Now before anything, I don’t want to turbo my current block and I don’t want to sell my car and buy another and I want a 4WD car, so please don’t just clog this topic up with these suggestions. I'm currently an owner of a 1995 R33 GTS4 Skyline and have got off my ‘P’ plates, now what I want to do is get more power from my car, after some research I want to get a turbo engine and do a swap. I also want to keep it fairly stock as it is an every day driver and don’t want to be blowing up stuff and spending heaps on fuel. Now I have tracked down an RB25DET 4WD from a Stagea, but they haven’t got much…or any…history on it so I'm preparing myself that I may have to rebuild it. So my questions are: 1. How much would it cost me to get someone to rebuild it? (take into account that I will give them the motor on a pallet) 2. Is there a workshop manual I can get that will take me through step by step on what to do (I'm a first year apprentice so I would like to do the work myself) 3. What else will I need for the conversion? This is the list I have so far (let me know if I don’t need items as well): Turbo engine loom Turbo gearbox loom? Turbo ECU Front and rear hubs (5 stud) Front and rear brakes Master cylinder and booster Intercooler and pipes Exhaust Fuel pump Clutch? If I can get enough information on this I will be doing it and am happy to make a ‘How To’ diary on it! So please if you can help me out I would really appreciate it! Cheers!

Just quickly, i was talking to my dad about putting a turbo on my existing block and he was saying that you would need to shim it out to lower the compression ect that its better off with a turbo block. is this still the case since he hasnt turbo's anything but guessed you would need to shim it like he had to when putting a supercharger on his old FJ. Going of the fact that a turbo block is designed for a turbo is there any real advantages to doing a swap or is it better to just do a convertion and keep the origional block?

Yes the R33 GTS4's have the same drive train as their R33 GTR counterparts. Just selling my car and buying a nother is out of the question, i like the one i have and ive already started interior mods ect. Will prob just get a front clip that way i have everything i need bar the exaust, that means im only paying 2-3k for it then doing all the work myself then taking the car to exaust shop and get that done there. And yes ill be doing it in stages, at the moment ive got some r33 GTR 5 stud hubs and GTST calipers that im replacing the old 4 stud NA hubs with, ive already got HR Tien coilovers all round. Money will be a slight issue but im not in any rush to get this done so im happy with the brakes for now then save up some more and get a front clip just want to make sure i understand what needs to be done, and how to do it right. Apart from the exaust is there anything else ill be missing to do the convertion?

Currently my car is manual. So all i need to do is swap the sump and front dif from my existing car to the new turbo block and it will be peachy?!? (thats if i get a auto stagea rb25det) Correct?!? So for the rest of the stuff i need to do... ECU - Fair enough Exaust - Easy Done Fuel Pump - will one out of a r33 gtst work? Clutch - Saw that comming but fair enough Intercooler setup - Ok i have no idea about intercoolers and how they are set up apart from they are normaly at the front where the radiator sits. What else is needed? and most importantly how much am i looking to be up for these? if some one can break down the costs for me a bit it will realy help (keep in mind i want to do the work myself so laber is on me)

Ahhhh..ok then i had no idea that it was the actual block that was differant. What about electrics? will that be straight forward though its from the stagea? Sorry if im asking noob question, but well i am a noob when it comes to all this stuff.

So dose that mean if i can get a stageas sump i can just drop an RB25DET with said sump into my GTS4 and it will fit?

Ok, I have a GTS4 and am looking to make a mini-zilla out of it. I have been told the following: - You can just drop a RB25DET into it and it will be fine. - RB25DET sump wont fit as its a AWD - Get a RB26, this will fit but you will need to get the rest of the GTR running gear (this is way out of my budget) Also had a go searching this and found people talking about a sump that would fit on a RB25DET, is this from another car or is it something that a company has designed for this purpose?!? I don’t want to do a conversion to the existing motor (im one of those 'there’s a reason there aint a turbo on this block' sort of people) plus it will prob cost more and be somewhat more fiddly. Any tips on how you go about this project will be helpful. Oh and as a note i want to do most if not all the work myself as a bit of a project to get to know my car and what’s in it. Cheers Cam

Hey All, My current front bar is all cracked and crumped and honestly its got to the point that i cant be bothered repairing it. SO, I need to find a new kit. Now Im located in Melbourne and want to see the kit before buying (ive had too many people i know get kits that dont fit or look heaps better in the pics) If any one can direct me to some where that i can get kits from and can physicaly see the kit befor buying, it would be much appreciated. As far as what im after, i would want a full body kit (Front, Sides and Rear) also wouldnt mind getting a bonnet (need some with vents in them that look pritty tough) So directions please Cheers Cam

Ok so its as easy as getting a second 12v plug, pluging in my laptop running feed to the in dash screen and an rca lead to amps. Just remembered that i will prob still want radio can you get something like an AM/FM radiotuner card for computers??

Looking for some help on getting this project moving along. Have been looking at getting a dvd head unit to put in my r33, after looking at prices of decent ones being about $1000 i started thinking about just getting one of those mini laptops that run off 12v and get a 7" screen mounted in the dash with a compact mouse/keyboard in center console, that way i can have the net, itunes, dvd ect. Now, ive had a look for another topic to help me and i honestly cant understand what anyone is talking about. what i want to know is how do i get the pc to get a signal to the speakers?!?, im guessing i will have to run it through an amp as the lappy wont have the power to run speakers but have no idea what i need or how i can do it... Is there some sort of car pc program that comes with a usb kit that will just plug right into an amp? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Me and a couple friends are all looking at getting new (well newer) cars, and since we have all just got off our P's we are looking at getting R34 GTT's. Now what we want to know is, is it less if we import and comply more than one car at a time? If anyone knows of some companys that deal with this sort of thing let me know. Cheers

Im doing a hub swap on a r33 gts4, by measuring the shafts ect ive figured that ill be using gts t rear hubs (28mm drive to hubs) as well as brakes front and back, and for the front hubs ill be using the front hubs form a r32 gtr (25mm drive to hubs), fromall the reasearch ive done thisshould work fine...i think...if you see a problem with it let me know as im looking to buy all this stuff to do the convertion this week.

I have hered that i can use r32 GTR hubs and they will fir on a r33, is this true? If you have any infomation on doing this please post here im realy lost and cant find any help anywhere!!

Hey All, I have recently got a GTS4 R33 that has the stock 4 stud hubs, I want to upgrade these to 5 stud (to allow for better brakes) and have been looking at getting some GTS-T hubs that will apparently just bolt on, but I have been thinking that the front hubs from a GTS-T wont have the connection to make them drive so am doubting that it will be as simple as first thought. Questions: Will I need to get some GTR hubs and will they just bolt on to my car? Could I get away with putting a set of rear GTS-T hubs at the front, and will they simply bolt on? I have looked through the forum with no luck as to what to do PLEASE HELP ME! Cheers

What else couldbe causing it to erraticly idle and some times stall?

How do i actualy clean it out, just starting to get into the mechanics of cars ect and not sure what you need to do to clean out the throttle body and air flow. If some one has some sort of step by step and some pics may help cheers!

Are all coil overs height adjustable? or just some makes?

Hey All, Looking to put a new sound system into my R33 and want to know if there are any other metal heads out there that could suggest speakers and subs that can keep up with a double kick. What I have planned out as far as speakers go is two sets of splits (front and back) as well as two 8" or 10" subs in the boot (smaller subs can apparently keep up a lot better). Also will be deadening the boot and doors are there any other places that need deadening, have herd under the back seat is also a source of rattles but haven’t heard about the side quarters. Also how much deadening will I need to do the doors and boot and possibly the back seat? Cheers

Can you get adjustable suspension that with adjust ride height? I know there are adjustable dampeners but not sure about ride height?!? If they do exist where can I get them in Melbourne and what am I expecting to pay for them? Cheers
