  1. Didn't wanna put a name down but if it helps i got it from Woolies, im sure Coles, IGA or Franklins would have it too. Its a stainless steel cleaner i think, it would be next to the floor cleaners, oven cleaners or shower cleaners. Headlights are still clean and its been 2 days. Please use it at your own risk, but there shouldn't be a risk as it has done nothing but clean mine. I will try using it on my exhaust tip soon, as it is a metal cleaner too .
  2. Can someone please check 6U9000ECR33105634 ? Many thanks.
  3. Famous doesn't insure cars anymore? Or am i missing something.... The site only displays insurance for bikes.
  4. Damn i just noticed i posted this here! Can a mod please move it to "Cosmetic Styling and Respray" please, that's where i thought i was posting this! Thanks.
  5. Was walking towards my car during my lunch break at work. I had parked my car in a spot where a u turn is possible because the island in the middle of the two lane ends there. I know it's not the smartest place to park but it was almost a 4 lane road and cars are always parked there! Anyway, some dumbsh*t was trying to make a u-turn in a 4WD, something like a land cruiser. The reason i don't know exactly what the car was is because it didn't occur to me at first that he had touched my car, i was around 50m away walking across lanes to get there (road is not busy at all), he hit the brakes hard and that made more noise than him actually hitting the car so i never heard it, I just suspected it. The guy spotted me walking in his direction, he knew i witnessed what happened so he floored it down the road, i got to my car ( walking quickly at this point ) and noticed what he had left behind, my heart rate spiked . I got in the car and gunned it, didn't even let the poor girl warm up! =[, she was hesitating at first but she picked up after the first left turn 100m away, however by then the guy was out of sight ( its either a left turn or right turn but i didn't know which one he took), i chose to turn left and gunned it up the road but never saw him again, i had to get back to work too so that was the end of it. Basically this is what i'm left with, after cleaning the area up. I'm lucky that's all that happened, paint isn't damaged much, its the panel. I do not want a re-spray, the way i see it my options are: Repair it, take it to a shop or get a mobile dent romval business to come and fix it. Change the panels, get a new door and guard. Can't think of many more options at the moment. Anyone got an idea of what to do from here? How bad does it look (in terms of difficulty to repair and so on..)? There wasn't a ding on the car before this =[, she was soooo clean!
  6. Alright I know this has been covered, but I have just used a product which I don't think has been covered here yet and I wanted to show what it can do. First a before picture (I forgot to take one right before the clean!), you can see the cloudiness on the drivers side lens. Now some after! The product is called Brasso and here it is: First try it in a small area (should be fine because all it did was clean the heck out of mine). Apply with a cloth, I used a microfibre cloth, let it dry to a haze (takes <10 seconds), then wipe it off with a clean cloth! Let me know how it goes, you can get the product from any supermarket I think, in the cleaning section. I don't know if all metal polishers work, all I know is this one did. I have not gone around to sealing the lens yet, but when I do I'll give it a clean again.
  7. Love the black-ness of your 33 Andy, tints go well with it too. How about a black mesh infornt of the intercooler? Just a thought.
  8. I gave it a try with my new skillz? Could be done better but this def helps imagine it.
  9. +1 for the list of 'great shops' in Sydney. Got my car with a remote central locking system, i don't know if there's something wrong with it or with the actuator in the drivers door, but this thing is annoying! Car will lock and un-lock most of the time with the remote, but sometimes it decides not to listen to me, and i have to use the key to get in the car. Sitting inside the car, it locks the car doors for me when i hit the brakes after 12 seconds or so of the car being turned on, and it is supposed to un-lock the doors when the turbo timer shuts off, but it doesn't do this all the time. I need this thing gone! Need something reliable in it's place. The most annoying bit is that the actuator in the drivers door is always making a noise, every 7ish seconds or so, like its trying to lock or unlock unsuccessfully. A piece of paper came with the car showing the wiring diagram of the unit and also how it is supposed to operate. It says that lights are supposed to flash when i lock or un-lock, doesn't do that at all. I don't want to try and play with it, would rather it be stripped off the car, and a new alarm+central locking system put in place that meets insurance companies standards. This is why i need that list , because if i don't find a great place to take it, i'll rather live with what i have.
  10. Only reason i'd get those is for the tyres... don't see those volks suiting a skyline at all. Those tyres are discontinued i think as weel, my R33 came with them when i bought it, loved them but couldn't get anymore. Maybe sell them separately? Only posted because this things been here for 4 months.
  11. I've been on photoshop since that post and I've found out how to do it . Now i can't stop doing it...
  12. I HAVE to learn how you did that colour conversion so neatly....
  13. Yeh thanks for your input bud. There's a pic i took for a little more detail if you needed it.
  14. Yeh, that little traingle piece which sticks out of your door once your window is all the way down, it's a good place to put them. I will get a pic of it tomorrow if i remember. If they're all black you won't even notice it much and if you do it looks clean and stock almost.
  15. Just amazing, my fav model (R33), in my fav colour, in all it's glory. I LOVE this car. That front on picture is so perfect it makes me feel like I'm back in the 90's and that car just rolled out of the showroom. Sucks being a uni student when you see things like these! Haha. I'd say good luck but damn, why would you need it?
  16. Dude wth 8k? You're cars so similar to mine with a small slice of tastefull mods (mine being almost bone stock), i wouldn't go below $9500 with mine firm... it just hit 140k few days ago. Sad to see the offers some people throw at you, don't let them make you drop the price, if your urgent then i guess you'll budge but if not then just use it till it gets sold at the price your after, the buyer will come. If i didn't have one i'd definitely consider this!
  17. Really like the GTR resemblance, good luck!
  18. I figured out what mine was, when i shift into reverse flimsily (if that makes sense), the reverse lights don't always turn on, i need to give it a slight touch pushing it to the left, in the direction of the passenger seat, and it flicks on with no problems. So basically, if i shift into reverse and pull to the right a bit, the light is off, if i leave it in the middle it could flicker, but if i push it to the left and leave it, then it's always on. So i don't see a problem with mine because all i need to do is shift a little bit more purposefully and it'll work. PS: Don't need to hold it in the left position to keep it on, just a push into that position secures it there.
  19. Thanks everyone for your feedback. I don't mind buying another set if i have to, i was planning on getting a new pair but i guess i have been lazy, i really wanted to change and flush my oil that day so i used what i had. I read their load specs before i used them, can't remember them right now, but it was enough to convince me it was safe, especially with 2 of them and a jack there too. Blue_vl_t : That was what i was thinking, surface was flat and the force seemed to only go staight down to the base. I was more worried about that metal pin that holds the level, thought it was going to snap! But it held very well (obviously). New stand are on the shopping list, but i was more concerned about the placement of them so that i would not harm my car in any way. Thanks again all.
  20. Cheers for the input Andy, also I'm sorry i misled you, must have taken so much effort to click through and look at a couple pictures. I was thinking to put something in between too, next time i JACK it up. GoHard: Isn't the crossmember where i am jacking the car from? That flat metal piece under the engine, that's where i put the wood and jacked the car from. It's a little hard to come from the front of the car as my plastic under tray doesn't give enough clearance, thus i went in from the side (might be able to go from the front once i get a thicker piece of wood to drive the car onto). So i should place the stands where i placed the hydraulic jack, with some wood to help spread the weight?
  21. Going through the booklet, it seems like it is directed to skylines from the R32 to the R34.
  22. Hey all, So i was going through some of my service papers/receipts and booklets that were given to me when i purchased my car, and i found a couple of things that might be of use to some of you. Here they are: Engine Maintenance Schedule. Chassis & Body Maintenance Hope it helps, comments welcome regarding how accurate these are.
  23. Hey all, just want to know if this looks ok to you all. It's ok to Jack the car from that position and to have it sitting on those stands in that position? Thanks.
  24. I have a similar issue, but different in a way. I haven't checked it completely, but when i put the car into reverse and start reversing, the reverse lights blink, they're not on or off, they're blinking. I'll look to see if it's a random blink or if there is a steady pattern and when it starts to blink.
