R34 Gtr Battery Removal
Marcus89 replied to Turbo Piston's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Did any battery acid spill out by doing this? I'd be worried about that when it comes to turning a battery on it's side. -

Marcus89 replied to Cr@zY FreD's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Seem like the kinds of tyres you would us on skid rims only unless you don't mind dicing with death especially come rain time -
Silencing Exhuast, How To?
Marcus89 replied to WrenchesInTheGears's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Had a stupid loud exhaust on my old car returning it back to standard made it so much more enjoyable (although was non-turbo car and only a cat-back exhaust so negligible performance gains/losses to be had). Want to get an exhaust for the 34 but wanna keep it fairly quiet unless of cause i'm going WOT and higher revs. -
I have never had an issue in my s13 and so far haven't had a problem with the 34 guess have to wait a bit longer and see
-
lol a 33? By then a 34 should be within his price range unless for some reason car value depreciation just completely stops. 15k why are they giving you so much for a first car i reckon everyone should have to drive a shitter as a first car it's mad fun don't have to care about it

Reading this stuff pissed me off so badly seriously unbelievable what people are capable of. And the fact he did damage to someone elses vehicles then had the gall to do more damage as well as threaten the life of your pet simply cause you know it was him that did it (within reasonable doubt)

That's really good as it sounds like that particular cop was out for you for no real reason. Generally the coppers are good blokes but there are the tossers amongst them. My brother in law is actually a police officer and he says there are some serious tools in the force but at least in general their pretty good

Yea i was planning to unless i found something that suggested my car had traveled further than the k's shown in which case i would of booked it in asap. Still a bit suss on why i have a series 1 cluster but don't mind it too much the car itself seems very good anyway and could easily pass off at the k's shown even if it has done extra k's. Thanks for the info on the gauges will look into them

I do not think my TCS switch is working in my car either. Although mine hasn't had any rewiring done or anything. From reading this thread looks like there is a fuse so I'll go check all that now. One question i have is how is the TCS Off switch meant to work do you just start the car and press the switch and then TCS off will come up on the display? Also is the switch meant to be like a light switch wear you flick it and it stays there or like spring loaded kind of switch wear you press it and then it comes goes back to it's original position after pressing? Just asking as mine is like the spring loaded kind of switch

Ok thanks guys thought it was something saying work was done at 100k's which shouldnt be as my dash reads 88k's although if there were any such service stickers they would likely have been taken off i guess if someone was trying to be dodgey. Are series 1 center console gauges white? If so i am keen to get them or is it just an orange light behind the gauges that makes the series 2 ones orange?
-
Well recently bought a r34 GTT and trying to get a gauge on how accurate/inaccurate my displayed kilometers are as i have been told i have a series 1 dash but it is a series 2 car. Anyway i went hunting through the engine bay and around the car generally looking for servicing stickers or anything that might indicate the car has done more than shown. My searching only turned up 2 stickers one on the airbox in the engine bay and the other on my windscreen (although this one i doubt is of much use). My best guess is it says the airfilter is due to be replaced at 100k's or that it was replaced at 100k's if someone can give me a definite answer that would be really useful.

Yea that's what i reckon i mean 92 model silvias and skylines with less than 150k's? not likely lol but you see it all the time anyway. I guess to be safe i'll get the timing belt and water pump done a bit earlier maybe at 90k's. When i was looking at cars i just wanted it to be 2000 model or newer and to have around 120000k's or less and when i look at the condition of interior and such of this car i would find it hard to believe it has done more than 120k's. When i get the major service done i'll ask the mechanic to have a bit of a look at the timing belt to see if it looks really worn or not. It is possible that the cluster got changed to one that was similar k's to current wouldn't know why but.
-
Does s2 have and orange coloured dash same as the gauges? i really don't like the orange would like to change the gauges to white if possible. If it has more k's than the 88000 i would be pretty surprised everything in the car is good nick and general wear points such as under the drivers pedals is not even really noticeable. if they did a major service (i.e. the 100k's timing belt and all that) do they usually put a sticker or something in the engine bay to show that it has been done? if so i might have a look around would be really strange if original owner put a higher k cluster in the car as it would make no sense at all unless like me he doesn't like the orange

I'm kind of worried about getting my first speeding fine since getting the 34 cause i just really like giving it a bit here and there since my old car wasn't turbo just love that feeling of getting on boost sure hope i dont accidentally get pinged going close to 100 in like a 70 if i get a bit too right foot happy although 95% of the time i drive normally and at the speed limit so shouldn't have an issue i hope

i cracked up too
-
Haha man do you decide 'hmm today i gotta work on the car better drink that carton before i get started' or what?

Dam there are definitely some sexy cars and even though i am biased to the skyline i would have to say the styling of the GTR is just awesome -
Yea that's them was really good dealing with them wish i had the extra coin for the bayside blue GTT they have there Didn't really notice but i dunno guess i'll see if i get sick of it i'll change one
-
That's what i thought as my brother in law had fusion splits in his car and they sounded very good and seemed to be of good build quality that's why i ended up going with a pair of fusions. Needless to say i was severely disappointed but i guess you get that sometimes
-
haha nah i'm alright the s1 wheels look pretty boring Looks like i'll get a new headunit, speakers and alarm all installed by Chris from audio express since he has been recommended so much on here and even the compliance guys that i bought my car off (imperial motor imports) highly recommended him too makes it easy on me knowing he is so good. Although i have not yet gotten in contact with him will probably do that once i have sold the s13 so i have bit of spare cash
-
Haha it's true i don't see how people can't enjoy driving but that's just how i am it's great fun especially now that i finally have boost to play with its even better can't wait for my first cruise in the new car. Does your brother want a quickish car that doesn't use lots of fuel? If so i'd probably go with VTEC honda's. 10k for turbo cars will be getting you some old ass cars generally although might get a later model r33 or s14a if lucky although low k's would be unlikely
-
Dam thats unlucky man (note to self make sure nothings falls into motor when changing spark plugs) although hopefully it isn't damaged or only caused minor damage
-
I also had the same issue with my fusions was able to get them replaced then reinstalled the new ones and the grill went to hell the day installed it learnt my lesson never again. In the 34 i'll probably only going better more expensive items like rockford fosgate although i agree the looks of the fusion stuff is pretty cool generally
