so roughly 3k ish for turbo,gate and ecu if all bought from you...? 1.5k for manifolds and bigger TB ....probably second hand... 1.5k for fuel system, 2000 cc injectors pump, surge tank rail and reg.. 1.5 for big Clutch 1.5k for tuning and bits and pieces I'm up to 9k still need a diff /tailshaft or tyres...but budget is looking like it could be acheivable blow and hookers aren't looking good but pretty sure all the girls will get wet when I win this race anyway ... you could of had a 10second car man...instead you bought a clubsport

didnt Guilt-Toy run 10.80 with 380kws....its even in his sig....it was an rb30 though... so maybe that tells us that torque factors are actually more important than any KW figures.. also apologies Stao I did forget your MPH have been quite high...

as for something with more potential I agree, get a good clutch and big injectors, good manifold etc... get good supporting mods.... and spend time on setup your rear end to handle it all etc... as for a turbo its very easy and not very expensive to swap that out later for a bigger unit later when you actually need it... for now a big turbo would be just flogging out your driveline unnecessarily ... sorry im just trying to help you get good times for what you originally asked...

lol...I know you're probably right..the truth is I would be pretty happy if I actually did get a 12 , a 13/14 is probably more realistic.. ...my car has the AC ripped out but everything else is still intact as factory... now back to my original point in this thread....If you re having trouble launching, put a smaller turbo on..I would be more interested to see what times your small turbos pull, If you can still pull a 12 then my point has been validated....

lols...Simon r32 did an 11 flat with a t67 on its first run I have seen auto t67s in the 10s sam aka Dr Drift did a 12 flat with a tdo6...in a r32 there is videos of both that I cant be bothered finding...and yes the r32 is a whole 50kg lighter... Tao I'd expect to get a high 12 or 13 in my car at that strip on street tyres and if I didn't It would probably be my stock diff more than my power, or just my shitty driving skills.,I will try get there as soon as possible to see how I go anyway.. ..but an eg, Hamish with a HKS pro-s got his down there at 12.4 or something and I dont believe he had alot of practice either...on street tyres with hard drift suspension..the reason me and alot of others wanted to see your turbos at the strip is because we were seeing alot of dyno results but no times...just because something makes X- amount on power on a dyno doesnt always relate to a fast car on the road..there has been some conjecture over your turbos doing this..proof was needed and well it looks to me like the proof is in the pudding, your car isn't pulling the times...Sorry to be brutally honest mate but a 500hp engine in a 1.5 tonne car should pull a 12 something reasonably easy on decent street tyres.....and yours has close to 600hp MTs and a fairly good driver at the helm something doesn't add up? now I'm happy to admit I haven't done alot of drag racing (well not legally ) but i have watched and studied it for 20 odd years so I have a somewhat vague idea of what goes on...

Hi guys I have a busted old r33 and I have to race this bald guy in an RX7 for slips.... Just wondering whats the best way to spend 10k and get a 10 second car ? it would be good if I had some change for blow and hookers too....

rofl: My point is a less powerful car is going to be cheaper and easier to live with than a more powerful car that will cost more to set up and is more likely to break stuff but wont be any quicker "OVER AN 1/8 MILE" If he wanted a 10 seconds car he should of f**king said so...

exactly, he originally stated he was only doing 1/8 mile runs...which is why I suggested to go a smaller turbo... then he tells me he wants a 10 second car I wish I had never come into this room.....when will I learn....

put it this way..I rememeber i had alot easier time getting my car of the line with 240kws than I do with 300kws...I could just stomp on it and go, now I need to use a lot of throttle control to get off clean... as for conflicting views, most people in the know don't even bother with these shitty threads anymore and will tell you to go do some reading.. T67s are well known for getting into the 10s, theres one for sale in the classifeds with a 6 boost manifold...guy buy it and enjoy...

if you read my earlier post telling him to go for a smaller turbo, you would see that was the kind of the point I was trying to make Even though Tao has all these crazy hiflows making big numbers now, generally a hiflow will make somewhere in the 230-280kws zone... Which is more than enough for the needs of 1/8 mile and short hillclimb circuits...its more than enough for most racetracks too the only time you would really want more power is for a 1/4 mile or hard sliding...personally i think if hes only "occasionaly" going to make a 1/4 mile he is still better off with the smaller turbo and getting his launches perfected on the 1/8 mile track.....

Nope..they make one that bolts to your stock dump as well...keep looking or just get HYpergear to hiflow yours it will make more power -
T67 11 seconds flat.. Tdo6 12 flat..

Kando make a bolt on version of this turbo now...search his eBay site u should find it...makes about 270with supporting mods.. You will be able to run it but best get it tuned as is...you can always add the Z32 and iniecotrs later..even without them you should make 220kw or so -
T67 or 3076 will get you into 11s fairly easily Tdo6 or 3071 should get you into 12s fairly easily I would say they would be about equal at 1/8 mile Hiflows are a bit of anyones guess atm...but a small turbo should be easier to get off the line and less damaging to your drivetrain in general...but you will fall shirt on the quarter mile

Lol @ top end, its an 1/8 mile you wont get half way though third gear, just get a hiflow..stock plenum and everything...it will be just as quick for what you need... the money you save put towards your suspension setup, tyres and practice runs because that's what will make you fast... Anyway I know nobody will take any notice of this post so potato...

Terry I'm just having a chat to a pest controller friend of mine...says those meters are no good around metal as it sets it off giving false readings. "yup. it uses electricity to detect moisture, so anything that conducts electricity will say that it has a 100% water saturation." have you got something different to what he has maybe? they look to be relatively inexpensive to buy..

Chances are it was shampooed and left with windows closed...shamppoing is ok but you really need to air it out well afterwards...thats why steam cleaning is prefferable.... you an try oet it air out and keep the heater blasting to dry it out but you need to kill the mould and it could well be in the underlay.....it could be leaves or crud stuck in your vents even that's creating a pool of stagnent water...we found a drink spilt under our back seat that had made the seat foam turn mouldy..it was milk to, smelt like dead animal. But yeah keep looking, you need to find the source of it..GL

yeah maybe, he lives around Frankston Nth...lol, i have no idea how he drives but he went of GOR somehow and had to get towed out, so I'm guessing he drives like Aaron.....it has big HKS gauges on the dash that don't help either...tried convince him to lose them but hes sentimentally attached to em..police have never paid any attention to my car..i don't know why maybe its not hektik enough or maybe coz i'm old man
