  1. Hi Roy, I understand what your saying about Club days at a circuit are good value for money and overtaking is much more frequentthan Supersprint days, although overtaking in Supersprints is fine under most circumstnces. Most of the damage i've seen is caused by someone losing control and getting banged by somone who can't avoid running into. I've gotta consider that what i'm driving is how i'm getting home. LOL. Ian
  2. OK for anyone that is interested. The next Round of the NSW Supersprint Chps is at Eastern Creek on Saturday 4th July. It is hosted by Mini Car Club and the Secretary of that club is. 3. Yes benm, I noticed your car parked there and thought it looked great. I think it was mostly me not knowing the track and trying too hard at the wrong time. I was comming off the bridge in 3rd gear and the rear wheels were spinning and just a little further down the track, the road drops down and its off camber. I had 6 runs on the day which was pretty good. If you want to compete in the next Supersprint its at EC on Saturday 4th June. Its hosted by Mini Car Club. I havn't recieved the supp regs yet but when i do I can let you know who the Secretary is and all you have to do is contact the Secretary and their is always vacancys. You need a CAMS 2S Licence which cost around $80 and you can get directly through Skylines NSW Branch, but might be quicker downloading the Licence Application from CAMS and forwarding it on. The days racing is around $150. You also need a fire extinguisher and long sleve and trousers and fireproof shoes (leather). There are 4 more meets after EC. Oran Park South, EC, Oran Park GP, and Oran Park GP. If you want you can contact the Secretary of the Mini Car Club and ask directly for the supp regs and entry form or when i find out i can let you know. Cheers benm Ian
  4. Hi Gary, yes it was a lot of fun racing at Oran Park, i found it quite dificult really but i enjoyed it and i think it like Wakefield teaches you to drive better. Different to Eastern Creek where its just fast. The R33 was going really well yesteday, the only thing was that the rear tyres started rubbing on the alluminium spring supports and was making heaps of smoke under acceleration. But it wasn't until the drive home that the Hi Cas light started flashing on and off and the Indicators wouldn't cancel and the Turbo started making a different spool up noise. Also for some reason the steering wheel wasn't centered. Were checking it all out cause I want to have it all going for Round 4 at EC in 3 weeks time. Thanks Gary Ian.
  5. Hi benm. Yes that was me, I had the only Skyline racing yesterday at Oran Park. Ian

  7. We have a 02 Subaru STi at home here and use Subaru Upper Engine Cleaner every 10k and it does feel like it makes the car better every time we use it. It does seem to clean up the Inlet Manifold and Combustion Chamber.

  9. I competed in Round 2 of the NSW Supersprint CHPS at Wakefield Park today (first time on Wakefield Park) and had a best time of 1.11.69. Finished 4th in SVD and 18 th overall. (84 starters). The R33 GTS-t was well down on power this weekend as i had a power run with Dyno Dave on the way down to Goulburn on Saturday and was down to 202kw from 240kw previously. I'm going to have to try and find out where the missing kw are. Next round is on the GP Circuit at Oran Park in 1 month. Ian

  12. Does anyone know the Volume Number of a HPI DVD where the Japaneese driver was driving a Modded GTR and was saying " This Car is Too Fast?" anyone please?
  13. I'm pretty sure PowerPlay Imports on Victoria Rd Drumoyne Sydney , one of the sponsors of SAU sell Veruspeed Oil. I've seen it in in the display cabinet there... I bought a few extra litres of the stuff when i bought my Nismo 2 way from Japan, because i new i would be needing the stuff when run in and general maintenance.
  14. I only use the LSD oil reccomended by Nismo which is VERUSPEED 80W-90 100 % Synthetic. It is available in Australia and is supposedly the only oil to keep the diff reasonably quiet.
  15. Sorry, I think we are running about 18lbs Boost, C@V couldnt get any more out of the Hi FLow and with Power FC, HKS Step1 Cams, CES Dump, 555 Nismo Injectors, GTR Front Mount Int, GTR Fuel Pump, Sard FPR and the usual aftermarket panel filter, it was making 250kw@the rw. I paid around $2100 for the GCG Turbo with new HKS actuator. It goes quite hard and will be competing at most of the NSW Hillclimb and Supersprints this year.
  16. I know what you are saying but i'm certain that the curved splitter on the CES dump pipe remains in the metal between the wastegate and the exhaust. I know when we trial fitted my CES dump with the Hi Flow turbo the splitter was in the correct location. It is only the tip on the end of the splitter that has to be filed back. The part that will make contact inside the recess for the wastegate and exhaust.. The reason i know that the splitter is not slipping inside the wastgate hole is that it was leaving an imprint in the plastercine that i was using to gauge when the tip had been filed back enough for it not to bottom out when the bolts holding the turbo and dump were able to be tightened. Its a great dump and the improvement is measurable. Its also a little louder than a ordinary aftermarked 3" dump.
  17. You need to file down to the exact length, the end of the splitter so that when you bolt the dump pipe up to the turbo with the gasget in place, the end of the splitter is not too long and strike the turbo before the bolts are done up tightly. Thats what you use the plastercine for. Your not making the splitter thinner or weaker, your just filling it down to the correct length...CES make them so that they can be filed back to the correct length.
  18. I had my turbo high flowed by GCG and fitted a CES split dump pipe and had no problems fitting the splitter. The splitter needed to be trial fitted and filed down a few times to get the splitter to just seat at the base of the exhaust housing. Plastercine is good for just getting the fitting correct.
  19. I'm going to cancel my order too Bass for R33 GTS-t. I just want a pipe with no attatchments. Thanks Bass Ken
  20. Hi mate. The belts you want are 4PK850, 4PK910, and 3PK845. They are available at any spare parts places.
  21. Targa Tasmania 04 Winner...Tony Sullens driving 02 WRX STi 202 The engine was done by Michael South and Tony Sullens, the cams were degreed in and apart from that it is STD. The power band is very narrow thanks to the very small exhaust, peak power was near 240kw @ the hubs and at 5400rpm, torque was near 500 Nm. THE COMPETITION Jim Richards car has 390 kw ATW, it is a turbo 2wd GT2. There are near on 50 of these in GT2's and 3's, there are almost as many GTR's, R32's, 33's and 34's that run in Targa as well as the odd Monaro, Torana and Walkinshaw. Hmmmm Ian
  22. It's fine to run 256/8.8mm lift IN and 264/9.0mm lift EX. Thats the way i have my R33 GTS-t setup. 264/ 9.0mm EX still retains VVT. When you install them make sure you coat all the journals and bearings with "mollybond" yellow tube, and rev to constant 2000 RPM for 15 minuites to break in the cams. It's not necessary to install new springs with these cams. Ian
  23. Yes I read on the forums here where a guy bought a GCG Hi-Flow for $1200 and boy did i feel dumb. Only weeks before i paid GCG $2100 to Hi-Flow a turbo I supplied, but that included a new HKS actuator, and ball bearings though. Ken
  24. I know that a lot of guys swear by the Tomai Poncams but i was advised that the HKS 256 IN and 264EX are a little more powerful and still retain the VVT. I went the HKS route and after a minor hickup being sent the wrong HKS EXH Cam from Japan with the wrong CAS fitting (R34 CAS), I must say i am very happy now and the car is making good power around 260kw at the rear wheels. Ian
  25. No..you will only see the Plenum gasket which is a substantial gasket. If your carful when you seperate the top of the plenum from the bottom you should be fine without replacing anything. Ken
