Found the one and only O2 sensor, it hides pretty good Initial attempts to remove it by disconnecting the dump pipe failed miserably due to not being able to get the dump pipe off the turbo from below - not enough wiggle room for tools - or the tools on hand. Didnt have an O2 sensor socket. That was last night. Round 2, tonight, saw the use of an O2 sensor socket and the operation went quite smoothly I used the part I mentioned earlier, went in fine, plug was all good & its not throwing any error codes. Chalking that one up as a win.

I had to do a double take Same angle and everything

Id only heard about one but I figured I was just mistaken I might shoot euroequip or iamhe77 a PM to get their attention & find out if either of them have fitted that part If someone could FAST it that'd be tops also

Hey Jason, Was that for the front O2 sensor or the back one? Main North Nissan in Adelaide quoted me prices on each one seperately, front was $211.65, rear $225.43.. Ive ordered the part number I quoted through a friend for ~$160.. I got the part number from this thread (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=305709&view=findpost&p=5059745 ) Fingers crossed it is the right one Cheers, Duncan

The AR-X springs should sit me up ~40mm compared to stock, yeah? If so - definitely keen to give them a whirl! I'll shoot you a PM.

I ended up puttin in V35 springs (These are the same as 350z springs), but Im still trying to work out how to get more height - my body kit just sits damn low. front and back is at ~12cm or so now, and whilst it makes a huge difference theres still a lot of stuff I cant negotiate without scraping. The BR's are the ones to go with if you're buying from teh BC range, however they wont get me any higher than stock. I just had my local mechanics fit the suspension, its all pretty straightforward / standard

Theres been a fair bit of discussion about the O2 sensor for the C34 Stageas but I havent been able to find too much regarding the M35. Are there options (in terms of a generic replacement, modifying the plug from another common car, or using the one from a 350z, Maxima, or something else) for us or do we have to source an OEM part from Nissan/IM (I believe the part # 22690−AL600) ? Cheers, Duncan

Perhaps we should reply to all 'Thinking of buying a stagea' threads with an FYI, if you buy it.. heres how you fill up!

Yeah the compliance manual has nothing of any use, but I found the diagrams for the fuel cap in the orig jap manuals that came with my car, took about 5 minutes of fretting and flicking through pages (all the while sitting at servo) to find it though

Pretty sure it only comprises of additional heating elements on the mirrors and windscreen to melt snow and free your wipers

The sensors have all been checked and are functioning fine, but as for the rest of the 'basics' - I cant say either way (other than I know the plugs havent been changed); and I lack the appropriate skills/knowledge to do them myself Not entirely sure how an AFC works, but regarding the price - if it can make the car 20-30% more efficient it'd pay for itself in a year - but if theres an alternative which will perform better and be cheaper/very little difference in price then I'm more than happy with that option!

Not a good idea full stop, or just compared to the flexibility offered by a full reflash? I dont plan on doing anything crazy with my car with respect to mods (it already has a high flow turbo, fitted before I bought it), but it just seems to be running rich - I get 17-18L/100 irrespective of driving style and I really wanna get that down a handful L per 100.

I had another play with it, the muffler side *looked* fine but thats where the problem was, it'd basically siezed up and when you hit 'Silent' it puts more slack in to the cable but the pulley didnt do anything with it (I assume its spring loaded but either way, nothing happens). I gave it a half turn on the nut you can see in the pic, and that picked up the slack from Silent mode. I cant toggle it, but its in Silent mode now and its made a world of difference. Theres no drone when holding the car at 2k rpm now, which will definately make the missus happy I'll hopefully be getting a mate to give me a hand with some suspension stuff soon, so when its up on the hoist I'll see if I can't get the unit to work nicely with the switch!

Interest to hear back on this! Any ideas on rough time frames? I called Boost Worx yesterday re: ECUs and where we were at, They'd decided no dice on the Haltech and given what I want to accomplish they now think we could get by with an Apexi AFC, they're going to suss out prices on Monday and get back to me but ballpark they think itd be about $650 for the uni and $400 for the install and tune.
-
Cheers for the heads up! Might be worth a chat, the guys at Boost Worx seem pretty excellent thus far; if they werent confident the Haltech would be any good I cant see them recommending it. Cant hurt to hear from someone elses first hand experience just in case though Remapping of the OEM ECU would be awesome, but it sounds like thats not something I should be holding my breath for?
-
Thats how Im trying to justify getting a tune done also. I had my car in at Boost Worx in Adelaide a few times to try and get a bit more fuel economy out of it - they think an aftermarket ECU is the next step for me and were waiting to hear back on another workshop who were fitting a Haltech Inteceptor to an M35 to see how that went before we proceeded.. I should really follow them back up
-
Yeah I was thinking about that tonight whilst I was at dinner - Not entirely sure how the nuts around the pulley itself work, but Im guessing potentially they could be used to 'lock' the cable in place if over tightened? The unit looks the same as yours though. Will have to play with it some more
-
Ive got the same system installed, flicking the switch does operate the motor for me but it doesnt result in any chance in exhaust note, I got a sibling to toggle the switch for me while I watched the pulley and couldnt see anything change on it, however the tension in the cable is very different between Sport and Silent modes. 'Sport' 'Silent' I also managed to snap off two of the bolts when removing the little cage around the pulley system at the exhaust end Ive given the pulley a blast with CRC incase its siezed up.. I'll let it sit and have a play with it again a bit later. Yes, I realise its maybe not the best idea to spray a flamable liquid around something next to the exhaust so I'll wipe it over with a damp cloth before I take it anywhere next

Any chance it was another SAU member? Theres a fair bit on it that would be fine for parts

Saw a silver C34 (I think it was an S1) parked on Grenfell Street today, outside City Cross, at about 1pm. Had a black bonnet, anyone on here?
-
White S2 at the corner of the Holden Hill police station at 1:50am (I think)
-
It would appear I need slightly more than the Break Fluid panel cover.. I thought there was meant to be something covering that corner Spose getting a battery cover would now just look a bit silly too! Ah well.
-
Yeah maybe a little. What springs are they putting in? Stock springs from a V35 or 350z are the same as the stock springs for a nM35 - it's what I have in my car at the moment, I sourced them for $350 and had them fitted whilst getting a bunch of other stuff done, including breaks and CV joint, wheel alignment etc and the labour on that was $360

Spotted a white WC34 on Kensi road yesterday, pulling in to the Wattle Pk shops.. exchanged waves Was it any of you guys?
