  1. Yeah I realised that. but still... How?!?! You were lucky if traffic was moving y'know?
  2. LOL at that picture. Hbf are such bastards for cancelling my full comp unexpectedly last week =P Also, did anybody see all the popo on stirling highway at about 7? Every few minutes there was another car screaming down with it's disco lights going. How on earth would you have managed to commit a crime in weather like that? Puddle burnouts?
  3. Just found out this morning that all my panels which looked dandy when it was wet are in fact golf ball material =\ Also, group buy on windscreens? UWA got hit pretty seriously hard, as I was leaving my tut at about 430 I had to run down a flodded corridor. A bit of a pansy you might think... Until I mentioned that as I was getting into that corridor I literally had to shove the ceiling out of the way of the door to get through it, and then bolt as the rest of the ceiling came down after me. Going fast on the way home meant idling in first, and if I was lucky I could also stop braking occasionally =] Saw a dude's carport (with his car in it) flooded so that you couldn't even see his wheels it was that deep
  4. Well you've got a stock ECU right? I don't know about where you are, but $900 over here is as cheap as you'd get anything done to a stock ECU. That's Nistune, as far as I know. My tuner'd charge about 500ish for a complete overhaul with my Vi-Pec, but that's after having forked out 1.8k to get that far...
  5. Anthony how's this all going? Have you managed to get it all on the car yet? I'm picking up my 3076 in 3-4 days, with one of these v-band housings and an external gate, and I'm still desperately trying to work out what else I actually need for it? Everybody seems to have different opinions and the one dude who I was banking on to make a dump pipe doesn't answer his phone... Anyway, very interested to see your results man =D
  6. Oh cool. I just meant it was cool people were putting up lots of in-car footage at the moment. How do you mount them?
  7. When do deposits need to be in? I've mentioned I'd like to start hitting tracks in a few threads, with the word 'soon' being the drawback, but I get paid in two weeks and can finish buying parts and maybe tune in time =D Sucks being on student wages
  8. I went to autoworx a few weeks after that dyno day and they were still talking about that run actually =D Nice video, it's cool people are starting to put these up at the moment
  9. +1 to Bubba. Soon I'll be there too!
  10. I know I'm not from SA, but seriously, I've not had a phone for two months, out workin' in the desert. HOW f**kING HARD WOULD IT BE TO DO EMAIL QUOTES!?!?! I had really good insurance with HBF until they decided they only liked my car for $5,200. I told them I was going to look elsewhere but continue on that policy until I found a better one, now, they're telling me that it could just randomly have been cancelled (why?), and I've no idea when that ended, so the "have you been insured for the last month" box is firmly ticked = MASSIVE PREMIUMS. So defeated. Looking probably at third party property insurance, so at least I'm not going to be saddled with debt if I crash. Thing is, I can afford insurance, but just finding a company that'll actually (a) insure me until I'm 25, and (b) insure my car for enough that it's even close to market value is just impossible. *sigh* =[
  11. Hi there, A bit of background: I've just swapped over from my stock ECU to a Vi-Pec. At the moment it's not properly tuned, and is just running a map from a similarly modded car, but even still, well out-performs my stock ecu. I'd just been using the AVCR and Apexi electronic spedo to monitor things previously, but now my Vi-Pec does most of that, and so the AVCR's a bit redundant for controlling stuff. So my question is this: if you had to pick 3-4 (or any number you'd prefer) essential gauges, what would they be? I've already got two 60mm GReddy ones, measuring boost, and exhaust temp. that were given to me from a friend, so I'm just wondering what else might be useful, and what my tuner might appreciate? Cheers, Tim PS: MODS, didn't know where best to put this sorry.
  12. I hope you're getting just as good a response from this over in Japan!
  13. mad082, are you talking about the gaps where there are bends/lines in the body panels? I actually really like those, they're more defined on GTR's and I think that's part of what makes them look nicer than gtst's, so leaving those lines is really doing it for me =D Although to be honest all of this is doing it for me anyway. It's just a matter of opinion I guess?
  14. How much are you paying for that though? You've got Jason's old car right?
  15. You, my friend, are incredibly lucky! If only my car wasn't black already I'd be considering this =D
  16. PM'd you my entry just now Tritty! =]
  17. Probably don't do what I did. I intentionally bought a lemon, so I could have fun fixing it, but it's a lot of work. Still good fun though. Also, I was really looking for a 32, but couldn't find a nice one/wasn't patient enough to, and got a 33 instead. In retrospect I'd rather have saved a bit more, and gotten a 32 GTR or something. 33's are nice and pretty much drive themselves though, but 32s mean you instantly have moral high ground =D Oh, and I don't know about other models, but so many people have crashed/wrecked 33's that you wont want for a part that you can't find in the next decade or so. I'm with Renegade's last suggestion, if he's got cash/patience, I'd go a 32, since they're light and just seem more fun.
  18. The ol' "mildly modified 33"? Reasonably good nick. Was more interested in the market value that insurance companies will be going with like Kaido is talking about.
  19. WHAT!?! That's at least 3-4 times what I get? *Goes home to cut fuel gauge off*
  20. Cheers, Thanks Rod, I'll be looking into that when I get home. Just out of curiosity, what do people think the market value actually is? I saw a completely stock 33 [i think this was actually less than had come out of the factory, had lots removed] for for 15k a few months ago. Thanks for the help
  21. That sounds good. I'm onsite now but might make the march date. I'll book if I have a car ready to drive in time =]
  22. Also, how keen are you on people new to the track? I'm pretty keen but a bit wary of turning up places where I'm expected to be a driving wizard or something?
  23. I'd be interested in this. I'm about to get semi-complete on my build so track outings would be good. How regular are they?
  24. Does it still go full when you accellerate Tobin?
