i had a similar problem with my S1 stagea[RB25det] fixed it by changing the plugs my mech also told me to to check/clean the tips of the coilpacks[where they connect to sparkplugs] [this is for for factory coilpacks-im not sure if splitfires r different?] unplug them-remove blk rubber covers/boots & check also id suggest cleaning out the AAC valve-like the other guy said-with carby cleaner mine ran a bit smoother afterwards & its easy to do theres a tut with pics in the stagea DIY section

...banana in the tailpipe... a trick we played on new guys at my old job was wait about a minute after they went to the toilet... get a thin piece of fibro & pour metho on it ignite slid under door & wait for the scream!!!

i just got a set of clear S1 covers from ebay seller who8u for $49[aus] inc postage to QLD they look good-havent put em on yet reasonably packaged & arrived quickly a mate of mine used clear ford[i think]covers for his S2-said he paid $15[aus]for em they look good too-kinda tapered at one end

spotted this S1 Stag near Mt Coolum on the Sunny Coast its actually for sale looked good with no panel damage at all interior looked alright too ill go back & get a flyer from the it asap if anyones interested just pm me & ill have more details had to use my phone to take pics...

i pulled up at the local shops the other day near a nice looking silver S2 prime edition those black leather seats sure look good chatted with the owner for awhile dont see many stags on the coast so its always a treat

i just got a 2nd hand S1 factory auto shifter assembly to replace my '97 dayz edition one my auto gear stick is about to break-tightened the 2 screws on shaft but no luck-its broken inside the dayz gearstick is different to factory one will it be fairly simple for me to replace it? bought it from SAU member-KiwiRS4T [bob] he was really easy to deal with-top bloke he sent me a written tut but i just want to get other peoples input as well cheers jesse

are they all the same size or are the ones meant for the back a slighty larger diameter?

Ok-thanks for the advice I'd recommend to everyone to change their own plugs[instead of getting a mech to do it] that way u know they havent been overtightened one of mine was & the ceramic cracked when removing it real PITA stuff to get out from underneath the coilpacks use a can of compressed air to blast out any crap around plugs before u take em out & u know nothings dropped into engine DIY the go basically did a complete service... changed oil oil filter fuel filter and plugs

Problem solved-changed the sparkplugs also thoughly cleaned out AAC valve on the same day but i think it was the old plugs causin the problem two of em were lookin pretty haggard with a yellowish buildup of crap around em now she's runnin smoothly again
