  1. Ok so, what I've been thinking for a while now, is along with Brad's earlier idea (at least I think it was him anyway, can't remember who said what three pages back) and coupling with that email we all got about having to do driver training to stay in Sau, if we're getting more serious as a club (and I know i've only been around for a very short time), but wouldn't it be a good idea if we all had a set of stock parts you're likely to want to replace, and just had them set aside for pretending everybody's car is stock at the pits? For somebody with a big enough garage it'd be a synch, or we could rent one of those storage places in the middle of nowhere? I know a lot of people get busted for low coilovers and struggle to find them for the pits, or tyres or whatnot. I've got a few stock parts I've upgraded lying around and I'd be happy to contribute them to a general SAU pool of parts. *Middle of the night idea, so if it's shit, sorry for waffling. Uni programming assignments are bollocks*
  2. Hehe, man this got more attention than my infamous cruising idea a few months ago =] Just wanted to mention this firstly, you say your mum's buying a Merc, having had an Accord, which makes it sound like you come from one of those families who upgrade cars every few years. Now, I'm looking at a wikipedia page as we speak (....? dividing by zero here possibly, since it's the middle of the night), and so assuming your family's done this anytime in the last three years, means your Accord will be 06+. Now, where I'm actually going with this is, wikipedia says 06 Accords are measured at roughly 244hp, which I would like to point out is say 28hp more than my relatively stock 33. Now, I have a nice A'PEXi AVCR constantly giving me readouts, graphs, and all sorts of funky figures that you'd be silly to examine while you actually drove, except for one, percentage of throttle used. In a car less powerfull than yours, apart from taking off from lights, or occasionally overtaking people, my throttle doesn't stray anywhere near as 20%, and I'd say I drove pretty nippily, I don't hoon or do silly things, but I'm a firm beleiver in getting to the speed limit quickly, and driving quickly and efficiently, without being a dickhead. So, not to rip into you at all, but there is a point I think is coming from a completely different direction, and may be of some use. PS: Yes, to all the above posts, especially those about changing your attitude once you actually have a 'line. I'm still 18 and on green P's, and for months and months every time I saw a policeman, I got pulled over, breath tested, drugs tested, sat down, and interviewed about my car; and plus, one night on the way home from a cruise, I went around a wet corner, not too fast, and overcorrected, and payed $1500 to get my car running again, and off some lady's front lawn, and I drove slower then than my 12-20% throttle now.
  3. When I was there getting my first inspection the dude sitting next to me told me he had an S14 which'd failed Welshpool seven times ( ) and eventually he'd 'sold' it to a friend and driven to Brookton, took the sticker off, and just asked them to inspect it on the basis it was newly bought, and they were really good, since he kept getting done for things which weren't actually illegal at Welshpool. When he got it back he obviously 'bought' it back again. As much as that may well just be some dude boasting at the pits, could be an idea for this Seb guy?
  4. Yeah I'm coming up to get mine off hopefully, the window's a pain to fix, and they will get your for it man. I just fixed mine a few days ago, but the parts cost $180 Does anybody have a stock blow-off-valve I could borrow for my trip through? Also, how hard is tint to get off?
  5. Dude... R33's have defoggers? I couldn't see a thing all day! How do they work?
  6. So you always know that when a cop says to you "You've got an exhaust here" to which you reply the usual bemused "...yes?", and he says "well that's illegal", to which you reply "well it's quiet and not at all low, how can it possibly be illegal?" and you get the reply "well you tell me sonny!" that you're really in for one hell of a night... Got done for: Incorrect stearing wheel [Yes I spelled that right, and I'm pretty miffed about taking mechanical advice from somebody who can't spell steer] Stearing fluid leak [Fluid, around steering fluid vesicle is often found in the middle of storms when you've driven through puddles, only it's called water, pretty standard mod nowdays] Breakes *REPAIR* [Didn't get any insight onto what's wrong here either actually, pretty standard stock brakes that y'know... work 'n' all] And all of that got me an off-road-order. I'm just wondering, will they only check that list? Or do you get a whole vehicle inspection? I mean, that small list is easily fixed already, since most of it's bollocks, but do I have to go to the trouble of swapping back small mods to pass the pits?
  7. Dam... Was reading this *almost* in time to roll really really fast and get to the meet point, but read the dates wrong and thought it was tomorrow =[ Sucks sitting here reading about a cruise that is happening RIGHT now! PS: We need an open cruise soon, will be sporting ANGR33's sexy old 18"s, new front bar, a new wing 'n' coilovers since the last cruise =D
  8. ... Only because you don't know the answer. Don't post if it's not relevant.
  9. Nah I'm calling them in the morning, untill tonight I just figured it was low on fuel, but now it's clearly something not working.
  10. Howdy, My friend's family own a load of car shops out in the Kimberly's, but vaugely live here every now and again, and so whenever I've gotten work done it's been via somebody they've 'vetted' for me. And this started off all well, but then the things that this one workshop have done just always seem to go wrong. I got a new clutch, and that was in for 4-5 days before it completely stopped connecting. They've sinced fixed that for free. Later on, I got them to put a fuel pump in, a 550hp Walboro one. Now, they said to me that it would "never need to be replaced" and wouldn't break untill I ran more than 550hp... Which, true to it's namesake seems to make sense. So, last night, annoyingly on the way to get fuel, my car ran out and is sitting in a carpark not 2 metres from where it stopped. I've since put new fuel in. That did nothing. I then figured that it was probably high time my fuel filter was replaced, since that was fairly high up the list of things I need, as it could well've been pretty dirty. That did nothing. I then phoned the first mechanic in my phonebook, who told me to pull out a fuel line, check if anything actually came through, and then go from there. I pulled one out, decided that there definitely wasn't fuel coming through, and the whole proceedure did - as I'm getting used to - nothing. The engine turns over, and everything seems to be in order... Except there's absolutely diddly-squat petrol in there. So now I'm wondering, on a month old fuel pump, is it reasonable to have it die because I ran out of fuel? Should it be under warranty? Does it sound to anybody as if I've completely and utterly missed the point and something else is broken?
  11. Firstly, a guy my friend works with (already beginning with a most reliable and close source of knowledge, yes) sold his S13 to buy an old-school BMW. Pulled up at some lights, and the guys in a massive truck pulled up and asked if he'd got a light. He said he hadn't, because (as far as I know) his car doesn't actually have that capability. So, sitting in a convertible's a pretty vulnerable place to be, and this truck full of builder-types start abusing him and chasing him; by the time he'd gotten away he'd run 6-7 red lights and hit 160ks. I've never really had any trouble like this to be honest, but what I can say is this; dickhead drivers annoy me to NO end, and when I see people doing this, quite often I just drop it behind them, chuck on the high beams, and chill out. I genuinely like being albe to see stuff, so I'm not fussed, and practically NOBODY has headlights as bright as me is seems. That said, the constant calls for burnouts I get are insatiable, and just downright annoying. JUST BECAUSE YOU RIDE A PUSHBIKE IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT I HAVE TO MAKE UP FOR IT BY DOING THE SKIDS YOU'RE INCAPABLE OF FOR YOU!
  12. Seriously well done to whoever spotted this =] I read the post, went and bought pizza, and when I cam back it'd been found! Woo!! Good luck with it all man, hope that it'll live another day to completely and utterly trump my 33 in the Uwa carparks this semester.
  13. Just firstly I'd like to ask; did anybody else thing that that security gaurd seemed pretty smashed? Slurring all over the place and replying with "Wellllll I don't f**kin' know?..." to questions. A bit odd? I think though, that there are two issues here really, which have both been expressed but we're confusing the two. On the whole it is an absolute abuse of power to say that the police "will arrive in force and impound literally every vehicle". Clearly, there is no legislation allowing police to impound groups of drivers because they feel like it, or simply on a whim. And even if they showed up and decided to do vehicle inspections, they still have ot suspect you of a crime before they have a right to do so. And sure enough they can and probably will, but I'm quite sure questioning police's judgment wouldn't be out of line, and I'm quite sure that I don't want to find police out there pushing their own agenda - because when that happens then you really do know they've seen all the movies. We all pay taxes too, and with the effort police go to bring down 'hoons' they could seriously be doing much better things - I remember being at crashed house parties with the usual few hundred gatecrashers, and having a pretty full on riot, which took five 000 calls and an hour before ONE police car showed up. On the other hand, yeah, 'we' probably shouldn't be doing burnouts at the airport. To that intent, friday's map had a stop out in the hills, away from everything, and would've been well off the radar if we'd been bothered to finish it. So, a time and place would've been forthcomnig, but finishing that map seriously wasn't high on the agenda. I'm still unsure whether the cop we saw was one of the 'good' ones or not, but it definitely warrants thinking about. For the moment I still think it's an empty threat, and I'm sure a judge looking at it seeing a cruise of say 40+ cars impounded, when they were all just parked at a meet point isn't going to go down well. Not sure I added anything new, but hey.
  14. Tobin's going to be down there man. A few of you may recognise him as the dude who's taken photos at cruises before, and has got the 'LULZORS' plates.
  15. Ok, quick note; there's apparently the "ryding dirty cruise" that night as well, meeting at Citywest. They're meeting at 8:30, leaving 9:30, since we're starting later, and to avoid confusion, if they're inside - we'll take outside, if they're outside - we'll take inside. Make sense? Open to suggestions here.
  16. Yeah eTuned do heaps of this don't they? N.O.R. meets mean that whever runs from there will pretty much spend their entire night just driving along the freeway man. That, and the dudes who come from way north quite often end up making their own meet points prior to the cruise anyway. Hope that helps =]
  17. New thread to clear this all up (Thanks Rhys) Cruise for friday night, as in tomorrow =] Meet; N.O.R. Citywest carpark, 9pm meet, 9:30 depart S.O.R. Leach Hwy McDonalds, Mellville, 9pm meet, 9:30 Have fun, Tim
  18. haha, post pictures! Cj and I are going to go 'n' run it in a few hours once traffic settles down =] 19th is friday, incase everybody's as bad with dates as I am. Just to reiterate; Meet; N.O.R. Citywest carpark, 9pm meet, 9:30 depart S.O.R. Leach Hwy McDonalds, Mellville, 9pm meet, 9:30 Also reaper83, sucks to hear about your yellow man Hope it comes off easily.
  19. Depending on whether you beleive the signs on shops or Perth suburb guides it's Myaree or Melvile dude. Just next to North Lake rd
  20. We'll head off from each meet point at 930, as per usual dude =]
  21. Ahh yeah sorry about just stamping you and Cj on that man, if all fails... Blame me =] Channel 16 again on the radios? I finish exams on tuesday and between then and Friday I'll run all the different maps/ideas and put together the best ones for the cruise, since weeknights aren't very interesting. Again, sorry for just landing that on you man, figured you'd want in on it.
  22. Wow... Thanks for feedback guys. Nathan I'll definitely be organising for the Friday the 19th, since it seems to work better fridays. And general talk of a monthly cruise sounds good. Meet at 9.00pm SOR: Tobin do you wanna take this one? Leech Hwy McDonalds NOR: Citywest carpark. *I may see if I can shanghai another friend to set up a meet point further out towards the hills, so if anybody's interested hit us up with a comment so we can work out numbers* Everybody's both welcomed and encouraged to bring friends and non-SAU import drivers, whether as passengers or drivers All 'round should be fun.

  24. Righto, so it's pretty obvious that this whole Northhbridge thing isn't going to go ahead. GTS-t VSPEC, I can see where everybody's coming from on the epic failure that they're all expecting, but y'know... You look in the wasteland, on any thread to do with police, or threads about other drivers, and (sorry about how much this sounds like I'm pretending to be an old kung-fu guru) all you see is hate. Sure, most of the "stupidest thing you've..." posts are funny, they're moreso infuriating because we're all here because we drive nice looking, and well performing cars. When cool cars drive down the road, I still get pretty excited to look at them 'n' all, and so I figure, for the effort it'd take from us, would it be so hard to drive past populated areas on cruises and have our fun showing off, and possibly raise our own reputation with general public for at least entertaining them for those four or five minutes that we drove past? It doesn't have to specifically be there, but eeven just driving down Rockeby road would possibly be cool, for the attention we'd garner. *End kung-fu guru rant* Anyway, CJ and I've been driving around a lot lately just looking for cool places to put on the map, or things to make the cruise interesting, so it should be wicked regardless! And for SweeT, all imports are fine =] As per usual, NO EXCELS WITH MASSIVE CARBON FIBER WINGS. Seriously, one nearly slaughtered me last night =]
  25. Righto so, while Olivia's away and not doing anything Cj, Tobin, and I are going to hopefully try and keep up the cruise organisation that she's been doing. Hoping to run this on either the 19th/20th of June, depending on which has the most interest. Either that, or we really can just run two cruises, since it's the weekend exams finish! Just a thought though is that, since Citywest is a big meet point, how would everybody feel driving down one of the main strips in Northbridge on our way somewhere? I've been talking to Cj and Ben about this and our feelings were... Pro's: It'll look really cool (Always good) We can go straight to a freeway afterwards Con's: Police on every single corner/road/alleyway/club/pub/nook anc cranny. Drunk people EVERYWHERE. Anyway, feedback on that would be wicked, if it's too much we can always just avoid the whole place =]
