  1. Nissan Australia cant afford to jump down grey importers necks like that. The Vehicle has now been out for a couple of months and has been priced etc. There are many people, who arent on or dont participate in Forums etc that are also keenly waiting the new GTR and have money to buy. My uncle is one of those people who are keen. We went to the motorshow, seen the GTR there, not a soul from Nissan could answer his questions. If your planning on selling a 100,000 dollar + car and you have displayed it, you SHOULD know about it. Many potential buyers have had high end european sports cars and the lack of information from Nissan is not helping - not only do most of these buyers have hestitation to buying the vehicle due to it being highly priced and Japanese, but the fact no one knows waiting times, prices etc. Were all sick of reading and watching reviews on the car, we want to see it here now. What I cant understand is why couldnt nissan get these approvals they need to bring the car here prior to release. Can anyone tell me how much longer it takes say a New maxima/pulsar/tida to get here after they have been released in Japan? By the time nissan gets the Vehicles here, most people will be reluctant to buy a 2 year old car for the asking price.
  2. So they should I reckon. I think that the 34 GTR even at its current pricing is not good value for money. The interior is VERY ordinary for a 40k plus car, there nudging on 10 years old now and there not exactly rare. They are a nice looking/performing car though - still.
  3. the fact is it isnt a GTR. A mate of mine has a 32 GTS-4 with about 218 kw at the wheels - thats more power than a stock GTR but he still knows it aint a GTR and is sure having a hard time selling it at a very cheap price - mind you this car is mint, has a full GTR bonnet/grill and a GTR gearbox!
  4. Is Autech Still around these days? cos they will probably do something stupid like a 4 door GTR Saurmatix - your GTS4 is not a GTR. Its like me putting a LS2, Suspension and a Clubsport Bodykit onto my VZ Commodore and calling it a Clubsport. It may look the same, same power - but it isnt - and building a car to be like something its not is just gay.
  5. Launch control lets it launch at a certain low RPM. It would be better off with stickier tyres and a higher RPM launch wouldnt it? Evos and GTRs for years have been doing High RPM launches, most V8 drag cars are all auto as well, get on the stall converter and launch, or with big powered turbo cars with autos, get on the transbrake dial up big boost and launch. I suppose there cheating as well? The GTR is not an auto. So many idiots out there think its your plain old automatic gearbox that you can get in a Nissan Maxima or a Tiptronic like in a commodore/falcon. They have no concept of what a DSG gearbox is or how it works. If you miss the shift with your hands your not gonna achieve a perfect time, so its not like sitting there doing nothing. I dont bother arguing with people over the new GTRs "auto" anymore - I just say yep, there shit and I wouldnt be seen driving one. The more people dislike the car the better - that will mean there will be more for me to choose from
  6. What an Awesome awesome car. I am just hating to think what these things will be like when they strip em out and modify them with lighter parts.
  7. I bought the 10th annivesary Cefiro key
  8. Yeah if people get a few ceffys together im keen to organise a meet up. Ive met ONTRYL ages ago, dont know who it is. anticeptik are u the ceffy that came to the hills run in pakenham a few weeks back?
  9. I bet it will be a dark gunmetal grey colour!! I seen the pics of it being tested, dynoed etc at fords you yang proving grounds!
  10. Emz uve never experienced RB20 powaah!! Ive never seen ur RB25 even turn the wheels in 2nd gear!! Tim (silver R32 that drifts) has a TD06 L2 setup on his 32 with PowerFC - tuned by Racepace it pushes 270 rwkw!! Thats outta a stock RB20DET and he thrashes the ring outta it on limiter. Power figures mean nothing - its about how the car is tuned and set up and how effectively it gets it power to the ground. Another guy I know Imported a R32 GTS-T very recently that was built by STILLWAY in Japan. All I can say is - what a freaking Monster!!!! Stillway built RB20 stroker - 2.4 Liter, unknown cams (very very lumpy), stillway ECU and a Trust T78!! Cross mission 25 box and Quad Plate clutch. Just listening to it, id be hard pressed to find another RB motor that sounded better. Ceffy is due for some cams and Trust turbine love sometime this year!!
  11. Indeed my mistake - the car is actually at fords proving grounds, cos the pics I seen of it were in there testing, on the dyno and on the hoist!! The gunmetal colour looks AWESOME - how lucky would u be working at ford. I think this car is probably the one that will be displayed at the motor show later this month!! So if its a different colour - id say theres more than one official GTR in the country!!!
  12. Wont disclose where or how, but theres a Gunmetal grey R35 Being tested for emissions by Nissan Australia at Ford motor company up in Broadmeadows. Ive seen the pictures of it on the dyno, on the hoist etc - said to be the first Aussie test car to arrive on our shores!!! Very interesting - the grey/gunmetal colour looks AWESOME. Im still not sure if Ford are testing it or if Prodrive are testing it - id most likely say Prodrive.
  13. I had a R32 with a 25 Conversion about 5 years ago - while it was a great conversion , looking back on it I wudve rather worked a RB20!!! I have owned my Cefiro now with the RB20DET in it for around 17 months and I cant stress how happy I am with this car. It is probably the least powerful import I have ever owned (despite making close to 200 rwkw) and it has given me trouble free motoring since I owned it - and those who know me know I dont drive my cars like a Pansy. The RB20 is a very under rated engine. I will admit that in the past I have jumped on the bandwagon and said they have no low down torque and all the usual garbage you hear from people about these motors. Its all a load of crap. My 20 has a small GT2510 turbo on it and its on full boost (1.1 bar) at around 3000 rpm with a stupidly urgent push all the way to 8400 rpm. It feels absolutely great and is thoroughly enjoyable to drive. My old JZX100 chaser with the torque monster VVTi 1JZ didnt feel as urgent down low!!! Your best bet is to put a cheap RB20 replacement motor and enjoy the car without going thru all the headaches associated with engine conversions. And why would you wanna make your Skyline sound like a Truck. Say NO to SR20 conversions
  14. The car looks certainly AWESOME - props to Donut king !!! I will be making the Pilgrimage down to tassie to watch the beast in Action for Targa this year!! Just a question - who in NSW is looking after/preparing the car? I ask only Cos I thought the donut king cars were prepped in Melbourne - an old customer of mine, Monaro Performance Center, looked after and built a few Donut King cars, like there monaros, SSs and S15 200sx's!
  15. What state are you in!! My Ceffy should be outta the Paint shop after its full respray and id be happy to do it!! I did a wedding and a few formals in my JZX100 chaser!
  16. maybe there designed to run with a light chain? Cos they are horrible horrible tyres!
  17. snow tires are worthless we get them for free. They are like jelly for drifting so there shit, in the wet they are horrificly dangerous - youd think snow tyres would be good in the wet - they are more dangerous that tyres on belt in the wet!!! They are only good for a good burnout session becuase they LAST for AGES!!
  18. Check your tyres carefully - us drifters constantly have problems with shit tyres and mechanical diffs - best thing is to find another good pair of wheels, put em on the back and go for a drive - even if your existing tyres look PERFECT. If not brisby - throw it out and weld the stock one
  19. The perth one has been cruising around my mates have seen it out and about. I dont know what all the hype is about the grey imports - its a great car, but its not something thats going to be super rare or hard to get - but If I was genuinely interested and comfortably had the money to afford the Vehicle I would buy a Legitimate one from Nissan. As people have mentioned, its a new car and new cars have problems - especially in a car that relys on so many electronics to run it. Its not like your Basic 15 year old Skylines/Silvias that most mechanics know how to work on. When Nissan sell them here, they will train there mechanics and provide them with the right diagnostic software etc for the vehicles - with your grey import, you may get one a couple of months before the Oz delievered vehicle but if something goes wrong with it - its your loss!! 100+k is a big investment in something thats not secure. In 5-6 years the hype will die down and the Vehicles will probably be around the 45-60 thousand dollar mark.
  20. Was a really good , nice turnout of Cars - I met so many people I havent seen for a very very long time - I wasnt there for long but the little I was there is was really good!! Matt you did a top job in doing the dyno Commentating!!!
  21. I seen that Gold Auto Indulgence ceffy at the RE customs dyno day but no owner. Who is that and wats the story with that car? Also spotted a stock kitted white Cefiro in Cranbourne.
  22. just as i thought - there are no melbourne ceffy owners with a registered/running at the moment car on this forum :S very dissapointing
  23. Hey guys just seeing who left in Melbounre has ceffys!! A few mates I knew that had em either sold up or moved interstate- I wouldnt mind another meet up but seriously I know only 1 person with a Registered ceffy at the moment!! Ive owned my Ceff for 18 months and they just keep getting rarer and rarer! Just wanted to see if any newer ppl on here had accquired any!
  24. If you are over Jap cars, you were never into it in the first place - you just jumped on the bandwagon. I am passionate about Japanese sports cars. European cars are very nice, but I would Only go for there true sports cars/tourers and thats only if I was comfortably well off. Its a shame we dont get newer Japanese imports here as much - most peoples idea of a jap car is something along the lines of a s14/r33 both of which are nearly 13 odd years old. Even an R34s interior is rubbish but you dont buy the car for that. I had the opportunity to drive some V35 Skylines when I was in Perth, and with the CVT autos, bose sound systems, electrics, nav, DVD etc they are light years ahead of the common japanese imports we have around. Very smooth and refined. Not to mention they look damn good! With the new V36 already out I bet that they are again another step ahead in technology. So before going ahead stereotyping all japanese cars to be like 15 yo shitter R32/s13s - just remember we dont get the good Japanese cars in Australia.
