience with the dunlops?
-
I have heard here and on other forums how the 18 inch with RE55s or similar perform quite well relative to the bridgestones. anyone know how the setup compares to the stock 20 inch dunlops? I am able to import the dunlops at a reasonable price (600-650 aus) as people have noted in the thread. are these similar in price to local Aus 18 inch RE55 rubber prices? if so, is the 18 inch setup that much faster than the dunlops and does the RE55 SR2 compound have that much longer track life? lots of questions i know but about to bite the bullet one way or another before the NFY.

haha, will try and get it past the treasury dept. Wild thing phoned me today from the sunshine coast. sounds like he couldnt be happier with it.

R manual is the go for sure. Changing down to 1st in Auto is a good reason to get off your lazy ass and use the paddles when not in traffic. Snowy, I have to get that midpipe. Are you happy with it? I dont want to piss off the neighbourhood if you know what I mean.
-
out driving tonight, using manual R mode the entire time. had an absolute blast blipping up and down the box, even at normal street speeds. It is very addictive
-
ah good to see, there is much to love about this car despite some of its shortcomings.

Have been discussing this with the guys at Von Bibra on the GC. They seem keen to team up with Moorooka to get some track days going. Potential benefits there for those amongst us who are not regular track attendees. Also opportunity to get the servicing costs down with the 'track inspections' Any guys here in SE Qld looking to get their R35s out on the track? For those with ADM R35s who are already tracking the car, are you participating in the pre/post track day inspections or have you blown them away?
-
I think I have the solution, find 200-300k cash (what you might have saved on a Porsche turbo or Ferrari) and either spend it on getting the car where you want it standards wise or buy something nice for your misses, you might get lucky and relax a little! Just kiddin buddy. I too have noticed the difference in fit and finish to my 540i, the car more than makes up for it in bang for your buck though. You are paying for R and D, techno wizardry and not paying much for it compared to it's competitors. Go track the car so you and it can bond a little

Got the car back on Tuesday and had a rattle from the left ?under the car, was a loose bolt for the panels under the car. service guy kindly drove to brissi to spend 2 minutes identifying and fixing it for me. They take the panels under the car off during servicing so will probably happen to people from time to time. hopefully useful info for others if you get a sharp almost metallic sounding rattle/vibration in the car. check under by tapping the panels in various locations to identify. I did this but not centrally enough to uncover the loose bolt in question

will keep thread up dated on level of service for your decision. alternatively pm me when decision time comes
-
I seriously doubt he will thrash this thing more than I will

sure do know moorooka are there but trying to remain loyal for now to the selling dealership and see what I get back (30 min to Moorooka for me, 60 to GC). they seem very eager to do what it takes to keep me there even after blunt discussions about track use, servicing costs, alternate oils, brakes, warranty BS etc. Basically trying to develop a relationship with them. If no dice, I tell them I'm off to Moorooka or a third party independent. They currently are being good though have yet to test the waters seriously, REgarding them driving it, they break the car they pay for the car. I think they are suitably careful. only the dedicated service guy and the manager are ever to drive it. strategy may end up all pear shaped but thought it worth a try

19 x 10 and 19 x 11 setup with either R888 or hoosier R6 is very popular in NA. people seem very happy with hoosier performanc ein the NAGTROC and other forums dont worry not buying the cast wheels. looking at the volk re30's in 19 as above, good light strong forged wheel set of 4 19 inch hoosiers to 295f and 315r fit 19 x 10 and 19 x 11 wheels costs $1300 US. with shipping and tax etc to add on top of that, still a great price. Seems these 19 inch tyres are more aggressive than the RE55 and ?not anymore expensive? Is a tyre this aggressive a bad idea for a track beginner? Duncan how many track hours/sessions you getting out of the RE55s? happy for blunt advice If this looks good, anyone else interested in a 19 inch setup for group buy? http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?sh...=30523&st=0
-
haha thanks for the heads up looking to go with the Rays/Volk racing forged monoblocks, more expensive as the Baron suggests but a good wheel
-
what hweels are you going with? i am looking for a track wheel set up. 18 inch enkei GTC01 or 18 inch work wheels XD9 (jaxquickfit sell these) also enquiring through Mike Bratcher from NAGTROC (bulletproof automotive - good reputation) re a set of Volks RE 30 19 inch rims (10 inch front, 11 inch rear) Mike recommends Hoosier R6 over the Toyo 888 in 19 inch, apparently more aggerssive and same roling daimater on the 19inch wheels front and back $1300 per set + shipping USD of course Volks are $4000 USD for 19s. Anyone have experience or know of the Hoosier R6?

yeah the 370Z is not a bad little car. tough to assess though after stepping out of the GTR just as with the GTR, I think the 370Z looks better in the flesh, really nice proportions not sure why the sat nav in this car isnt in the GTR though
-
Just sent off the GTR to Von Bibra at the Gold coast for the 2k POS. The service Manager drove up from there to pick up my car in Brisbane and dropped off a new 370Z. I suspect trips beyond Brisbane though will be too far for them according to guys from the sunshine coast who have purchased from there. They have so far been very helpful and eager to please. will post how the experience goes. Mentioned track servicing and they actually feel the obligations are a bit much and seem open to discussion on this etc Here is a pic of the Z car. It is certainly getting some attention on just its first trip out, though that might have something to do with the fact it is canary yellow. Missing my GTR already though....

check with Chris Rogers on this forum

was that pre or post price rise?
-
I really hope that is not the only avenue available...
