  1. OK I've just tested it with another account, and it works OK for me. Can you just double check that you're seeing the same as the attached pics please? If not I'll check your account and make sure there's nothing wrong in there. 1st pic: Make sure you choose "Full Edit", not "Quick Edit" 2nd pic: You'll only see this if you're editing the first post in a thread which, obviously, you can only do if you're the thread starter (or a mod/admin).
  2. When you edit the first post of a thread, choose "Full Edit". This will give you the option to change the thread title and description.
  3. What double post? I had my exhaust done at Rob Bliss, was very happy with it. Gun Performance put a (custom) split dump and Magnaflow cat on Karen's (SMR33's) car, was very happy with the work, we needed to go back to have the cat light on the dash sorted out but they fixed that no problems.
  4. Welcome to Brisbane in advance As has been said, come along to cruises, dinners etc - that's how quite a few of the people who have become "regulars" started out.
  5. Is it a screech or some other noise? Does it only happen if you hold it turned full lock or if you turn while stopped, or at other times too?
  6. I thought they were two different things? Ie this one went as planned, and the one with the phone number on it was some tool who thought it'd be funny to take off his number plates and do donuts in front of a speed camera van, forgetting his phone number was stuck to the window. Could be completely wrong though, the number of urban myths and general misinformation getting around on the net makes it hard to know what's right and what's not.
  7. ^^^ what he said
  8. Hahaha heard it before, but every single time it makes me laugh
  9. Yeah it's good to know that people like Dan are willing to go the extra mile (or 50, round trip... and stay until midnight...) to help someone in trouble. You really are a champion.
  10. Spotted MAX007 a long way from home as I was coming out of the doctor's yesterday afternoon Also saw two white R33s on Old Cleveland Rd, even got a nod and wave from a guy in one with JON*** on the plates the other was **CNC, the girl driving looked on her way past but I didn't see if she waved or not. If so, I did wave but it was too late!! lol
  11. Dude that post was from April 2004... I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't even have the car any more, let alone still considering the same fuel system mods
  12. I used to have a Fusion DVC 15" sub (don't recall model, was around $400 iirc) in an 85L ported box in the boot of my 33. Heaps of bass, was one of the loudest single-sub systems I had personally heard this side of a dedicated SPL car. Was running off a Rockford monoblock amp if it makes a difference. I have no idea what their mids and tweeters are like, never used them, but their subs definitely seem the goods. Like everyone they no doubt have their good stuff, and their low end stuff. Ask to see demos, or people who would be happy to show you their setup using the components you're looking at, that way you'll know what you're buying.
  13. I have a Pioneer head unit (can't remember exact model, DEH-P6650 or something - the one with the blue EL screen showing F1 cars and dolphins etc) which I got from JB for around $350. I have no idea about native iPod compatibility but I have been very impressed with it. You can get an RF transmitter for an iPod, no idea what they cost but I know a couple of people who have them, they have a range of about 10 metres and sound pretty damn good.
  14. For the record, Top Fuellers cross the line at 300mph (483km/h) plus... from a standstill... in 4.5 seconds. They actually do 0-190 or 0-200 (can't remember exactly) in 0.9 sec, which is their 60ft time incidentally. Farkin amazing. I believe the Yanks are a bit quicker again thanks to heaps more exposure and sponsorship dollars and more money in the tracks, with trap speeds of 320mph+. But yes, anyone who says that building something like the Veyron is anything short of a stunning feat of engineering has no idea what they are talking about.
  15. Happy birthday Damo you old fart!! Suspension ftw

    Get A V8

Hahaha yeah actually that reminds me of some bogans in an old (HG? HK?) Kingswood, saying "we'd race you if it had another 4 cylinders". When I asked him why he wouldn't race anything with less than 10 cylinders and said that a V10 would be a tight fit under the bonnet, he obviously ran out of webbed fingers to count on and replied with something about morons that buy 4 cylinder cars. Given his obvious lack of intelligence I figured blunt and obvious was the best bet here, and just said "it's a 6 cylinder you f*cking retard, go back to school". He got abusive but eventually left when he realised we'd all started ignoring him some time ago. Oooh another one... I was standing next to a mate's car (oldish MX6) while he was filling up at a servo, some tards came up in an old V8 Kingswood (HQ-HZ) and laughed at us, saying the MX6 was crap because it had 4 cylinders. I told them "I have a stock non-turbo 4 cylinder that will hand you your arse" - they all scoffed and one of them said "there isn't a 4 cylinder on the planet that will beat a V8". So I walked over to my bike and started putting on my helmet... they said something about bikes not counting and drove away. Owned lol
  17. Interesting idea, but to be honest a dedicated ECU is still the best bet IMHO. It's designed to do the job, and doesn't have processing overheads like running an operating system (eg Windows, Unix) or background operations that don't directly contribute to the running of the vehicle. Unless the laptop runs full-time, you'd need to wait 10 seconds or more from when you turn the key to the time that things start to work. If data needs to come from the hard drive, there'll be a pause which could be detrimental. You would also need to make your own high-speed interface to send and receive signals on the hundred or so wires going in and out of the computer. Aftermarket ECUs are already programmable and cheaper than most laptops to buy. Installing software that came with the part is an interesting idea too, though the point of programmable management is that you can tune the fuel and ignition maps to exactly match the characteristics of your engine. The way a certain part affects the optimum tune for your engine depends not just on the part itself, but also on what else is bolted to the engine, the flow characteristics of the intake and exhaust systems, engine wear, etc. Tuning each car individually is still the best way. Nice idea though
  18. Soft.
  19. Yes it means that shaft play is within factory specs. Make sure you get it installed by a professional, we don't take returns if you stuff it up, it's used so don't expect it to be clean, no warranty, yada yada yada.
  20. We've organised events that people have asked for on more than one occasion, and still had very few people show. Perhaps if people offered some suggestions instead of just not turning up to things, it'd be easier and more enjoyable for everyone.
  21. Roffle
  22. One may fall into my bag without me noticing. Hahahahahahaha was wondering what you were talking about. I've just resigned from my current employer. And DAMN it feels good.
  23. I'm simultaneously rofling and coptering at that joke. It's so wrong, I like it lol On a different note, I just resigned. Next Friday is my last day here, w00t
  24. I understand that Erin has no legal right to the name, that she doesn't "own" the event, that she doesn't have a Skyline any more, and all that. I've even been told on more than one occasion that people think it's a childish decision. Whatever. Also, just to clarify, MSC had nothing to do with the club, although during the year that Erin was part of the Exec it was endorsed as a club event. I would love nothing more than to see us run MSC 5 (and 6, 7, etc...) but to be fair, Erin has invested a lot of time into the event in the past four years and MSC will always have Erin's name attached to it in some way. Personally I think that's a tribute to how good the event is and how well known it has become, but if she doesn't want us to use the name (and I still have the message on my phone verifying this) then I don't think we should. It's a difficult one, but it's being made more difficult than it has to be. Name change = everyone happy. People will get used to it.
  25. No probs Gordo. You'll still need to validate but I've changed it to the email you specified.
