Ogura Clutch Super Light Flywheel
Bass Junky replied to Bass Junky's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Would you mind letting me drive it around the block?? Where are you located? -
It pumps about 300 -350 kW at the fly. 6 speed hollinger H pattern box, which by the way, is quite a tart to change with in a hurry. They get up and boogie that's for sure.

Ogura Clutch Super Light Flywheel

What was the price on that kit?? What was the difference in feel?? -
I've done this too! Isn't it a buzz! The car is a VX SS Commdore with all things racing, apart from the dash and the off tap engine. Big arse brakes, Big arse suspension and all the fruit. I've also driven the Formula Ford cars with "UdriveVic" and that's even better!! Glad you had a ball. BASS OUT

Ogura Clutch Super Light Flywheel

Does anybody in Melbourne have a Skyline with a light weight flywheel who would be interested in letting me drive their car around a car park for 1 minute. I don't want to 'test drive' anybody's car, I just want to see what the flywheel is like during gear changes etc. as I need to drive customers around in my car and I need to 'play' with one to see if it's suitable. Any takers?? BASS OUT -
Has anybody clocked this as I cannot get past the part where you are the cop and you follow Charlie Jolsen to a wharehouse and you have to hide or something, and it's shitting me up the wall. BASS OUT

Swap for a S-AFC2 plus a little bit of cash? -
Hey ppls. I'm going to buy one of those Ogura Super Light Flywheels, and I have checked the website takakaira and it only lists versions for the R32 and the R33 RB25DETT engines and they have different part numbers. Are they the same? I have an R-34 GT-t so I'd like to make absolutely certain that I can get the right one. Anyone know if the flywheels are the same in all three or are they all different?? BASS OUT

Such is life eh! Could have been much much worse.

Nah, its a canary, if you have three things you need to get yourself a full RWC from a mechanic. A single thing is just a 1 minute check at Vicroads

Nah, this copper was on the ball. He was sitting on the side of the road on Springvale road on top of the Eastern freeway just watching people drive past, decided I looked as good as any, so he pulled me over up near tunstall square, and I was carefull not to park anywhere illegal!!! Then he pulled out the breatho (at 11 am on a Sunday) and then pulled out a wodden stick with a roller on the end which is 100mm diameter. Said all the official stuff, and rolled it right under my middle muffler and sure enough its about 10 mm too low. He checks under my bonnet for any "after market blow off valves or things like that" of which there were none. tells me that he will give me a canary but not fine me etc. etc. and he was acutally quite reasonable. He was in a Blue Highway "Safety Car" and knew his stuff. Bit of a pain in the arse being done, but he couldn't have been more up front, honest, calm and actually quite a nice guy. Anyway, time to put the stock exhaust back on!! BASS OUT

nuck nuck nuck nuck

Bloody exhaust being too low. Just lucky that I had the silencer in I guess. No fine just have to get it fixed. Probably the easiest I could possibly get out of it! BASS OUT

Disconnect this sensor and gain POWER!
Bass Junky replied to turbomad's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Steve, What's this Dyno 2003 software.... You say you could calculate figures and adjust timing and overlap and stuff? Could you put the figures of an R-34 GT-t into it and figure out why my engine didn't gain any power with four degrees retard on the exhaust cam?? BASS OUT -
Just had Cam Gear fitted, Results
Bass Junky replied to Bass Junky's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yep, I'm beginning to think that. THe turbo is also slightly bigger on the R-34 GT-ts but I think the cam specs and cam timing would also be optimised -

Sydney kid. Watch this space, as I am currently building the cash for a Power FC. All results will be shared. -

Here's the Dyno Charts First (Dyno with and without silencer) is the first run before any work was done. It shows the power with the silencer in and out. You can quite obviously see the 20kW and 0.1bar (1.5 psi) of difference. I was expecting this, and it really shows the value of a good exhaust. Second (Dyno with and without cam gear) is the runs with the cam gear installed and then the subsequent runs again trying to extract some power from it, but obviously not luck. The car was strapped to the rollers the whole time and was worked on in the dyno cell. During this period the car was pinging quite readily as the fuel was Ampol "Premium" from Bendigo and the operator could induce pinging at 2500 rpm, standard computer was pulling timing a bit during this period, but all the lines are exactly the same, so there was no obvoius gain. Third (Dyno final with Optimax) is the final run after the tank had been drained and some optimax was fitted. Again, no gain and the shape of the graph is identical to all others. You can also see the A/F Ratios richen right up in the top range. So there you have it, and expensive day on the dyno for sweet FA. The only comfort I can seem to come by is that maybe the difference in the weight of the standard pulley compared to the HKS one might give me a slight advantage due to reducing the rotating mass. Anyway, I hope you can glean something from this all those R-34 drivers. Maybe the differnt cams and heads in our cars make adjustable cam gears redundant. I think I remember somebody saying that cam timing is how nissan retricted the cars in power, so with the magix 208kw in the R-34, the timing was optimized. Now to go and fit a Power FC to try to fiddle with it some more!! BASS OUT -

CR34tion. The guys accross the road do a lot of work on GTR's, they have actually just rebuilt a RB26DETT from an R-32. the other people who I would suggest is Hyper-Tech Autosports in Vermont. They just serviced my car and they prepare a lot of Targa cars, and race cars, and have a very professional workshop. They are at www.hyper-tech.com.au Tell them I sent you. BASS OUT

R-33 or R-34 We want details. Why don't you take it to where I took mine? Or the guys accross from my work could also have a look at it.
