  1. Hi Bob, I have no idea why it drops off, from the impression i got off Con he doesn't like internally gated turbos particularily. Maybe that was why he said he would like to weld the gate and get a externally gated manifold? But at the end of the day I was really stoked with the extra 30kw from the turbo and getting close to the limits of a stock internal RB25. I was so close to buying a HKS 2835 kit for $4000 and i doubt if it would have made any more than the VG30 addition on the GCG Hiflow for the few hundred it cost. Ian
  2. Hi lbfalcon, the 240 was 18psi dropping to 14psi and the 271 was 19 dropping to 17psi Ian
  3. Hi Bob. yes i took a heap of pictures of the turbo before i put it on. I have them on the memory card on my camera but i will download them onto the computer tonight and post for you Bob. The VG30 is much larger than the turbine housing on the GTS-t. I know nothing about turbos but the guys that do are like gynocologists and stick 3 fingers into the housing and say, "yes this is off a single turbo 3 litre 300ZX Nissan" Ian
  4. Hi Munna, have GCG Hiflow Hybrid Turbo, Power FC, Nismo 550 Injectors, GTR34 Front Mount Int, GTR34 Fuel Pump, Sard FPR, Z32 AFM, HKS Step 1 Cams, HKS adjustable exhaust Cam Gear, CES Split Dump, 3" exhaust. Oil Cooler. Suspension and Brakes have been modified extensively including GTRGeoff's Hycas lock bar. Racing on RE55s Bridgestone tyres. Ian
  5. Hi Gary, thanks mate. Con was very impressed with the larger VG30 rear end and recon's he can get more (he wanted to weld up the gate and get a manifold with external)but with stock innards we called a halt, cause i know that you recon around 280kw is satisfactory. Ian
  6. After a discussion with discopotato03 about getting a bit more out of a GCG Hiflow turbo, i rang Bret at GCG Turbochargers and he concurred that he could adapt a VG30 rear end onto his GCG Hiflowed R33 GTS-t turbo. I then sourced a VG30 from an importer and gave it and my Hiflow back to Bret to do the Hybrid. Bret suggested that it should give a little more with the larger rear end and hold boost to 7000. After refitting the Hybrid GCG Hiflow, I had a very pleasant supprise after it was retuned yesterday by C&V Performance. I had a tune done by C&V four weeks ago which produced 240kw@tw just prior to competing in round 4 of the NSW Supersprint Ch'ps at Easter Creek where I had a fastest time of !:49:55. Yesterday the GCG Hybrid made a safe 271.2kw@tw. Should be able to use the extra kw at Oran Park in round 5 this Sunday. Ian
  7. Hey Duncan, is Mark saying you got a fat arse mate?.....LOL Ian
  8. Iv'e bought those adjustable window sliders from Nissan. This is for a R33. What happens is that the furry stuff that the window slides against wears out and then the window slides against the hard base that the furry stuff used to adhere to. There are 2 of the things per window and Nissan got them from Japan. They cost about $100 for 4 of them. Hope that helps Ian
  9. I mounted mine on the wall of the rear passengers side footwell. Just beside the fastener that hold the rear seat down.
  10. Hi Reedy, If you want to do Drift, get a 2 way diff but if you want to do track as in Circuit get the 1.5 way. Ian
  11. Hi guys, these are the instructions for adjusting the Nismo LSD Pro. Hope they help. Ian
  12. OK, looking at the diff from the drivers side, you have to undo the bolts that connect the axle and the stub axle and lever out the stub axle that enters the diff with a screwdriver. Then you can adjust the diff with a 19mm socket on a small extension. Their are 3 adjustments for varying amounts of "lockup." Low (68.6 N-m) is at 1/4 to the hr. Mid (93.1 N-m) is at 12 O'Clock, and High (137N-m) is at 1/4 past the hour.Turn the 19mm socket to make the desired setting. Hope that helps Rob. I have the written instructions here in Japanese. If you need more help, I can scan the instructions for you. Ian
  13. INASNT, I'd get the Bilsteins checked out and rebuilt if necessary. The things that stiffened up my R33 was the thickest swaybars Whiteline made with extra adjustable holes (3 in rear and 4 in the front). I have new Bilsteins with one extra circlip hole machined 1" lower than the stock one...I have very little body roll. Ian
  14. I'm after a HKS Cast Iron Exhaust Manifold. Anybody have one for sale or know where one might be purchased from?. It's for a R33 GTS-t. Thanks if anybody has can they please contact Ian on 0265554342 or [email protected] Thanks
  15. Hi Roy, If you PM me your address I will send you a DVD I made with a camera mounted on the rear parcel shelf and my old man videoing from the roof of the main building at EC last week. Also if you go to www.JPMphoto.com.au and click on Supersprint at EC (maybe Mini Car Club of NSW) last week and on Pages 7 and 18 their are a few pictures of my Skyline. Thanks Roy Ian
  16. Hi Roy, no I dont find the Whiteline springs soft, I am using the Lowered spring and i have a circlip goove 1" lower than the stock Bilstein groove. I am using all the settings provided by Whiteline on their website for the R33. I try and keep the tyre pressures to 34psi after each run. Ian
  17. HaHaHa...I left the track early with the blown exh manifold gasket and was seriously happy with with my 1:50:3900... I didn't check with the timekeepers for my last session on the track, but i knew I was going better than I had been earlier. I just got the official results for the day and I won my class and finished 9th outright on the day. Nothing that is road registered is withing cooee of my time. Also I am outright leading class SVD for the season and on one of the last 3 laps I recorded a time of 1:49:55. 18. I used Contact Cleaner first and the car ran really bad. I rang C&V and Con said "Use Brake Cleaner" He'd seen Contact Cleaner stuff up on AFM's before and Brake Cleaner always works well.
  19. Don't use Contact Cleaner to clean the AFM....Use Brake Cleaner.. Ask Sydneykid if you don't believe me.
  20. I have just blown the exhaust gasket on my R33 GTS-t and since i am going to take it off, I was wondering if anyone knows who makes aftermarket exhaust manifolds that offer improved performance using the original turbo (albeit hiflowed)? Thanks
  21. OK, just got home after competing in Round 4 NSW Supersprint at Eastern Creek. I have improved my best time and now have a fastest lap time of 1:50:3900, timed by CAMS. The car was going great and the only thing that was changed from the last outing at Eastern Creek was one of SKYLINEGEOFF'S hicas lock bars was fitted and this modification steadied the rear end and made it much more predictable. (Thanks Geoff). 2.13 secs improvement. Unfortunatly the day finished early for me when i blew a exhaust manifold gasget, but still drove the car home, 4hrs drive. Ian.
  22. Thanks for that Roy...I didn't see that message. Ian
  23. NEO It's also expensive, but it is bloody good in Gearbox's and Viscous Diffs.
  24. Hey benm, I just got the official results from CAMS and out of all the cars that competed on Sunday, I was the 9th fastest overall. Behind a few Open Wheelers, Clubmen with Carbon Fiber guards and Suzuki Halebusa engines. What I love most about the whole thing is that I drove the car to the circuit with 4 semi slick tyres and wheels on the back seat and in the boot and 2 passengers and a full tank of fuel. Nothing lightened including Stereo and Air Conditioning...the works. I finished 2nd in SV Class overall behind a full on racing Alfa. I am winning SV Class overall after 3 rounds and I change the tyres after the races and drive home to Forster all in the same day. That's satisfying. Ian
