  1. I imagine the power limit would be similar to a - 5 setup on a 2.6 but very different cars to drive in the real world
  2. and considering people with RB28 -5 combos are shifting early anyway so in most cases not utilising the last few RPM in most road use. now imagine a - 9 set up in the 1500 to 4000 RPMs and would look fatter than -5s in that lower rpm range. throttle response would be sick on E85
  3. I noticed ages ago when the Garrett mobile app WAS working as latest update f**ked up my phone. I'd switch scenarios like different Power limits and rpm's and I noticed the - 9's were occasionally recommended to me over everything else. when I asked for about 650bhp max (from memory) at the fly with a limit of 8500rpm as it seems there's a narrow window in the 9's compressor map that allows for higher pressures in the later rpm's that fit the 2.8 nicely. anyone else spot this out
  4. I reckon -9's would punch nice and early pulling right out to 8500 rpm with no dramas and longevity would be good considering power would obviously be governed by the 9's
  5. similar to a Z-TUNE setup
  6. that's not delivered! it's about 5100 to 5300 including shipping and if customs see the value ad a LOT more!
  7. Out of pure curiosity has anyone used the smaller -7 or -9 (GT-SS) on a RB28? If so I would love to see any dyno sheet to see how the first half of the rev range looks. I've been through the Dyno Thread and can't recall anyone ever using that combo.
  8. if I was chasing massive power numbers I'd go nitto with full counter crank. best bank for buck if you're chasing maximum RPM and horsepower. (drag) I had no intention of revving my engine to the moon. My intention from the get go was to build a grunty responsive street car that could be used anywhere so for the price of a TOMEI KIT which comes with virtually everything for the rotating assembly it was a no brainer at that price.
  9. engine parts are only ever as good as the workshop that screws it together. I've seen first hand massive dollar equipment hand grenade on first run/dyno pull and on the other hand I have witnessed bone stock unopened motor's that had "claimed" to be built go on to produce over 400wkws for years. "I BELIEVE THE MAGIC IS IN THE ASSEMBLY "
  10. price difference from my 2.6 to 2.8 is sweet FA! 1000 - 1500max money well spent imo. why spend money cleaning up the old crank which was in good nic + balancing etc, I now have a new 2.8 one. I prefer the throaty note also.
  11. spoke to them already and they told me that they don't sell those particular rear housings separately. So I ask them "so what you do is just import the whole dash 5 from overseas as a complete unit and sell it at a profit" and they said yes, they do not make them here. I get nowhere with those guys
  12. I'd do it now if someone wanted to donate there old -5 rear housings to me lol.. where is the best place to buy JUST the -5 rear ex housing? who's cheapest?
  13. how did you go, did you get it all done?
  14. cops just raising the value of the Australian government shares again on the NY stock exchange,GRUBS
  15. That last picture looks like my 3 year olds sand castle bucket lol
  16. how old are the turbos? any recipets with purchase dates on there?
  17. what's that gunk?
  18. yeah and put the ceramic turbos back on @7psi, that's where it's at!
