  1. Back from the dead. It's been hellish here after the earthquake and f*kushima. Everything is slowly getting back to normal, although the radioactive cloud over everyone's head is still a concern. The car was stuck in Tokyo for over a month after the disaster here, parked in an open lot that was unguarded and uncovered. The car was packed full with suspension bits, a Nismo twin plate clutch, Sparco seats that were still not installed, etc. When I came back it was covered in yellow goo, but otherwise untouched. I had to drive through f*kushima Prefecture, and the highway runs about 30km away from the nuclear plant. I felt sick the entire time. Pulling into rest stops, the only other travelers were fire fighters and rescue crews, very surreal to be there as it was happening. Anyway, more parts on order for the November 6th Super Autobacs Time Attack at Nango Raceway in Aomori. New clutch is going in, some new lug nuts to look fly, Takata harnesses, and in a few days, Stoptech 355mm brakes at all four corners are being ordered. Should be fun! Also, I entered into a car show and pulled 1st place out of it, with a $200 prize. The show was more to raise money for relief efforts around here, so I just threw it in the donation tray afterwards. Anyway, enough talking! Back home in the garage!
  2. Took first place in the Special Interest Category at the 2011 Stand Up Tohoku Car Show! Pictured here next to a Hakosuka Skyline. I felt bad beating it in the car show. It was a realllllllly nice example.
  3. Those are Prodrive GC-10 wheels 19x10 +18 offset w 275/30/19 Potenzas. Not sure what the availability of Prodrive wheels is like in Australia. They are very uncommon here in sizes that would fit a GTR. Hold your breath for pricing.
  4. Love the V-Spec!
  5. It's not that bad, your head isn't buried in there like you think since they are designed specifically with a helmet in mind. but they are illegal here for road use. The cops are too polite to give you a ticket for something like that though, so the world keeps turning. It will not pass inspection, however.
  6. I can't justify the cost. they are 1500-1700USD over here in Japan for a nice set.
  7. New engine is in. New suspension is in (JIC FLT-TARs), new seats (Sparco R2s), some other top secret Lost Birds stuff too. Overly dramatic teaser video I was working on.

    Daikoku

Daikoku has been dead due to rolling blackouts, gas shortage, etc. I wouldn't waste the trip right now.
  9. I've been lazy about posting anything recently, Roll cage, fuel cell are coming. Trying to find someone who can help install a 'Stack' gauge. I'm colorblind so I always put the wrong wires together.
  10. Okay. The picture would help.
  11. Car is at Mine's. In the foreground is their 800HP R35 Engine, and the engine from one of the Mine's R34 GT-Rs. The RB26 pictured is 18,000USD for the longblock.
  12. Well, the short story is, a connecting rod bearing said goodbye to me. The other short story is, I didn't know the ECU installed in my car has no Rev Limiter. 8600 RPMs sounds awesome, but I guess it didn't help keep my engine alive. Mine's are really good people. They gave me a tour of the whole shop. They have 15 RB26s sitting on pallets ready to go. He said it would take 3 days to turn it around once I drop the car off. I have to go find some bigger turbos myself though, as they pretty much only deal R35 parts these days (as far as GT-Rs go). Pics etc. will come!
  13. UPDATE: Went to Mine's today. New engine going in this week, as long as I can find the headers and outlet pipes I want in time, otherwise next week. MINE'S POWERRRRRRR!
  14. I'll be back by then. The Lost Birds death trap will have to make the trip. keep us updated.!
  15. type ce28 center caps into google and done
  16. can anyone spot the city???? True Love.
  17. well doing the paperwork and inspections is another story. insurance goes up, JCI doubles, and so on. anyway, I would just take the RB20 to the edge of reality. It would be a screamer.
  18. I just meant that his general disregard for R33s was pretty harsh. I guess I'm forgetting it's SAU members, because there have been some pretty beasty R33s. I'm trying to wait until my car is done done before I start posting outside of the build up threads too much.
  19. harsh....
  20. You say you live in Japan. You do realize that if you swap to an engine other than an RB20 you will not be able to JCI the car? It will fail inspection in 3 seconds, as the first thing they do is open your hood and look at the stamp on the engine block.
  21. if you try to paint it with spray cans it will not look good. Granted, yes I have seen a spray can job look decent, but it was done by someone who had extensive painting experience. you should save the 3,000 up and get it painted. Where are you located? I live in Aomori Prefecture, and we could get you a cheaper deal/quality results for 2,300-2,500 max. Also keep in mind that if you paint it that blue color, you need to do it all at once. The humidity, temperature, etc, will cause the different pieces to looka slightly different hue. There's really too much to list, it would be better if you found an online tutorial dedicated to how to paint a car.
  22. what vinyl skin are you talking about? on the inside? you want to redo the door card with CF?
  23. nice! The bolts holding my spoiler blade in are rusted shut. I want to get it out so I can add the risers/aftermarket spoiler to the factory ...thing... on the trunk. How the car sits.. about to start working on a Lost Birds Garage original front spoiler setup in CF. Probably gonna take awhile. going to keep the 'art' lip off to the side and install it for car shows and such.
