  1. if your rolling diameters are the same and the wheels have appropriate pressure I wouldnt worry. If the traction control or AWD system lights come on though it is a different story
  2. is that the one tellling you the tpms malfunction? yours is JDM right? if you have 19 inch wheels and tyres which I assume are without the tpms you will get the code sooner or later as the car cant communicate with the tpms sensors in the stock wheels you have taken off.
  3. anyone here a gun on the vbox at working out how to set up steering angle input from the CAN? I have 2 horizontal bar graphs next to each other bit hard to explain in words but here i go... one on the left (to track turning the wheel left of centre) has the bar graph traveling from centre (right to left) but I cant get the min max values sorted (I would have thought min value 0 and max negative 500 degrees opposite to the other graph but it wont allow a max with a value less than the min) one on the right travels from left tot right and is working well with min angle 0 to max 500 degrees otherwise have all the other can inputs for brake/throttle and rpm working well! this thing is so configurable its awesome. if only I was as smart as it. will post some video once I get this sorted and track the car may 12
  4. Thanks Dunc, will try again whoever decided to save 10 bucks on the usb connection needs a bullet!
  5. speaking of longer studs etc, I am tring to work out what I will need for the 18 x 10 wheels I will have delivered soon. These will be same offsets to suit the front on all four corners so will tuck in a bt on the rear- maybe worse than what your enkeis did dunc? any thoughts on spacers? I have never used them before. I take it hubcentric spacers are safe at the track and I would just keep the stock length studs? anyone know of failures from well made/designed sets?
  6. mind you if i did as many track days as Dunc I would probably have a serious case of RSI from changing the wheels that often
  7. agree. not much more time/effort to do by hand.
  8. thanks for the scene Seb I have the CAN module hooked up. The Vbox lite version only has 4 channels available so I am logging Brake and throttle pedal pressure, RPM and steering angle I have had Chris from Audio express hardwire the CAN, power and conceal allthe cables to camera mojunting positions. nice setup. also getting video output to the MFD which will be handy! Tip for those as new to this as me: dont unplug the unit whilst it is powered up and hooked into the CAN bus with the car running... freaking thing lights up like a christmas tree
  9. Unfortunately you have to burn an audio cd I think which limits the number if tracks I used iTunes to do it/toast for mac
  10. Yes I doubt it is effective some of the Tarmac guys up here have fabricated some better flexible ducting for the R35 I think

  12. Nice one are you able to get along to QR May12 also?
  13. hey Martin. you drop the price on your fluid and I will be first in line to buy it!
  14. things still going well! transmission quieter and smoother. no more gear grind noises that I had with oem fluid (though that only happened once or twiceanyway) about 200 road km and 300 track km since going in so its still very early days hows your transmission going Jeff?
  15. this occured with oem fluid long before the pentosin went in. havent had it since (you can work it out by dating this topics post date and the pentosin post date). The transmission is actually a bit quieter and smoother with the pentosin in for what thats worth. proof will be in how it holds up to the 10,000 road km use and 1,200 track km per year over the next year or so if the tanny lasts that long. the car is a 2009 model.
  16. see you at QR May 12 Ben, nothing sooner unfortunately.
  17. yes, I did a few laps that day. plus also a long trip home from willowbank lol I will need a full drum for the day if I ever get E85 going I think!
  18. Agree, stock COBB maps V2 seem pretty good. Custom tune is good for a bit more, also planning to run E85
  19. If you are after a COBB AP and custom tune in SE Qld send me a PM. I am trying to get a tuner sorted for this, and as I know how mentioning specific tuners on forums is a great way of starting an argument I will respond to local R35 owners who are interested via PM only. Also if you are after a titanium midpipe and exhaust, I can see about getting a group buy for the titanium exhaust I have. Cheap and good quality if we get the numbers. Again PM me if interested. Thanks Mark
  20. A few us will be getting this wing, potentially mounting on a carbon bootlids also, so I am also very interested in seeing what reinforcing Dunc or Martin have done if any. I seem to recall Martin has some reinforcement with his stock bootlid?.
  21. Hi Bill, welcome!
  22. I didnt state that the car was just as hard to drive as others for a certain lap time. I am a rank amateur and yes I am getting quick times because of the car - so you are correct on that count. once you raise the bar however, as this car allows you to do, it still takes skill to get the quickest times from this car does it not? by using the 'computer driving your car' philosophy you are assuming a poor driver could achieve similar times in the car compared to a pro.
  23. If you are using the stock wheels, I wonder whether you should try the wider rear dunlops all round to help with understeer. Even better if you can get another pair of rear stock wheels up front. I think amuse uses this strategy on their time attack gtr though I can't be certain. Might stick out a bit! As in above post my dealer says nissan have access to plenty if dunlops just not at the price you are after. Price from the dealer has come down a little though I think since a year ago.
  24. Duncan is very polite. the whole computer drives your car thing is such a cliche the fun factor isn't any less just because you can go faster, and extracting the last 1/10 out of the car isn't going to be any easier as already stated
  25. although this is getting off topic, I found my sprint track lap at QR the other week was a full 0.8 seconds faster (58.2 versus 59.0) recorded via the Video Vbox lite versus the transponder thingy on the windscreen they plaster on. The unit quotes sampling at 10 Hz and of course as above, using algorithms to factor in velocity etc to improve accuracy. Any more thinking about it than that however makes my head hurt so I will concentrate on driving better. I hope the errors in each unit though are all relative and not random. reliable incremental gains are what we are all after, not just outright times. back to the topic at hand You've convinced me Dunc - 18 inch wheels & slicks, Cobb tune and maybe, just maybe an R2.two are all coming soon.
