  3. If you want reliable, how can you go past a late 90's 180SX to look at a early 90's GTR. However, if you can afford to run it, the GTR is a HELL of a lot more car.
  4. damn, it don't feel that fast! Guess I'm not used to the bloody great barge yet... and it's only got 700km on the clock so I'm not "up it" yet... ok, ok, not very often anyway.
  5. Picked the new baby up last friday. 8km on the clock and "that" smell..... mmmmmmmmmmm couldn't get my ass out of it all weekend. Best thing? Karen takes the Galant to leave at the train station each morning and the Falc' is MY daily driver!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  6. Well, 6 months down the track and I am still happy with the Galant. It endeared itself to me with its forgiving manners at the skidpan day and I would have never have believed you could have so much fun blowing off SS commonwhores with "only" 135awkw. 10L/100km is a bit of a bonus over the 13 that the 'line used with today's petrol prices too. ^_^
  7. What a little darling! (yes 5'6" is little) In deciding what car to lease through her work she said "It's only $40 a week more for the XR6Turbo over the taxi-pak Falcon... why wouldn't you?" Damn I'm glad I married that girl! Bring on that new-car smell.... oh, and 240kw of course. I have a grin on my face that you couldn't remove with a brick
  8. I have had one of the bost controllers installed in my Galant VR4 for a couple of weeks now and it works really well. It took a while to get the maps set up, the first one was a bugger but I used those figures as a base for the high map. I now have two nice stable, faster spooling maps, one at 12psi and one at 17psi. The only problem I had in building the kits was I got the wrong cable (as others have done) and all I could get on the display was a row of squares. DO NOT BUY A "LAPLINK" OR "NULL MODEM" CABLE. YOU NEED A RS232 SERIAL CABLE. Both have DB25 plugs on each end but the internal wiring is different!! After I bought the recommended Jaycar part number cable it worked fine. Perhaps jaycar need a bit of feedback about this trap as it was the source of hours of frustration for me. Overall I give this boost controller 7.5 out of 10 It gets top marks for value and operation (once finally set up) but loses points for difficulty in setting up and the trap of the "wrong cable".
  9. I'll be there, but will pay on the day if that's no hassle Erin. Looking forward to finding out what the "Sithmobile" puts down.
  10. Sold my Skyline last week and it went with stocko wheels so I have my BBS wheels for sale. 17x8 and 17x9 BBS Wheels in Metallic charcoal with GM "Tungsten Mica" rims.(rims repainted from red) Wheels even have genuine BBS Valves and Valve caps. Federal SS595 tyres 235/45 front and 255/40 rear. Don't dis these tyres, Brisbane Street Machines run the 255's on their 9 second R32 GTR! That was why I picked them. They are DAMN sticky. Tyres still have HEAPS of tread, 7mm on fronts and 6mm on rears, measured with a tread depth guage. Looking for a Quick sale. Easy worth $1200 but let's cut out the haggling and say that I will take a grand in the hand. Ok, I've dropped $200 from the asking price so $1000 NO OFFERS Located in Wellington Point Brisbane. PICK UP ONLY. NO FREIGHT. DON"T EVEN ASK and No, I don't want to sell them that much. Replying here or PM will be a bit hit and miss as I don't get on here as much as I used to. For some reason it takes about 5 minutes to bring up each page on SAU. No other sites are affected. I mean it has taken me over half an hour to post this and I'm still not finished!!! So best to ring me on my mobile. 0418 260 862 Happy buying Peter
  11. Well, as of 5.00pm yesterday I am no longer a skyline owner. I may return to the fold at some later date, V35 350GT is looking good, but for now I have journeyed to the dark side. No, not a local car! I'm not stupid! My new ride is a '89 Galant VR4 with 4 of everything! 4WD 4WS 4doors :-) and a nice DOHC 2.0L 4Cylinder running 12PSI daily and 18PSI on "special" occasions. bye bye commonwhore :-) The funny thing is that it looks like a "skinny Magna". talk about wolf in sheep's clothing! The car is actually the mother of all EVO Lancers. What a weapon in the wet! My brother summed it up as "This thing defies the laws of physics!" Genuine 47,000km when I got it off the boat, the interior is like new and after a polish the exterior ain't too shabby either. Will bring it along to the QLD dyno-day at Mercury Motorsports and see what it puts to the rollers.
  12. Sounds good Erin. Even if it looks like I will be getting slot 13. Seeing it's a 4wd dyno I will bring the new toy as the 'line has been on the dyno a couple of times. Mitsubishi Galant VR4

  15. Perhaps not a good idea guys. I heard a story of someone who they caught poking a vidcam through the fence, they beat the snot out of him and threw him and his camera in the tide!!
  16. Don't worry, It will get no worse than it will get from you once you get hold of it. Most of the cars have so little gas in them that you couldn't trash them anyway. I just picked up my VR4 from the wharf and it had so little gas in it that we got it onto the trailer but it wouldn't start getting it off.
  17. Oh, and congrats on the new car. You will love it. except for all the falcadore drivers who want to race you all the time and sit right up your a$$ as if that proves anything...
  18. You could have a Series 1.5 there. do a search on this site and you will find out. Your boost guage sounds about normal for a stocker. Ihat guage reads in some stupid units like "Hundreds of millimeters of mercury" Buy a real boost guage before you start doing anything to up the boost. The stocker is a shocker! Best mod you can do is to get a short piece of pipe and pull the two hoses off the boost control solenoid (just behind the air filter) and join the two hoses together. Gets rid of the Two stage boost and will give you about 7 or 8 PSI all the time. (That's about the limit you want to go to with stock intercooler but) Really makes a difference. It's the best free horsepower you will ever get.
  19. He (?) copped a spray for his attitude. He asked a question and I gave what I feel is a valid answer. You can not build a strong NA motor and turbo it at a later date. NA needs high compression, turb needs low compression. In return I cop a load of insults and abuse. Unless he wants to lose the attitude and be civil, I stand by my previous post.
  20. Here's some advice for you pal GO FU(K YOURSELF
  21. Building an engine for NA performance and building one for turbo'd performance are worlds apart. It would be cheaper to junk the RB25DE and buy a tired RB25DET to do up when the time comes. In fact it would be cheaper to just sell the NA car and buy a turbo one. So much is different, Brakes are inferior on the NA for a start.
  22. Yep unfortunatly "Turbocharged Nissans" are getting a bad name. Attract too much attention from cops and bogans in utes. Soon insurance will just be a killer if you mention "Skyline" even for an old bastard like me! It's making that VR4 look better every day. Looks like a skinny magna to 99.9% of the people but goes like $hit off a greased shovel. mmmmmmmmmmmm sleeper
