  1. One of mine's response was "WOW, your girlfriend must have no tits at all!" Rock hard Tien coilovers =D
  2. It's on the corner of Buxton street and Scarborough Beach Road =D You should hear it from a little distance, but it's next to a car yard, and down an *ahem* seedy alleyway.
  3. Yeah, would've been easier if they didn't turn off the lights at every single meet point =P
  4. Thanks for the info guys. Guess I should really be looking for more vac work soon then =]
  5. Oh, and sorry to hijack your thread OP =]
  6. Oh ok, cheers for that. A lot of UWA engineers are pretty naff I find (I go to UWA, but spent a semester at Curtin earlier on) but I also thought that I got babied quite a large amount at Curtin when I was there. Certainly I have to work a lot harder at uwa, and having handed in literally exactly the same project at each uni (I didn't get credited for a project unit and had to do exactly the same project twice) I had a high distinction at Curtin and an average pass at Uwa. That said, a good friend of mine from Uwa argued once for hours that cars wouldn't possibly have fuses in them for any of the appliances.... I imagine that Uwa's more make or break, either you'd be really good, or terrible at the end, Curtin a bit more solid. That said, I can't imagine that it would make much difference after a while would it?
  7. Awesome dude. I made the decision to go mechanical the day before semester stated and changed my entire degree course and never looked back, much better than what I'd chosen before (civil... ugh). s2d4 - That's interesting, I've heard a lot that it's just pen-pushing chumps who organise CPE but didn't realise that nobody really had it. What sort of qualifications do people actually need and have then?
  8. Sounds wicked man, didn't get to see you drive unfortunately 'n' couldn't work out who you were at meet points, car's looking nice though =D Which turbo did you go with in the end?
  9. Broken link bro, all I see is the general site structure around the edge and that man lying down on a trolley with a suspiciously places screwdriver... Or maybe I just went to my homepage? =P
  10. Somebody mentioned The Moon (awesome), if you get there and find that it's full of football players (highly unappealing) head to the Mt Lawley Jazz Cellar, this'll trip you out if you've been getting baked in the carpark. Entrance is through this bizarrely iluminated telephone box which, when you walk in, carries on through the wall, down some stairs and opens into a sweet underground 50's jazz club.
  11. Also JuLiuz I saw you posted a lot on turbo choice forums when I was choosing mine. did you end up upgrading? Would be very keen to see what you ended up with if you'd let me have a look under the hood =P
  12. Going with a few friends. Love antilag cruises personally. They're more balls-out, but a lot of fun
  13. My (very limited) understanding was that CPEng was harder to get, or 'above' being in IE Aust? Bottom line is that I'd like to get my name on that list at some point to give a bit back at some point =]
  14. My understanding is that you can't sign off anything you own isn't it? Memos which uni are you at?
  15. This is EXACTLY why I can't wait to have my CPEng. A few posts on forums, and an afternoon of carton-priced engineering certificates later, all would be well =]
  16. ^ ^ Really? They changed mine over and disposed of 'em for free last time, after I bought new tires and got 'em balanced. That bit was kinda expensive, but it rolls incredibly now =D
  17. Man you really like starting sentences with the word 'however' huh? =P
  18. Hang on, so if the pedal feels normal it means that it's more likely to be the hydraulics? Just asking this because I'm having a similar problem and I've done a master and clutch cylinder and nothing's changed. Odd?
  19. Depending on whether Kensie/Allstar Garage really do have the massive waiting lists they say they do I could be down for this =D
  20. If you're looking to save say, your head unit, I have an old school (tape deck) that came doubled up in mine sitting around that you can have to throw in in place of yours man =]
  21. Actually...... Just realised there is one. Sorry!
  22. Just realised how many clutch posts there are... If there's a thread with a good list in it could we maybe get it sticky'd? =D
  23. Howdy, So it's almost exactly a year on from the day that I bought my skyline, and discovered, while driving up the hill to my house that the clutch on it was slipping wildly. Needless to say that some quite expensive things went bang under the bonnet (this is a pretty serious hill y'know). So I did as you would do, and bought a HD clutch. I was assured that this one would "never brake" and would "outlive the car". I speak of course, of the retrospecitely mediocre Xtreme Drift Clutch. After putting that in, it had master cylinder problems, adding to the clutch's repertoire that the pedal now stuck to the floor without any aid from my foot... A decidedly poor move. With that fixed it seemed like all was well... Sort of. I've just come back from working up north to find that once again my car-outliving clutch is slipping. With this in I've gone on a modicum of cruises, and generally driven to uni and back a bit, so having worn through it's "excellent holding characteristics" is a bit naff. Anyway, without ripping it out, Xtreme can't tell me if it's garuanteed or not, and to be honest I'm not so sure I'd really like another one, especially not if it's installed by the same people I was recomended to last time. So my question is this: what kind of clutches have other people had that you'd recomend again? I've got quite a growing collection of parts to put on an tune with, hoping to see about 400rwhp, so obviously it'll obviously have to hold that. I'm not at all put off by it being a bit of a cop to drive, as long as it works and handles really nicely when it's under load and it needs to. Any advice would be great =D Sorry I know this has probably been covered a billion times...
  24. Big big BIG +1 for no ceramic clutch. Mine's just gone actually, driving sedately as anything and having been told "this will never break"
  25. If you don't mind looking like a farmer or a tradesman look over the episode of Top Gear trying to kill an old mechanical hilux [talking about zero electronics here, except obvioulsy lights/battery etc]. That and, dare I say it, I've had mates with Skylines, and daily Excels that have overcome some phenominal situations.
