Thats the main thing is the job security, Im just not sure i could stick out doing the same thing day in day out till i got promoted (and even then ts jst watching the sames thing day in day out). The other thing is that if i get qualifyed i could travel to europe and work for the same brand dealership there, wouldnt mind it but still same thing just dif place. What i realy want to know is where people think the auto trade is moving to, with new cars will all the small local workshopd be muceled out by dealerships?!? Can you get a job at a dealership even if you havent been trained at one, all people at my workplace have been from dealerships, dif brands but all still dealerships?!?

Hey All, I'm currently working at one of the euro dealerships and am finding it rather boring doing the same thing day in day out, so I was thinking of moving to a general mechanic shop or if I'm lucky enough a performance shop. Only real issue is the future of the trade, with car becoming more and more complicated and being even more geared to dealerships will the smaller shops be able to survive? I don't want to jump ship only to find that in 10 years down the track I'll be strugling to get by. Please post your views on this as I'm a lil conflicted as to what to do and I guess there maybe some people here who may have a bit of insight into this topic. Thanks!

  4. Not sure if this has happend to anyone else but today my s1.5 r33 clocked over to 100,000km... Well almost...its stuck between 99,999 and 100,000. Any one know how to fix this?? Has it happened to anyone else??
  5. Coils...just got some new ones today, makes a hell of a diferance...3 of mine where stuffed...all new now...sigh the things you do to get a car ready to sell...

  7. Looking to sell my GTS-4, Its got a full 2.5 inch exaust and a pod but apart from that its stock. Perfect 'P' platers car, paint need a polish up and there are a few dints, but mechanicaly perfect!   8. I can hire a truck from a company that only use em mon to fri so they are happy for a slab for me to use it on the weekend, as for rip off thing...I'm happy for you to meet me, he'll come to my house, that way even if I do a runner you can find me.

Hey All, Been trying to figure out how to get a front cut down from Sydney, i have been quoted $500 but this was a bit ritch for me so i was thinking of flying up hiring on of the small trucks from Avis or somehting and driving it back down to Melbourne... So there is going to be a fair bit of room in this truck so if anyone wants anything from just jap or any other performance places in sydney PM me and ill see what i can do. I wont charge much for freight im just tring to cut back overheads, im not out to make $$$. The way this will work is: 1. check i have room (if yes go to step 2, if no...sorry too late) 2. ill contact every one to let them know this is a go ahead 3. order and pay for the item and let them know ill be picking it up (ill have a date and times at a later date) 4. i drive em all back down to melbourne 5. you make deposit into my account to help pay for freight. (or cash on pick up) 6. we figure out where and when to meet to get your goodies. And remember, if you dont pay for the items then i can't pick them up, if you dont have the money for freight you can't pick them up.

  11. I have 3 sets of gen issue VIC plates...all on my wall from cars ive owned that reg has run out on...VicRoads dont give you any money back for the plates...so hell i keep mine! On my car, i have custom ones, my mum bought them for me as part of my 21st prezzy, honestly for the price you pay they aint realy worth it but as a gift it was nice.
  12. This thred has strayed a bit...I was told that the thing in the boot was hicas so i would get rid of it if i could, but it seems that its the res for the ATTESSA system that i want to keep...
  13. What fluid do i put in the ATTESSA pump thing? its a bit low...
  14. I have the pump in under the rear drivers side quarter...or is that something else?!? Was told it was hicas pump as it was rusted when i got my RWC at Kamikazi Motors.
  15. My car is a every day driver so i want to have more power but know it aint goin to blow up, as far as a power goal, im not sure, was thinking 250-270 would be nice, but that will have to wait till i can afford it!

  18. Hey, I have an R33 GTS-4 and i striped out my boot a while ago and there is a reservoir of some sort on the right hand side of the boot, is this for the hicas fluid? Also i had a look under the car where the steering rack for the rear wheels is ment to be and its not there, its bolted onto the rear dif right?? any way i just want to know what the deal is with all wheel steer in these how to lock it and remove it. Cheers!
  19. Gave them a call the other day explained what im doing and he told me it will cost $650, slightly more than the $200 i was expecting, have i asked for the wrong thing?!? What is it exactly im wanting?

Well i have done some research and so far i have found: -To change engine numbers you must go to VicRoads and fill out a change of discription form, no booking is needed, you must have the car with you and proof of ownership of the engine -you dont need to go as far as an engineering cert, apparently there is something called a VASS cert, its for simple convertion (like the one im doing) and is between a road worthy and an engineering cert. Anyone know more about this VASS thing? and can anyone recomend someone who is reasonably priced?
  21. Hey All, Just a few quick questions about an engine swap, not so much the physical swap but the paper work to go with it. First off, the engine numbers, what do I have to do to get this changed on my registration? (I'm in Victoria if you need to know) Do I simply make an appointment at VicRoads and have them check the numbers and its all good?!? Also engineering, I’ve been told that no engineering certificate is required but I just want to be sure. I'm putting an RB25DET (out of a stagea) into a GTS4, I'm upgrading all the hubs to 5 stud as well as the calipers to the ones form a GTS-T. Now I believe the modification is all good, but just to be sure. Are there any other authorities ect. that I will have to contact to make it legit?!? Cheers
  22. Im pritty sure the drive line is GTR, i had it on a hoist the other day and it was massive, though i havent seen a gtr drive line i know mine is bigger than a new BMW M5's. If some one can tell me the diamiter of a gtr tail shaft then i can check it out. Also what tests can i do to see if the motor im looking at is ok?
  23. Well i would rather not rebuild the motor, what tests can i do on it while ts on the pallet to make sure it aint a lemon. Im guessing a compression test? what else?
  24. Drive line in the GTS4 is GTR so it will hold...and yes ill be doing brakes though the front hubs have to be from a GTR the calipers will be GTST
  25. No my car is manual, is this only applicable for autos?!? Also the motor im looking at is auto so i will be swapping out the auto front dif one for my current manual one so the gearing ratios are the same.
