  1. I like the NGK's too. umm... See your local dealer. Adrian
  2. Does this make ANY sense?
  3. The word on the Grapevine is that there wont be a Sydney Jamboree - but that Ray has something else in store.... I guess we'll see. Adrian
  4. WHERE !>!>!?!?!??!@?#$!#@$%$#!%!$#%#$ Adrian
  5. They are now reliably chippable but what a pain in the arse!!! A specially programmed 12c508 IC is wired in with the chip and when the laser gets too hot it clips the power to the LCU for a fraction of a second vastly extending the life of your PS2. Another case of chippers fixing Sony's phuckups. Adrian
  6. Absolutely positive mate. After very positive meetings with the new CEO of WSID (i.e. not Jim Read), the Sydney event is just as locked in as it can be As for telling major event promoters that they weren't welcome any more, this is either a case of; 1/ Someone telling stories for stories sake 2/ Jim's ENOURMOUS ego getting in the way of common reason and logic or 3/ One FORMER CEO cracking the shits at John Bareman AND Ray Box AND Ahmed for giving him 10's of thousands of dollars. Not likely. Adrian
  7. Kenny - Yes I'll be racing @ WSID and I'm gonna try and wait for the pretty green one It certainly looks like we'll be racing under S.C. rules and regs but I guess we'll wait and see. I think the idea of an international GTR showdown would be HUGE! Think of how popular the HKS GTR was when it was at QLD Jamboree?!?!!?!? w00t !!! Adrian
  8. Dates have been confirmed for the three round series to hit QLD, NSW and WA next year: April 2 - Willowbank Raceway, QLD April 23 - Quit Motorplex, WA May 29 - WSID, NSW Can't wait!!! See below for the press release info straight from the horses mouth Adrian -------------------------------------- Media Release – December 15, 2004 Drag Combat is back for 2005! Following a great season of high-revving, turbo-charged drag racing action in 2004, Drag Combat is set to continue in 2005 with three dates: April 2 – Willowbank Raceway, Queensland (April 3 rain date) April 23 – Quit Motorplex, Western Australia (April 24 rain date) May 29 – Western Sydney International Dragway, NSW (June 5 rain date) The 2004 season provided many positive and exciting moments for Drag Combat including some of the quickest and fastest quarter-mile times for ‘sport compact’ vehicles, world records and national television coverage on Fox Sports and Speedweek. These factors helped take the scene to a new level. 2005 will again feature plenty of belching fireworks from the ‘Pro’ racers, as well as hot import street cars, fast motorcycles and hi-tech, late model Ford’s and Holden’s. Rest assured it doesn’t end there. There will be plenty of new and exciting improvements in 2005. This can only mean faster action on the quarter-mile from the competitors and a better show for the fans. For further info and updates on Drag Combat 2005, stayed tuned to www.dragcombat.com. 9. SPLITfires. Adrian
  10. 15" Comp T/A's are MUCH cheaper than 16's. They're also a much better option if you can find wheels to fit. Adrian
  11. If you shop hard, you should be able to get them for $450 each. They'll fit on a 16x6.5" rim but I really would advise against it. Get some 300ZX stockers @ 16x7.5" that fit perfectly. Mine cost $50/rim. Sean - John from UAS ran a 1.59 60' about a month ago - AWESOME. Adrian
  12. Sean, The size you mention is exactly what Nabil in 8THSIN uses and they've proven pretty incredible. He has seen low 1.6 sec 60' times and the sidewalls crease up like a spongy slicks! I have just started using a set of 255/50/16's and can tell you straight off the bat, they feel great. Best 60' to date is a 1.7 and of the 5 runs I've had on them, all of them have been experimenting with pressures. One thing I have to tell you is that the require STUFF ALL of a burnout to get warm and stay warm. One Victor Bray inspired skid on the brand-spanka rubber and 2 HOURS LATER the tyres were still sticky and the tread felt gooey and melted!!! As for their projected life-span, all I can say is that I wont be driving on these tyres like I did the Nitto's. They're just too soft for regular driving (and probably not very safe - certainly not in the wet). Good luck with your new rubber and make sure you keep us posted on your progress. Adrian
  13. I'm sorry 78vbsle but I don't disagree with all the points or options being put forward so your pro-enthusiast, anti-Scully campaign wont get any of my support. Please don't assume that your message is echoed by everyone here simply because we're motoring enthusiasts. Adrian
  14. 16x8 as opposed to 16x6.5 I'll call ya soon mate. Thanks
  15. Have to disagree. I'll give ya $500.00
  16. There is no difference if all you're doing is replacing your factory gear with an adjustable one I have heard plenty of people with 33 gtst's getting good results by retarding the exh gear a couple of degrees. As with any modification, you are ALWAYS better to perform the change AND THEN tune for it afterwards. Adrian
  17. Much condolences buddy
  18. Don't know the answer to that question, actually. Will find out more over the weekend and let everyone else know how I go. Adrian
  19. This is more the case in relation to its navigational abilities. Not so much a map based navigation system as a suburb based directional type. Adrian
  20. Uniden GPS301 If you haven't seen or heard of this unit, you need to click here. This unit is the latest in GPS Road Safety alert technology but unlike its major competitor, "Road Angel", it doesn't cost $799 or more. I picked mine up yesterday and it's a pretty handy and trick looking device. Absolutely no setup was required (who reads manuals anyway) and all I did was plug in the supplied 12v cigarette lighter cable, stick the suction cap bracket to the window and turn it on. After finding the appropriate satellites (about 1 minute the first time - 5 secs each subsequent time) we were away. Immediately down the road from work in Warrawong is a Red Light Camera which was detected at 800m and indicated by a Green LED and the visual text alert, "Red Light Camera" on the screen. At 400m, an audible alert sounded and the Green LED changed to Amber with the text alert re-iterated. At 160m, a 2nd audible alert sounded, the amber LED changed to Red and the display alternated between distance and direction to camera and current speed. The audible alert is far less annoying than I would've imagined it to be and the accuracy is spot on. I am yet to test its navigational abilities but will have a chance to test all aspects of the GPS301 tomorrow on my way to a weekend of drunken debauchery at the V8's. It has a basic GPS navigation system with 5000 Australian and N.Z. cities and towns listed alphabetically and can perform other GPS type functions such as: - GPS direction to more than 5000 pre-programmed Australian and New Zealand cities and suburbs - Mark and delete up to 500 of your own personal locations, speed camera, red-light camera or black spot locations - Flash memory for points of interest and warning location database. - Database updates via the Internet - Display current speed - Determine average trip speed - Record maximum speed - Calculate estimated time to reach destination - Built-in electronic compass with GPS co-ordinates A link to the users' manual can be found here which outlines all available features as well as the package contents. Here's the best part - In Australia this unit retails for $299.95. I have organised to be able to supply these units 10% cheaper with a cost to SAU users of $270.00 including GST. Purchases can be made by pm'ing or emailing me at: [email protected] Adrian
  21. I thought the name of the NUR Spec cars' colour was "Titanium Jade" ?!?!? Looks hot hot hot either way! MUST do cam covers same colour!! Adrian
  22. There's also Picton and Kembla Grange near the gong. Adrian
  23. Need to make them wider. It is possible to get say, a Falcon rim in 15x7" but the offsets are completely wrong. Better (read: cheaper) to pick up a low/no-dollar pair of steel stockers in a 15x6 and have em professionally widened in an offset to suit Should be about $50/wheel. Adrian

    Pocket Bikes

Word to the wise: When someone crashes the bike your about to ride just before you venture out onto the track on it, remember to make sure the tank/seat/tail assembly is still firmly attached to the frame of the bike. I low-sided BADLY last night with the throttle pinned wide open coming out of a fast right hander onto the back straight at my local go-kart track. Tank/seat/tail assembly fell clean off and me with it! My knee and elbow hurt real bad!! Fark it was fun though!! Adrian
