  1. Hey thanks anyway man I ended up getting some stock gear off a mate as he'd just done an s13 conversion. I've also managed to get hold of a pair of coilovers for the front and I'll just put my old springs and shocks in the back for now hopefully the combo wont be too bad. Got it pit passed today just need to drop the form into Service Tas and then just put everything back the way it was lol. Atleast now I can get the car out to Baskerville on sunday which was the main concern.
  2. Last time I was out there for a private track day I paid to sign up to the Hobart Sporting Club and then to go on the track (so did everyone else) so it was everyone paid individually cant remember the price but it was around the $120 -$140 mark. And it was per car too I think cause one of my friends paid to take his bike out then wanted to take his SS ute out after and he wasn't allowed.
  3. Hey guys if anyone has a set of stock R31 springs they could loan/sell me that'd be great I've gotta get this defect cleared before easter or I can't drive my car
  4. Cheers man you have a PM.
  5. This sounds like a great idea so you can count me in. If I can get my 31 sorted out before then I'll come out for a lash if not I'll just come out to look but making it a regular thing I'd definately be interested especially once the GTR's running.
  6. Hey Guys and Gals I'm after a set of cheap Height adjustable coilovers for my R31. My car got defected for being too low so I thought it's probably a good time to do the conversion. If anyone's got S13 front hubs, brakes and lower control arms too that'd be good as it might be easier to get them from down here than the from the guys on the mainland I'm chasing. Anyway's if you can help me out then let me know what you've got and I'll sus them out cheers.
  7. Awesome build man love that cage! I've got a 32GTR build on the go at the moment too but nowhere near as nice as this! I really should get off my bum and start a buildup thread but im waiting to have a new shed built soI haven't done much to it lately. Oh well these things take time. Your right though i live in Tas and there are some truly inspiring roads over here. Keep the updates coming especially the Paint Job.
  8. Heres a pic of my 32 GTR Vspec1 when I bought it last year. Been in the shed since and I've just got my rebuilt engine back. Still needs a full respray so wont see the road before christmas I dont reckon but I'll post some pics when its finished.

  16. Hey I pulled the engine out myself but my mate works at Tas Engine Reco in Hobart so they did all the work. I'm putting Garrett -5s on it so I'm hoping for around 340-380kw obviously closer to 380 would be better lol but I guess it all depends on the tuner it should be good for 400 in theory but you know how things vary. As for fuel system I haven't got anything sorted out yet but I have removed all my hicas stuff apart from the hard lines from the front to back and I've heard something about converting them to fuel feed lines cause they're bigger than the factory ones or something like that but I'll work it out. Other than that just a decent intank feeding a surge tank with an external feeding the injectors havent looked at any brands yet. My mate got I think it's siemens injectors in a kit with a rail reg and lines pretty cheap through his work on his 25 and they seem to do the job well. So I'll probably go with those. But really at the moment just a saving game lol. It's true GTR owners are all poor aren't they lol.
  17. Hey zoidbergmerc yeah its a 26 out of a 94 model Vspec1 but it had the longer crank in it and i just got a basic budget reco (as budget as you can anyway) but its basically got Ross forged pistons, nitto rods, ACL bearings, oil restrictors, external oil drain, hi octane sump extension, basic head reco with heavy duty valve springs for poncams later on etc. Really just a full refresh with no heavy machining or over the top parts. I figured if i went all out on it and something went wrong then i would'nt have the money to do it again so i just tried to get away with as much as possible while fixing the factory probs and making it more reliable. I mean nissan knew what they were doing and stock these engines are capable of decent power so with a few new bits it should do what i want for as long as i want well hopefully anyway lol. I would get some pics up but im really struggling to do that ive got them off my iphone and onto picasa3 but i cant seem to get them onto SAU so if anyones got any tips they'd be much appreciated.
  18. Picked up my engine for the GTR last week. Looks so good now just need to save for turbos!
  19. Hey guys heres a link to my daily. My link
  20. Hey guys I guess its about time I introduce myself on here as my car seems to be moving ahead now. Ive been on SAU for a few years now and some of you may know my charcol/ black R31 that Mr. Untouchable and I did a resto on about a year ago. But my new project is slowly coming together now so its about time I started posting up about it. Mr. Untouchable (Jack) and I went to Sydney at the start of last year to buy me an R32 GTST with a built 26 in it but when we got there it wasnt the car it was said to be so after trudging around the streets of Sydney in 40 degree heat for 3 days we finally stumbled across JapLink Motors who had in stock some very nice cars but 2 R32 GTRs which caught my attention. One was a clean unmolested 92 model. Black with stock wheels and just an exhaust but extremely straight and tidy which he wanted $20000 for. The other was a dirty, old, black unloved 94 model Vspec2 which he wanted $15000 for but didnt want to sell me. After much deliberation and numerous test drives we decided that if I was going to have to rebuild an engine somewhere down the track I may as well start with some extra money in the bank so I bought the Vspec! What a car i got it for $12500 with rego and a new battery plus shipping to Hobart and once I paid my deposit Jack and I decided to take it for one last test drive. Now this car was an ex track car so it had a few goodies left in it and Jack took full advantage of them screaming around the back streets of Sydney. Nothing like hitting the limiter in a 50 zone lol. But after a spirited drive we pulled up back at the yard and popped the bonnet only to find the dipstick had blown out and let about 3 litres of oil squirt all through the engine bay. Well to cut a long story short I got the car back to Tas did a turbo swap drove it for 2 days and dicided to rip the engine out. (breathing lots of oil out the catch can and more smoke than an old Massey Fergusson out the back) Which brings us to now 1 year later and I get a phone call from my mate Jaymie from Tas Engine Reco to let me know that my engine is ready to pick up so Im currently in the shed Painting the engine bay ready to put the engine in in the next few weeks. I'll be starting a buildup thread (once i work out how to upload pics from my Iphone) just incase anyones interested as im not putting the car back on the road until I fully respray it and do a few other things. But theres my story for anyone who feels like reading it lol. Sorry it turned out to be pretty long.
  21. Hey guys the 31 got broken into again a few days ago I didn't notice at first just thought my ignition barrel was playing up a bit, key was real stiff and gritty in the barrel and even after driving for a while I didn't click. I had a balance and wheel alignment and just thought the steering wheel was not centred but when I finally saw that my centre piece of the steering wheel wasn't clipped in properly I noticed the left hand side of the wheel was bent back a bit towards the dash not a huge amount but enough so the centre won't clip back on that side. It was then I worked it out and actually found that my left hand door lock had been totally f**ked. I'm guessing they got in and tried bending the steering wheel to try and get the oldschool club lock off and when that failed just left it. Just a reminder to keep an eye out and don't get lazy. Sometimes I just can't be bothered putting the steering lock on but it's saved me twice now so don't get complacent. That was at firthside in Kingston and I did consider that a remotely safe place but I'm giving that a rethink now. I guess its just better to not to take anywhere for granted cause it's not the area it's the f**kwits that wander on through.
  22. Thanks Shane you bet it's hard to keep clean and it seems every time I wash it lately it bloody rains lol. Unfortunately its not 100% at the moment though as i had someone throw a bottle through the back drivers side window on friday night so just waiting to get a new one through work.
