    Buying A R35

transmission failures are probably over reported. having said that, the full price for 'repair' is misleading as nissan only appear to do swap outs. perhaps Martin can chime in here with his experience in the cost of transmission failure repairs. the cost of tracking the car (if you are into that) with nissan over a couple of years before the warranty expires probably negates the benefit of the potential cost savings of the warranty to some extent. some of this may depend on how you negotiate servicing with the dealer, track frequency and other factors. be aware though, once bitten by the performance/track bug, you will be spending more money on consumables and performance parts than on a tranny as many on this forum can attest to!

Duncan you have inspired me to harden up and screw the nissan warranty in view of some track work this year I think it's great guys getting into the track work and basic maintenance themselves this thread got me thinking what I would do when I have a tool around under the car next month I have on order some 5T truck jack stands (pin not ratchet) for work with the wheels off and some wooden blocks for under the wheels similar to below for whilst working under the car. will let you know how I go when i get my shite together

  11. how do these seats go re: CAMS/FIA for events
  12. Technocraft, nice work slip. I have been a fan of these seats since first seeing them in the Steve's Lambo Being that light and yet still comfortable, fantastic. they look awesome too, I bet even better in the flesh!
  13. As much as I love my car, I do long for a built R32 or similar in the garage for occasional fun. something about a car you have put together that inspires me. Dont look at the build threads on this forum otherwise you might start getting ideas like I have. The same would go for other 'supercars' or exotics though. Having said that I enjoy getting into the R35 every arvo after work for even the shortest of trips home.
  14. looking to buy my R35 a little brother (R32) for christmas
  15. take a picture
  16. there simply isn't 200k worth of fit and finish improvements nor grand tourer capabilities that the audi offers over and above the GTR and its cost/performance. I love the audi but not at that price.
  17. thanks Jeff
  18. like SS8 Gohan says... you cant get a magical one off product to do the job. It takes hard work to get a perfect mirror finish with the right prep (cleaner paste and clay bar), the right polishing compounds and a DA polishing device/assorted pads (I use the festool rotex 150). You then need to maintain it with your choice of sealant and waxes (I use both a sealant and wax for extra deep shine). Then you need to be careful washing the car to minimise swirling, I use a foam cannon after rinsing. this is probably more than most are willing to do. good sources of info to start with are: autogeek autopia
  19. thanks for sharing. Anyone know if they are they available in aus anywhere or are they import only?
  20. LOL "No disrespect, but Im just going to say something disrespectful" Nice build, and good thread. Keep it coming.
  21. agree, if they had performed as people suggested there would be good data out there by now but there is nothing. funny thing is the vendors keep selling them to GTR owners as the tire of choice to stick on all their aftermarket wheels, track and street! people really have a hang up with the dunlops being runflats that they just cant get over for some reason - they mustn't be cool.
  22. I reckon if its your daily driver, then ADM If not, buy JDM and go nuts on it
  23. I have just finished reading this thread, congrats on a beautiful build! I feel the need to embark on a long and expensive journey now curse you...... A stock R35 has nothing on the heart and soul of your car.
