  1. This in on this Saturday. So make sure you get along.
  2. While the latest batch of sticky road tyres 140/180 UTQG things, maybe closer then ever to the r-compound 'semi-slicks'. There is a marked performance difference and price difference. Sprint events / time attack don't generally have restrictions on tyre size. As generally the manufactures of '90's JDM cars under tyred the cars to an extreme. Try running around on 215's in a 1400kg street GTST with >200rwkw.
  3. The plot thinens. I like to support MS in VIC, but the continued reg changes and now a 'street' class where you can run r-compound tyres...I fully realise you cannot accommodate all. But that is a real disappointment. What know distinguishes 'Street' from 'Pro' ?!?!? 'Street Legal Tyres' include any DOT approved tyre basically and 'Pro' is free except slicks, so the same tyres as 'Street'?!?! Also the suspension mounting points, aero, weight reduction etc etc. Why have 'Street' and 'Pro' if there is no clear distinction?!?

I was under the impression you were just talking about the traction (castor) bush for some reason...Not sure why. Anyway, those two are not the most time consuming on the car. But are fiddly. doing the lower inner is where the difficulty is. Pressing that one may take some time. As you will probably need to take the lower arm off the hub etc. The upper outer will take 45-1 hour'ish each side. The lower inner, not sure depends on how easy the thing come out of there. But 1/2 - 2/3 of the day sounds ok to me.
  5. A convert! heahea.
  6. ^this guy heahehea
  7. Mate it was sunny all day and 35deg ish. Nothing like melb was. Paul and Kat...errrr exceeded the melting point of their brake pads, as did Chris in the ///M. All had to have a rest for a little bit. I blew a water hose, Rob blew some studs in the exhaust manifold (leaking gas). Chris sent the RSR's to their grave. Scott mowed the grass. Dion was blowing oil and leaking boost via the BOV. Still was a good day with all of us there.
  8. Im happy to run for pres this year. VP - Martin Sullivan Second the secretary and treasure.
  9. Lots of people with cameras Hot day, very hot. Few people with trouble. Good shake down for the upcoming track days.
  10. 2012 SAU-Vic EGM/Committee Elections Location: Garage Cafe, Carlton Time: 7:30PM Date: Wednesday 15th Feb The 2012 SAU Vic elections will be held via EGM at the February Club Meeting on Wednesday 15th February 2012 At this meeting, the new Committee for 2012 will be elected. All current Committee members will step down on 15/02/2012. All Committee positions are up for voting and nomination. However it will only be the Executive Committee who gets voted in on the night of the EGM by the existing member base. The Executive committee will then pick the general committee as they see fit from the members who are nominated here. It is wholly the duty of the Executive Committee to pick, add, delete, and change the General Committee as they see fit. Nominations can only be made by financial members of SAU-Vic. Please note that the General Committee does not need to be nominated here to be selected... However please use this thread as a good opportunity to make yourself known to the new Executive Committee so as they can pick their General Committee quickly. If you would like to be involved on the Committee, please nominate yourself. If you think someone else would be great in a Committee role - please nominate them. For a nomination to be valid it must be seconded by a current Club Member and the person must accept the nomination. Don't be scared - this is a great way to get more involved with your club. The Committee is currently structured as such: Executive Committee roles: President Vice President Secretary Treasurer Again, this is a great way to be a part of your club. All current financial members are eligible. All committee members have to stand down and be re-nominated and re-elected - so everyone has the ability to be involved. Please post any queries or nominations in this thread. Alternativly nominations can be sent to [email protected] All nominations and seconding will need to be finalisted 48 hours prior to the EGM on Wednesday15th February 2012 to give the Committee due time to make arrangements for the meeting The current positions are: President John Richardson Vice President Ash Cosgriff Secretary Dan Hall Treasurer Ross Brown Location of the meeting To Be Advised
  11. To what entent does this happen in larger markets? Ie the states and the eu? Where aftermarket parts and services attribute a measurable impact on the economy? Do they have lobby groups? Are we just too small...
  12. Bashing related death vs motor vechile reated death. Would like to know that stats. As i see it there would have been multiple people in hospital because they chose to 'go out to the city' vs the road fatalities for that night. Common sense doesnt preval obvoiusly as making sure the car is quiet carries much the same weight as making sure people are safe on a night out...
  13. Did you jack the car from the k-frame? Both wheels need to be off the ground.
  14. You're going to need a helmet ongoing anyway. You can get cheapies ($100) from any peter stevens motorbike joint. Though the old saying is cheap helmet, cheap head.
  15. It's a good question, as they are a reasonable price with the flywheel. Same compound as the twin, just a lessor power ratting (so its easy on the foot)? RWD only iirc,
  16. I would be looking at something else.
  17. You can thank the Snowman for that. He posted it up ages ago in the MS section.
  18. yup, 6 sounds great...argh. Did the doctor diagnose the proscribe treatment Scott?
  19. 14PSI will not last very long on a stock turbo either. Do a search "r33 turbo max boost". Stock Inj + bump the fuel pressure will get you a tad more power (whatever the number on the dyno reads) After that you can throw what ever turbo you like at is, no more power. Your tuner is telling you turbo and rightly so. The stock turbo will not last long at 14PSI. Do you want to be cleaning comp housing shards (yes yes the rear blows out, but it unbalances the shaft and the comp wheels generally grinds a nice path up against the comp housing) out of your intercooler?!?! So basically you need to do all four, turbo, inj, pump and afm. Also whats up the with e-manage? Just asking seeing 90% of the population use PFC, the other haltech, link, vipec etc.
  20. I'm using the Remsa's in the S15, no noise from them yet. They are 1500km down now. Hard to tell the dust, if any, from the road grim etc.
  21. maybe because they were iridium?!? Anyway hope it pulls a nice number for you.
  22. Because he chose not to use the clutch at all when shifting..... Ask RHDjapan as well.
  23. An on shoe box with a matchbox car in it does not count!
