  1. Ok so firstly, the problem. Soon as I start the car, it idles fairly smoothly as per normal however you can feel these low-pitched subtle pops/thumps coming out of the exhaust which you can feel while sitting in the car. As I start driving it, the car starts jumping and that low-pitch popping sound becomes consistent with the revs and basically the car barely goes anywhere. I first had it looked at through a workshop and he said it was probably burnt out spark plugs, turns out yes my spark plugs were burnt out so brand new ones were put in. I picked up the car and the car drove perfect! That was until boost comes in, as soon as boost came in, the same thing happened again (as above). Then for a short period of time on the way home, it was all clear and the car drove perfectly both on and off boost and was as it use to be. But then the problem came back where the missfire and popping/thumping would happen just above 1500rpm. I barely made it home. Does ANYONE know what the problem is/what's causing it? Not sure if it's relevant or not, however last week the car overheated due to the plastic spout on top of the stock radiator breaking. I had a new Koyo Aluminium Radiator installed and when I picked it up from that workshop that installed the radiator, that's when this problem occured. However they stated they touched nothing but take out the old radiator and drop in the new one.
  2. My clutch is pretty f***ed at the moment, although I didn't think that would be a cause to the car overheating? So I put the radiator hose back in place and topped up the radiator with water. Yet it still overheats, this time its spitting and steaming from the top radiator hose (radiator end) and also, when I hit boost, the car basically starts shaking. Whats up with that?
  3. Same thing just happened to me. Only just made it home so I was lucky in that regard. Smoke was coming out of the radiator hose and somewhere from the back of the engine to, couldn't see where it was definitely coming though. Radiator hose was loose so I'll tighten that up and top up water & coolant levels once the engine has cooled down...and if it still overheats then I'll be coming back to this thread needing help haha
  4. If you go Tom I'll come with. Keen to see what my stocker is gonna get
  5. On a bright note, Some nice cars and good group of people to!
  6. People drink drive every day. And it's the same amount every weekend. They'll never stop it completely.
  7. Take out your stock airbox and replace the intake with pod filters. That will give you the induction noise your after. As far as BOV's go, it's all about personal preference. Wouldnt bother getting one until you boost your car though otherwise you'll be dumping too much air and your car will run rich.
  8. Agreed on hanging around at meetpoints WAY too long.
  9. Cheers bro! Were you in the silver 4door 34? Nice car man. HKS SSQV? Will look awesome once you dump it on some coilovers My car isn't on coilovers at the moment, just some fairly low shocks and springs. However they're a really stiff set up and feels like I'm riding on coilovers. It's veering to the left really badly atm so I've gotta get that checked out and find the problem before it veers off into a tree. btw, debating over the VT/VX thing is like disputing between BA's and BF's. They're different models but both based on the B-series. Almost identical, no biggy.
  10. Because the only time they can control their cars is on a straight. Give em a few bends and their dickhead drivers think they're Brocky and can't handle their car.
  11. Knew it would be one of the VT's or VS's. To the owner of the 32, sorry to hear about your car man. It's a shame f**kwits that can't drive have to come along on cruises and f**k other people's cars because of their poor driving ability. I've said it once before and I'll say it again, typical. EDIT: Oh and thanks to everyone who gave me nice comments about my car! It's good to hear that after I've put a lot of money into it. Good to meet some nice people! Thanks!
  12. Tossing up between this and the Antilag cruise....which one?!
  13. Would have easily kept the GTR. But I guess it's too late now?
  14. Distinctive Imports!! I bought my R34 GT-T there and couldn't be happier with it. The condition of the car itself was immaculate apart from very minor paint scratching on the passenger door which Regan willingly pointed out (I never even noticed it). After negotiation with Regan and Shaun, I got a full alarm system and built in turbo timer included with the purchase price of the vehicle. After I bought my 34, I decided to get a FMIC, 3" Stainless-steel turbo back exhaust system, front bar and TEIN shocks+springs put in. All of this work was done at Kensei garage (part of DC Imports). All modifications were done by Shaun and I have to say I was really happy with the service and effort they put in to my car. After the front bar had a trial fit with the intercooler, they had the bar painted and ready to fit up. When everything was mounted properly, they still had a few problems getting the front bar to sit nicely. Thus they endeavoured to make modifications to the front bar and intercooler mounting to make everything sit nice and flush and basically perfect! All parts were ordered in quickly and I was able to pick up the car earlier than I had arranged for. During the time my car was at Kensei/DC Imports, one of the interior lights wasn't working at all and Shaun kindly fixed that at no cost. Regan also gave me good prices on the front bar and the tein shocks and springs he had lying around. DC Imports definitely have amazing after-purchase service and take care of their customers. Would highly recommend them!
  15. Well the car isn't exactly 100% stock anymore and I've got the old profec-b and power fc going in next week so the car will be boosted soon. Will a tune rectify this problem?
  16. I'll tighten the bov tomorrow and see if that makes a difference. Does anyone else have any other suggestions as to what's causing it and how to rectify the problem?
  17. Last week I had a megasonic BOV fitted and I also put on an apexi power intake pod filter myself on the same day. BOV sounds nice (despite only running stock psi), and of course the pod has makes a nice induction noise. Car runs smoothly and fine as it did before these 2 mods were made. However, after I change gears, a loud and distinct pop/bang sound is made about 1 or 2 seconds after the BOV goes off. The popping sound sounds like it's coming from somewhere in the exhaust system (judging from what I'm hearing, I assume it's somewhere just after the cat). It doesn't happen all the time but it does happen at least 2 or 3 times when I'm driving. Just need to know if this is to be anything to be concerned about. If it's causing any harm or damage internally and is it something I should get attended to straight away? Thanks in advance and apologies if this has been posted already!
  18. Jacks + Coke, the only way. Or red bull + vodka for a night out in town
  19. Cheers guys! Sounds easy enough. Just wanted to make sure before I f**k things up majorly haha. Also, does anyone know/can recommend someone in town that I'd be able to just come in and pick up a pair? Would rather not have to order in a set.
  20. Apologies if this has been posted already! But just quickly... Does anyone know if you need to remove the front bumper from an R34 to do the orange to clear indicator swap? It's just that apparently my front bumper was a bitch to make it fit flush with the FMIC so if i possible I don't want to have to remove it. Thanks!
  21. No no no! Not BA! BF! The BA's were terrible from a mechanical point of view. BF is the way to go I'd actually consider a Legnum also. My mate has a white one and in manual also. Looks/drives awesome!
