  1. or more to the point the same as my cropped turbine wheel...doh!! Back to the drawing board
  2. yep, something just ccured to me also the housing of a 3037 isnt going to be the same as a 2835 is it?
  3. just remember the nail that sticks out gets hammered keep your mods sedate ,keep the car quiet and drive with the traffic not ahead of it and you shouldnt have too much stress. I've been pulled over a few times and have not had a problem with my car but unfortunately others think its great to have loud lary cars and drag race princes hwy on friday nights.
  4. congratulations but its FWD.. Me and my mates used to have bomb races, I had an 82 leone, piad 900, there was a 81 honda civic he paid 800 and a gemini they were all manual and all slow as f**k, we would line em up and see who could hit 100kmph first, it was like real racing in slow motion my old ute had 480 on the clock when I traded it. in its lifetime it went through, 3 sets of tyres, 2 clutches; 3 sets of front brake pads; 1 new head. Plus lots of oil and spark plugs : i used to flog it pretty hard and carry 1 tonne plus loads,it was still running great when I sold it but was blowing a bit of smoke, may have needed new rings soon but would of cranked out another 50,000kms easy probably more and the suspension bushes and shockies were fairly shot, like driving a tugboat it rocked n rolled around alot ,there is plenty worse cars on the road though . But It felt a bit unsafe to me so i got a new one with airbags
  5. dont get the vmx-80.. I did cause it was cheap but its junk, well its ok once it warms up, but it takes half an hour to warm up Get a multigrade, Ill be getting the syntrans or even the penrite gear oil is ok too I think, it feels good in my diff anyway
  6. you mean like me
  7. ooo..my thread came back.. believe it or not I scored a HKS housing, i think its my best option and worked out about the same price as all the other options but I have no dump so I might have to invent one Its only going to make whatever my clutch will handle though but will be interesting to see how much difference going from a crappy .64 to a quality .68 will make ...stay TUNED!!
  8. why? put the bilsteins back in
  9. I was actualy wondering this today , so it is ok to turbo a 25de head? Also is there any advantage to running a 25 head on an NA rb30?
  10. I saw the new zero tolerance speed camera being trialed in Victora today
  11. yeah I've never had a problem with Vicpolice , plenty of fines but never a problem
  12. really, how old? i saw a police cae come off the morelamd rd on ramp onto citilink with no sirens or lights and cut through 4 lanes of traffic without indicating. Now if his car is as quick as mine coming down a freeway offramp im guessing he was doin 170kmph possibly more. But whos counting right would be interesting to know what the russh was but Im sure he had good reason
  13. no ,no, no its not.. I seen a police hyundai i30 today... that is what all police should be driving if you ask me, until then their war on hoons is nothing but hypocritical...
  14. why not just ask the guys at the laser wreckers for a bargain bomb. tell them you work next door they should look after you ok..they're a good little car and support is right next door if you need it.it will also use lot less fuel than a 3lt skyline. my mate had an old KA laser with flat top pistons and some head work and it flew. see if the headgasket is gone it means you have to take the head off, with all these little old cars you simply send the head away for some porting and tougher springs and shave it for higher compression and you will have a little rocket,it really is that easy with little four bangers as long as your compression is good .Sure it wont beat a skyline in a straight line but they make great little zippy cars that are lots of fun corner great and are easy to park. Much more fun than a boring 3lt auto tank if you ask me If you tell the guys at the wrecker this is what your looking for I reckon they would help you out..
  15. Selling your skyline huh!! GTFO WE DONT LIKE YOU ANYMORE !!!
  16. yeh a leaky rocker gasket is the least of your worries.. from my experience just drive the car and you will know straight away if it still feels smooth to drive. If anything feels clunky or whines just move to the next car as there are definately bargains to be found. An r31 will be easier to live with probably and they are built to run on unleaded escorts were made to run on super, you can just add the additive but yeah thats just another thing to worry about.. Escorts are more of an old enthusiasts scene now, r31s are still just bunkies..lol . Plenty of people are enthusiastic about them though and if you want info there will be more online because a younger generation of people own them and play with them still. I Imagine parts will be easier to source as well..Anything you learn is easily transfered over to other skylines I thought you were looking for a small car though
  17. What do you mean they feel flat.. I believe they are built to last 200,000kms+ and then some so unless they are broken or really, really old they should be fine
  18. I think the reason alot doubt on the redline is because it is made for racing not daily driving so there is no real need to put it in a street car..same goes for stuff like motul 300v chrono engine oil.its not designed for driving to the shops its designed to go round a track at 200+kmph so putting it in your daily is not only a waste of money it could potentially do more harm than good so the question is what are you using the car for.. anyway there is a whole thread on driveline oils if you cant figure it out for yourself you havent read the thread properly and asking again here isn't going to give you a NEW answer because we have all read the same thread.. At the very start there is this For a sticky............................. What we use; 4WD Transfer = Castrol Transmax Z Automatic Transmission = Castrol Transmax Z Manual Transmission = Castrol Syntrans 75W-85 or Castrol Syntrax 75W-90 Differential = Castrol SAF-XA this man races cars, I believe with some success so maybe he knows a little about oils.. However if you are thrashing the crap out of your car sideways well you may think you want a little extra protection so you could spend on the redline, just remember its designed for high powered racing if this isnt you its a waste of moeny. So the question is, are you racing a high powered skyline or just driving a skyline?
  19. Im pretty sure the method we used to get the seal out was to first pack the hole with grease then get something round that fits in the hole and hit it into the hole and the grease should pop the seal out. However this was on a holden so someone correct me if im wrong.
  20. oh i missed the bit about 3 kids. Another option I considered for the missus was getting a crewcab 2wd hilux. They have plenty of go, plenty of room inside plus a huge tray for a boot and they look sweet with 20 inch wheels of a falcon on them. Problem is at 700km a tank they're no more economical than most petrol sedans.
  21. ARTZ

    Hoon Laws

This is exactly right, the harsher you make the penalties the more inclined people will be to run..
  22. Yes you're a testament to reliability Paul and I totally agree , 200kw is plenty quick, mine lasted ages on 11psi and @ 190kws with a stock ecu it was enough to keep up with most.. but the way i see it if your forking out 1500-2000$ for an ecu swap/tune and boost controller may as well spend the extra 1000$ to stick a highflow in there that can handle some extra boost before you spend money on the tune. Its pretty much guaranteed an extra 20kws
  23. haha, yeah you be struggling to get 210-220kw with just those mods.. Would still go plenty hard though Well until your turbo spits its guts out that is..
  24. oddly enough, just out of the ones you listed Id be tempted to take the Mondeo. they're butt ugly but are very useable.. or I would look for a forester as well, great little all round car for the money and fun in gravel or a little off roading..
