The Wentworth Falls Echidnas u/7's led by coach, Brett 'BU5TER' Grabham, demolished the Springwood u/7's today in the fiercest soccer battle to hit Katoomba in decades. The Echidnas had to play catch up for the victory with an early goal to the Springwood side seeing them to a 1 - nil lead. The Echidnas levelled before half time thanks to the valiant effort of striker Josh 'Iceman' Grabham. With the oranges cut and consumed at the break, the Wentworth Falls juniors came out fighting early in the 2nd half with the Iceman kicking a game saver from well outside the box. That's how it stood for the remainder of play with the Echidnas defence far too strong for the waining attack of the opposition. In the post match press conference, Coach Grabham said that he was proud of the effort made by the whole team. "It's our first win this season and to get up against a side as strong as Springwood is a real achievement." Final Score: Wentworth Falls 2 - Springwood 1. Man of the match: Josh 'Iceman' Grabham.
