Dont get me wrong, I agree with both of the above....But i can understand why some filthty rich bastard or true enthusiast would buy one.... And as stated if you have half a mil to spend on a 40yr old falcon you probably already have 2 ferraris called saturday and sunday, and a GTR for bush bashing anyway...

TRUE STORY kinda on topic here, about 10 years ago me and a group of boys went to crown for an outing,we park on the street across from the main entrance (think it was corner of clarendon st) ..Anyway as we park we notice a couple of guys going along trying all the door handles on cars parked there...So we go into crown and tell security at the door about them (mate wasnt to worried about his old corolla getting flogged) Security look over and see the guys we're talking about and stand there looking dumbfounded, in the meantime 2 police cars drive past, Security guard finally makes a call on Walkie Talkie to someone else who obviously doesnt care. And these guy sure enough get into a car and drive off..
-
Mines being doin it for ages mate so Whatever it is ,i wouldnt stress about it to much you'll find the answer soon enough.. And when you do please tell me...
-
Haha.....I got both problems...fixed the second one, wasnt to worried about the first, though it is annoying when everybody keeps telling me to tighten my fanbelt...
-
Its got BF goodrich fattehs on the back...already And has a T400 box so a BB bolts straight in... I bought 2.5 inch dual exhaust and they told me it was to big for a 308, so i figured id fix that with a bigger engine..
-
Yeah sorry i couldn't remember that. ...But i was on the phone to some import mob there not long back..
-
I do see where your coming from Phatboy, you buy a car cause your going to drive it... And I'd do the same...Personally if i really wanted a tough old falcon I would build one for less than a tenth of the cost .. Im actually currently working on a 77monaro repilca. with rebuilt 308 new dual exhaust new radiator some other bits n pieces roadworthy and purchase price it barely owes me 4k...all I need is some fresh paint and i have a car almost as good as one that rolled out the factory 30year ago..But is it original...Unfortunately not!!..For this reason i might stick a Big Block init...Brand new 454 crate engine with starter and alternator ready to run with 400hp is 6500$ It may not drive as sweet as my 33 but it gets a hell of alot more attention So I can still understand why it is worth so much, and why many are prepared to pay it... 1. As with any car..BRAGGING RIGHTS!!! 2. You should respect your elders....

dude....I just did mine ,had same problem....turbo/manifold bolts lose...just take heat shield of your turbo and look at the bolts holding the turbo onto the manifold i bet ya there loose. The screech is just exhaust gases escaping through the small gap...There a bitch to tighten to, but i tightened mine with my fingers and the noise stopped.... Also manifold/engine bolts are apparently a problem too.... Good Luck!!

Ahuh...cheers..i always figured it was a sensor of some sort causing it, it only really happens when cars been undriven for a while, if i give it a bit of a flogging it always corrected itself... So what would be wrong with it, or does it just need replacing?

300,000 copies of the Mona Lisa are worthless the 1 original is priceless you could build 10 phase III replicas for the same price, they could even be built better than the originals...but they cant be built 40 years old can they...until we have time machines ... Put it this way maybe, would you rather a bathurst winning GTR original in your garage or just a Ferrari?? One is just a nice car, the other has heritage and a history, that simple really..
-
Why do stolen cars always end up in Broadmeadows
-
With only 300 Phase III ever made and just over 100 left, With only 24,000kms on the clock Id say its worth every cent..And worth more with a little rust as opposed to one that has been restored.. Ive been looking for a HQ-HX monaro shell for a project as i have everything else, prices for rusted shells of cars are 5-20k...and there was heaps of them made. While you can get a ferrari for the same price ,you will only lose money on services, (im guessing 5-10k a pop)where as this car will appreciate by as much.... Too many people how much a car is worth is actually more important than driving it...And if you have this sort of cash to throw around you can probably afford both anyway.. Personally id buy a house...

I have this problem occasionly. It stopped for about a year, then started doin it again. What is a CAS??

Hey gimme a break I had a bit of a bender that night had way to many drinks and i think some bad acid , just finished watching 'Risky Business' and it seemed like a good idea at the time... I gave it back ...albeit a little dusty ...but no harm done......

Anyone Using Bosch Platinum Sparkies In 2010?
ARTZ replied to KrazyKong's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Last time i did a service i changed from standard mobil 1 and platinums to motul and coppers. Just to see if there was any kind of noticable difference.. well it definately felt different, i could even say stronger..But i have no proof other than feel...I was quite suprised that it made any difference -

Phil it is...... think i mitsook u for paulr33 or just ahd a dyslexic monemt... I learnt the hard way trying to gap platinums when i upped boost..ended up wrecking half my plugs , so i just got some coppers to fix it...they work fine...prolly not as smooth though -

Id rather a bit of humidity than smog anyday...and there is always exit mould , though i doubt it would be that much of a problem.... New diesel technology is making them (like petrol engines) more efficient of course..But mostly lighter (though use of alloys)and smoother running, so they can go in smaller cars. Which they sell off as "New technologies"...just because they have a smog filter doesnt make them any better than the old ones...And what happens when people get lazy and dont service them, they will run like the crappy smog tractors they are.. Talking to a bloke topping up oil in his new jetta or audi, cant remember which, had 40,000kms on it a nd was using 1 litre of oil a week...Then spoke to another guy at a workshop had the same problem.. Way i figure it stop messing around ..leave diesel for the trucks , petrol for the cars and electric for the poofs...stop wasting money on useless go no-where old technology and invent something groundbreakingly new like cars that run on human excrement....or household rubbish..... -
Still Got Axle Tramp Arrgghhh!
ARTZ replied to Harey's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
So how much $$$$$$$ it end up costing... U said you had checked all the bushes, its usually pretty easy to see if they are worn...Honestly i would have been surprised if tyres caused the problem, but in my experience (as a pauper..lol..) it pays to cancel out the problems that dont cost money first....I never expected you to go out and buy new wheels.... I never forget I spent over 500 dollars at 2 mechanics once trying to find a problem with my gas system,..turned out to be a spark plug lead ,which i figure myself initially but asked a mechanics advice before i changed them and wasted 500$ ...Although i did get half my gas systyem rebuilt it wasnt needed...And neither mechanic nutted out the lead problem...despite all there fancy equipment..So they either knew the problem and were taking me for a ride or didnt have any better idea than i did.... Ive given up on mechanics anyway, better off to spend you money on tools so u can do it yourself if you have half a clue which it seems you do, plus this forums full of people with handy hints hey...(alot better than mine) Glad you fixed it anyway...its a relieving sense of accomplishment isnt it .. I see you been checking out Staos new turbos anyways...i want one too... ...
