  1. I've owned 2 out of 3 (zx and current gtr), friend has a nice 180sx. The 300zx IMO is the best looking, it sits lower and the looks last longer than the other 2. The age group at aus300zx is a bit older than SAU so the cars are probably more likely to have been "loved" more (arguably lol). Has the most cramp engine bay I've ever seen, but a worked engine is a very worthy project if you put some time into it. I'm still a fan and would consider getting another Z again only if it has an RB26DETT. 180sx is the baby brother, probably easier to work on and is cheaper. More of a younger person's car but looks older than the ZX. Was never really interested in it even when I was your age but have seen a few nice ones around. I can only speak about the R32 GTR. Compared to my ZX it feels less of a sports car, more like a muscle car. Its not a graceful car like the ZX, just a menace of lurking power and authority. I can't think of any other car for the price they are selling on the market today.
  2. Nice. Prefer the stock look any day! Just need to change those tiny wheels
  3. That is an excellent price for a G35 coupe, a car that's not far off from the 350z when they first came out. From what I can see, nothing wrong with the car and looks great! Good luck with the sales mate, market is a bit slow right now.
  4. popos LOL Well apparently that car changed hands so the new owner will have to answer for it, some call it shifting the problems to someone else Alr33x: I have no problem with the presentation of ACA's broadcast of the story, there's no twisting of facts, and from the publics' point of view a worthy cause for concern especially if the matter hits closer to home than most people think. Let's watch the video again : And here's the unedited video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDCfsWy1QZY...feature=related Pretty much the same thing except the driver gets to say a few words in the second video that MEANS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Looking at the conditions of the road and style of driving, he drives like a TRACK DRIVER who obviously has more skills than the average person. Why take it to public roads to prove something where he could have easily proven it on the track? Secondly, who gave the makers of this "youtube" video the right to CLOSE OFF public roads? Thirdly, how would saying something about an audition in the video justify the outcomes? Matters of the court do not care about HEARSAY, saying that "I'm doing it for Haiti..." or whatever doesn't give you jack shit for anything if it isn't backed up by written evidence signed by authority. Who in the world is stupid enough to believe what you say? Since when it is the government's responsibility to do that? bozodos: You talk about your loathing not so much of the content but of the show itself. Its fine not liking a TV show but trying to tell the whole world about it repetitively only mean one thing, you have issues. You are obviously more stirred up about a TV show than I am. The video is self explanatory, you can be 8 and still have the sense to know it doesn't look right. The only reason why I responded in the first place was because there was this incredible outburst against ACA about their negative take on drifting and stunt driving on public roads! Are we on the same planet here? I don't watch TV except eating in front of one but thanks for the generalisation. Here's mine, those who leaves home or school early are not only more likely to misunderstand and abuse authority than those who don't, they are more likely to develop irrational opinions of politically corrective concepts like ACA. Of course this is just a generalisation, brain storm it. produce?
  5. Excellent work Charles, this is probably the best form of craftmanship I've seen anyone do using carbon films. Yes that STI is crazy though the polished carbon look might have looked better IMO.
  6. No, you're missing the point completely, and its your emotional bondage towards ACA that makes you think this is all blown out of proportion. You are a complete TV idiot. The driver was wrong, the driving was wrong, the location was wrong. There is nothing right about any of it at all. I can't believe some homo ramapiticous still think any of it could be justified whatsoever.

Like I said Jack I converted from Japanese prices. There are some that are 2++ million yen for the basic 1999 models. Hell I would also get one for $33k too, but it would be a personally imported one that I owned in Japan not the ones from a junk car yard
  8. Just watching that video and seeing this Silvia drifting up a mountain climb, looks familiar....ah yes, looks like the place where my bro died. To further add to the insult, the writer of that article, Beau Jones, decided that there was a way out of the blame in the hooning this particular driver was doing (on public roads), and that is to change the subject and talk about what's wrong with ACA. What crap, what arrogance. That driver just demonstrated the best places for drifting in a highly modified Silvia, and even left his marks in some of these places. Nice job, how much do silvias go for these days? Thanks asshole driver And lastly, thanks for showing people that driving on public roads in "quiet" factory areas is not going to hurt anyone if you have another bloke holding a camera and calling it a controlled situation

Like I said these were all rough prices. For those who wonder why these prices might seem unrealistic to them, consider the following factors : - Its a Japanese car, no car appreciates unless they're 60 years old collectors' items and in grade 5 condition (which is almost impossible unless restoration work has been done), even that I'm not sure if I would buy a 5-7 million yen vintage GTR which would probably be....$150k here in Australia - After 10-20 years parts need replacing, wear and tear occurs, no car appreciates under deteriorating conditions that happens naturally - Its a Japanese sports car, things wear down even faster - Sellers add stuff to their cars, but what if buyers don't want them? - GTRs are Japanese twin turbo sports cars, things wear down even faster - A used car is quite simply that, used, twice, three times sometimes four times That said, these factors don't actually bother me that much, its the next point : - It seems that Skylines change hands every 2 years That is abnormal and terrible for an enthusiast car many view as one of Japan's greatest sports car never to be fully appreciated by the rest of the world. It is atrocious that some people view these cars as some kind of joy ride. There are some very good examples out there, such as the R32 GTR that was restored/resprayed inside out in QLD (custom silver colour?). Unfortunately you can't measure effort, they've values cherished only by owners themselves. If people do any kinds of work like that its for love, not for money. Also, having read the for sales section regularly I noticed drops in prices for every cars on sale, every single one of them. It sounds tough but that's how it is, even more so in Japan and UK. Like most have said you need to be realistic in a buyer's market, because in a buyer's market people can get R34 GTRs for $37k++ ($33k is a bit low but I was converting from existing Japanese prices).

    Spotted Thread

Saw a very canary yellow R34 GTT with no rear wings, very nice!
  11. Thanks mate, having never seen or read about these new cores I've got a lot of catching up to do. Found this table which will be useful to many :
  12. LOL. Can we begin with the iPad jokes? Go :
  13. That was the year of Windows 95 and NT 3.5 which was developed even earlier. Then there was Redhat, all thrived in a multi-tasking environment.
  14. i3/i5/i7/i9 - You think something would be the same like the motherboards they're based on.
  15. So it seems like completely different boards for these intel cpus, who designed these bloody products?
  16. Its a bigger iTouch. Its not a computer if it can't perform the minimum behaviour of a usual desktop (ie. office, hardware and external hardware management, software installation etc). I've been reading on it very closely but the deal breaker is : - it still operates on an itune like environment where you have to download everything from itune stores - its a mobile OS so everything is "low powered" - no conferencing (camera) - no infra-red - only 720p video, MPEG-4 video is only up to 2.5 Mbps - 10 hours is not bad, but no eco-saving mode to make it last a bit longer, most flights out of Australia to the other side of the world is longer than 10 hours - at $500 USD (minimum as there are extras that you will probably need) it is pretty much a bigger and glorified iTouch for only 16GB - no flash card reader (support for DSLRs?) I'll look forward to the other makers (namely Acer) to bring out the Windows 7 counterpart, better battery, screen and features.
  17. Reading this thread with interest as I'm also looking to buy a gaming, multimedia development system. I don't do much gaming but I used to do 3D mapping for the older games like Quake 3, so would like to do a bit of mapping on Far Cry2 and Crysis 2. I'm also into the driving games like Grid. I was very disappointed with the 8600GTS in my Dell XPS that promised "reasonable" Crysis gaming, I want 50+fps this time not 10. Why would you recommend the i7++ over the i5? Would the motherboards supporting i3/i5 also support the rest including the i9? My intention is to get a middle of the range CPU and later upgrade it to a higher one when I need the extra performance. I'm tailoring mine towards the economy side as I'll probably have the PC running all day hence the need for LED screens. Here's my proposed setup : CPU - i5 m/b - Gigabyte GA-X58-UD3R Ram - 4GB PSU - Corsair HX620 or 550w (don't need 750 or 800 power generators) Video - GTX275 or 5770 (5770 uses quite a bit less power but if the 275 is ahead by a mile then I'll go with that) Monitor - dual LED 23/24" monitors (Samsung or Dell) Storage - 1TB, Blueray writer On top of all this, I'll be dual booting/VPNing between Windows and Ubuntu.
  18. I'd like to see all the pictures you have with the LED lights on the car, thanks.
  19. You can definitely get a 2 door Japanese sports car, let me introduce to you the Silvia! : http://carpoint.com.au/all-cars/results.as...+1252+1246++442 There are a few Skylines under $5k. I guess if you were in Japan you would have no problem finding even better cars below 50 man yen.
  20. Here's an example. I like it.
  21. I'm keen in doing the same mods, but want to wait until I see more pictures on R32s. I've tried asking those who sell these LED lights but funnily they don't have many pictures either.
  22. Tattoos for cars, it works. Not sure if I would like to see too many on the road though.

If I list the retail prices of all the GTRs then you'll probably wonder why most cars won't sell at their asking prices today.
  24. Wrath9GTR, I have the exact same inquiry as you do I also wanted a more responsive rev and considered a few alternatives. I'm going to do a major service soon so will replace all the usual parts. I would consider the nistune if it does the exact same thing as the PowerFC. Only reason I would do the ECU upgrade is to handle the additional power of the turboes that I'm looking to replace as well. Nothing wrong with them, just getting a bigger (and newer) one would give me less worries about blowing up. Can keep the stocks for spares. My car is a daily so I want reliability and the ability to not leak like a toilet (ie. same or better fuel economy). As for tuning I heard a lot about Racepace.

    R33 Gtr

Yes its real, is the R34 GTR really worth 3 times as much as the GTT equivalent? The other models are pretty much twice the cost of their RWD counterparts, few complaints there. That's pretty much right considering the retail, past and current prices in Japan. I don't value the import taxes, GST or insurances that a car might have accumulated in road costs over the years, they don't increase the value of the car. Mate, any car that's more than 10 years old is going to be ass depending on who drove it. Based on some of the R34s that were sold under $50k they were not ass at all.
