Skyline Crashed In The Tunnel
Tony de Wonderful replied to Tony de Wonderful's topic in Western Australia
Maybe they walked out in the direction of the traffic? Would have been dumb, dumb, dumb though. Roads were quite slippery this morning...maybe that was one factor in the initial crash? Still the tunnel is supposed to be dry inside right? -

Can A Stock R33 Beat A Civic/integra Type R/s?
Tony de Wonderful replied to Savin's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Who care? At the end of the day it's a CIVIC. When it corners hard it goes on three wheels and Grannies drive 'em. It's a Hatch. It's got retarded triangular mufflers, idiotic door handles, rear suspension like a tractor, and a gauge cluster like a something out of Halo. -

Properly driven around a go-kart circuit maybe, not on any 'normal' track. Are you forgetting the FWD? -
Sorry I see there is lots of info when I did a decent search. If anyone wants to suggest a suspension/coil-over, rim, tyre combo that would be apprechiated. I want black 18" rims with 6-8 spokes, and I want about 1" of lowering. Would like coil-overs even though I know springs would do. I think my current shocks are semi-worn out anyway. R33 GS25T BTW.

Look there are old ladies that drive manuals. It's not some refined skill to move a stick around in coordination with a pedal. Same way walking and chewing gum ain't that hard (assuming you don't drive a Commodore).

I've got stock 17" rims and suspension set up. Does anyone know what offsets I need for an R33. I wouldn't mind my rear end being a bit wider for extra presence but nothing excessive. I was thinking of getting some 18" rims with lower profile tyres. I don't want to have to flare the arches or anything at this stage. If I wanted to lower the car and inch or so would I have to do that?

Most Aggressive Acceleration.

Anyone seen that top gear episode where they took a heap on an old Jag, added an NO system to it, and it caned a heap of supercars down the straight? -
Seriously you are WAY over-qualified to be a WA cop. Some of the young new recruits are borderline unemployable in the real world IMHO. You've got a combo of 22 y/o women who weight about 90 lbs soaking wet plus overweight pasty faced guys with bad haircuts.

Take the $10 neon strip lights off the bottom will yer!?

One should always be prepared in case one is propositioned by a pair of uninhibited Swedish models.

Want's to steer left very slightly. Presumably something slightly misaligned. Gonna take to x-speed in a couple of weeks and get a full 'check up'. Probably needs some thinner/better oil in the gearbox also. Needs some decent rims too. Stock are uninspiring.

Don't do it, the only thing less classy than an underpowered car making a ridiculously loud noise, is an underpowered car making a ridiculously loud noise with a cheap overstated body kit. BTW you could probably get the desired effect by taking a 1/8" drill to your existing muffler.

I thought you had some legal 'waggle room' around the stock total diameter and width? I'm not sure what it is mind.

Can't drive an S2000 on P's? They are N/A after all?

The Cops take anyone these days, they have really lowered the bar.

Gearbox?
Tony de Wonderful replied to Tony de Wonderful's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Took the car to a mech and he took it for a blast around the industrial estate (literally, I'm glad no cops were lurking about ) Reckons syncros aren't worn too bad, but maybe a tooth has been knocked off here and there making a few shifts clunky on occasion. His advice is to change the oil to something more suitable (not sure what), probably not worth a full rebuild. Anyway I'm gonna take it in to do that if a couple of weeks and also get them to check the whole car over for EVERTHING. The guy could easily have told me to do a rebuild. Had a chat about light mods (exhaust, inflow) and will probably do that after he goes over the whole car. -
Question About My Car

If it's got an LCD you will have a fluid reservoir in the back somewhere like the boot? -
Gearbox?
Tony de Wonderful replied to Tony de Wonderful's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I mean going into 1st when still rolling, not then engaging the clutch as such, but keeping the clutch out until stopped and ready to move off again after say the lights change. Is that a no-no? Damn I've been driving like that for years. Anyway I just was wondering if I get the gearbox rebuilt that would be worn syncros, seal and bearings? right? Is there any disadvantage to doing that over getting a 'new' box (which would just be one from a wreckers right? so low km?). I don't need an 'upgraded' gearbox since my car is stock and even though I'm planning some mods I doubt I'll get more that 200 kw at the wheels since I'm not planning on anything more that stage 1 (ish). I mean I can live with it since the car still drives ok(ish). But it's just a niggling thing that isn't going to get better then and is kinda annoying to be honest. -
Gearbox?
Tony de Wonderful replied to Tony de Wonderful's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
What's the rough cost of say rebuilding my current one? Can you just buy new synchros? -
Shifting into 2nd is a bit 'stiff', 'clunky', also down shifting into 1st. Doesn't make a difference if vehicle is well warmed up. What does that mean? Gearbox knackered? I think my clutch is ok. What's the $ to sort this if it is the gearbox?

That is an absolute farking joke when 4x4's drive around with great big steel GRATES bolted to the front of them.
-
How does that work then, Springs and lowering? I need coil-overs?
-
Damn I saw this beat up mini-van outside work today with these shiny as hell 18" or 19" rims with dead low profile tires. Talk about lipstick on a pig. I assumed it was being driven by Hispanics.
