  1. Now we are talking. Easy - truck the car to Bathurst with Toll Logistics and fly down to Bathurst. Will be the best 2 days driving of your life guaranteed. Given we are there 5 days Im having 1000 litres of E85 delivered to the track for 09GTR and myself. Would be easy to bring you in on this... You will get to do approx 70-80 laps over 2 days.
  2. Duncan as you know i'd take it to Croydons and get Jim to do it. Im thinking of doing them as well. What spring rates did you get?
  3. Im running 19inch Volk RE30's with Toyo R888's at Eastern Creek this monday coming. I'll post comments after the track day.
  4. Ok guys its time to harden up and get your cars to Bathurst this year... There is a bunch of us on this forum (you know who you are) spending stupid amounts of money making these things faster and faster yet there is no where better in Australia to drive them to their full potential except Bathurst. We can all keep pretending that Queensland Raceway, Wakefield Park and others are these amazing awesome tracks but lets be honest there are really only 3 tracks in Australia where this car can stretch its legs and thats Bathurst, Philip Island and Eastern Creek. We all expierenced how good the GTR was around Philip Island for 4 laps well let me tell you that the GTR is even better around Bathurst, its the only track in Australia where you can pull the limiter in 5th and run 6th gear hard into the chase... 09GTR and I were seeing 270-280kmph lap after lap last year down conrod. However going up the mountain and across the top was the most exciting part of the track for me - especially when you have to run with VDC off because it keeps killing power into forest elbow. So im putting it out there to the R35 owners to find another couple thousand dollars and join myself and 09 GTR at the mountain this year. Here is a snapshot of how the event works. Tues 9th Nov - Scrutineering in the afternoon. Wed 10th Nov - Day 1 begins - usual driver briefing - on track by 9am. Most likely 3 groups of cars and the first two sessions are speed limited following pace cars (driven by the likes of Warren Luff, David Wall and other professional drivers). This is the best way to start the even because it allows you to familarise yourself with the track and follow the race lines of the professional drivers. By lunch everone is warmed up and after lunch the non speed limited track day sessions usually start. Thurs 11th Nov - the event pretty much runs as any track day. The event then continues on Friday, Sat and Sunday into a Super Sprint. For first timers I would suggest that the first two days will be sufficent but trust me you will be back - and just like i am this year you will want to do the full 5 day event. So guys seriously its time to harden the F*k up put your money to good use on a decent race track... and see how good a car/driver combo you really are!!
  5. Mark, Bring your car to Drive Bathurst in November... At least on the mountain you will get to unleash all the cars potential. Im sure doing 55's around QLD raceway is awesome BUT Just imagine doing 2.20 - 2.30 min laps around Bathurst...
  6. I think there is a Greddy Turbo kit with E85 coming along!!!!
  7. wow thats moving... congrats Marek. Dunc, Marek I know you guys love to track your cars and are setting benchmarks at EC and Wakefield but seriously have you guys thought about coming to Sprint Bathurst in Nov? Maybe you have driven the mountain before??? but you MUST get your GTR's to Bathurst and have ago with 09GTR and myself this year. After you run 80+ laps around Bathurst hitting 280-290kmph down Conrod you probably wont want to go back to Wakefield????
  8. thanks Mark. def catch up at the next event.
  9. Excellent Mark well done. How do you like the AMS intercooler? How does the size compare to stock? Any feedback would be appreciated. Shame we didnt meet on Wed arvo at Philip Island...
  10. the pro drivers Dean Canto and Luke Youlden were def doing 1.45 - 1.46. I went with David Reynolds and he was flying as well. Pretty impressive times for a standard GTR with 2 people in the car and half + tanks of fuel... Toshio Suzuki was posting 1.47's
  11. awesome thanks handbrake. really keen to know if this AMS intercooler is all thats its hyped up to be. 09GTR and I are looking at them.
  12. Did you say you were installing the AMS intercooler? If so what is your impression of the intercooler Vs the standard coolers?? Im considering the AMS upgrade also. Thanks.
  13. 09GTR if you made your car avaliable nothing else in the shootout would stand a chance! Would be a classic...
  14. Thats a pretty good price. So converts to about $800 Aust delivered? I can get the Carboteks for about $700 Aust delivered.
  15. 09 GTR and I tried the MX72's but at bathurst last year the front backing plate on the pads delaminated. They just couldnt handle the heat. Maybe it was the track? I find the carboteks much better anyway than the MX72's. If you order them yourself from the USA they are cheaper than the MX72's. I can give you my contact in the US if you want it.
  16. 09GTR and i have been running the endless stuff and had no issues with VDC. when the brake fluid gets really low VDC does eventually switchs off altogether.
  17. pads i believe. dam it stops hard though...
  18. Probably! I dont give a toss about the squealing though. just warning anyone who goes down this path...
  19. Ive got AP J Hooks and Carbotek 12. All up just awesome. Does squeal like a truck though...
  20. Dont think they have any yet??? but today porsche released this so they must be close?!. From what i read there will be 3 groups and each group will be getting 3 Half hour sessions on the track. Ive heard they have 170 or so cars so split that by 3 and you have close to 60 cars on track each group etc. Will be a nice leisurely drive in 4th gear around the track.... Save your money dude and come in November!!! Dear Participant, I wish to confirm your registration for the ‘Porsche Clubs at Bathurst’ event from April 4 to April 6, 2010. Both the Porsche Clubs of Australia and Festival of Sporting Cars (FoSC) have had an overwhelming response to this event, which will result in 400 cars competing at Bathurst over the three day period (160 of them being Porsches). Unfortunately, because of the number of entrants and the diverse level of experience, CAMS imposed heavy restrictions on the original RELAY Regularity event. They insisted that all cabriolet vehicles have full roll-over protection and all vehicles be fitted with harness seat belts. This, of course, would have eliminated quite a large number of our Porsche Club entrants, so Festival of Sporting Cars has altered the event slightly to accommodate the majority of cars. The event will now be conducted under the rules of a Consecutive-Regularity (with a rolling start). Promised track time will remain the same, but the program will comprise dedicated periods for Porsche competitors for their training, practice and competition. This means, with the exception of a few Porsche Club Members who will be entering a non-Porsche into the event, Porsches will be on the track with other Porsches. The program commences at 1.30pm on Sunday. This is a very important change to note. We will be posting to you information regarding your registration and accommodation details. If there are any discrepancies to your original request, can you please advise by email at your very earliest or telephone: 03/9473 0924. Email address: [email protected] However, in the meantime, please find below the current timetable of events: Sunday, April 4: Arrive Hotel (Your Hotel will be confirmed by Mail) 12.30pm Arrive Mount Panorama and proceed to Porsche area (as directed by Marshalls) 1.30pm First Porsche Masters Training 2.30pm Second Porsche Masters Training 4.00pm First Porsche Practice Session 7.00pm Porsche Cocktail Function National Motor Sport Museum (next to track) Monday, April 5: 8.00am Third Porsche Masters Training 9.00am Second Porsche Practice Session 9.30am Third Porsche Practice Session 10.00am First Porsche Regularity Session Group 1 10.30am First Porsche Regularity Session Group 2 11.00am First Porsche Regularity Session Group 3 12.30pm Lunch – Corporate Hospitality Area above Pits 2.30pm Porsche Show ‘n Shine – Porsche Pit Area Time tbc Porsche Observation Drive (Or leisure time for competitive drivers if they choose) 7.00pm Porsche Dinner – Corporate Hospitality Area above Pits Tuesday, April 6: 8.00am Second Porsche Regularity Session Group 1 8.30am Second Porsche Regularity Session Group 2 9.00am Second Porsche Regularity Session Group 3 9.30am Third Porsche Regularity Session Group 1 10.00am Third Porsche Regularity Session Group 2 10.30am Third Porsche Regularity Session Group 3 12.00noon Large Transporters leave Pit Area 12.30pm Lunch – Corporate Hospitality Area above Pits 1.30pm Presentation of Trophies 2.30pm Porsche Participants depart General Information: Dress on all social occasions will be casual. All Porsche entries, competitive or non-competitive, will be located in an exclusive area behind pit lane. This is where we expect to judge the Show ‘n Shine. Directions will be provided to you by FoSC marshalls on arrival at the track. Porsche Cars Australia will have its Race Support truck on site, supplying a selection of parts that will, hopefully, assist most of the field with minor problems…..if needed! All competition vehicles will need to have a fire extinguisher fitted, along with a bonnet clip, tow hook and battery indicator sign. Drivers will need a helmet and neck to wrist to ankle clothing (race suits are not mandatory). Event wristbands will be needed for access to the Porsche grid area behind the pits, plus all catered events. If you are intending to bring a companion and have not booked for that them, please do so at your earliest, as we must close off all entries by March 10. It is suggested that all Club Members liaise through their Club President or Motor Sport Director if transport space is required for cars or track tyres, etc.
  21. the only place to have it done is Exclusive Body Werks in Sydney. If you cant get the car to thses guys then i would find a high end panel shop that does Porsche, Ferrari, Aston etc etc as these guys will have the experience to do a paint job like super silver. Dont go near your regular panel shope that do toyota, nissan, ford etc... And if you go with a Nissan recommended repairer do your research on them first - eg find out of they have done this type of paint before.
  22. GGTTRR did you take the car to the track and test the new bars? And what settings have you been running them on???
  23. Guys i really wanted to do this event cause more time at bathurst is more time at bathurst if you get my drift... however you cant compare this even to Drive or Sprint Bathurst... Having competed in the last two Drive Bathurst events i can tell you that this event at easter will probably be a gentle cruise around the track... i doubt you will get over 200 down the straight with all the regs that they have slapped on the event. This event keeps changing and there is no release yet as to what is the schedule. If you ask me your wasting your money taking your car there and you would be better to save up your $$ and do the Drive / Sprint Bathurst in November where you will really get to drive your car like you do at Oran, EC etc etc... Just think how many first timers there will be at an event like this... its a bad ass track and some of these blokes will be driving very carefully - i'd be staying clear of them... Duncan you have too much track experience for this type of event. This year 09GTR and i are aiming to do both Drive & Sprint 5 days in total. Here is a comparison for you. Drive bathurst max cars on track at any time 32 - this event at Easter i hear there will be up to 60 cars on track at any one time - thats 100m per car so forget about getting a really good run!!! its too dangerous and the GTR is too fast. I hope your not dissapointed. By the way Drive bathurst is $2800 this year if you sign up before end of march. Last year i had 1.5 days of no speed limit session running and did over 70 laps across two days. Was the best event 09GTR and i have ever done... Save your money and join us in November.
