My Pleasure Bob,Damn drive shafts Give em a big burnout for sticky tyres and a bit a power of the line and they dont wanna play, recon I woulda run a good time with that one , Well thats my excuse and im sticking to it
Might be a bit late with this but sand blasting to abrasive but plastic bead blasting is the way to go on automotive bits or cars . I had the sleeper on my truck done years ago and it was to smooth had to rough up the surface b4 i painted it .Bit late to let you know but worth storing in the ole memory banks for future referance
Cheers Peter
Next week for me still gotta get me shift light wired in, im so slow in gear changes i need a big bright light to tell me when too change gear, and new tyres fitted to rims so rushing at a snails pace to be there in time next week
Hmmm, well since you've got the smaller .63 exhaust housing, cams and maybe a bit of porting may help but to get down to 4000rpm is a bit of an ask I think as it's a big turbo on a little RB20 . still stranger things have happened 12 months ago our power level was considered unrealistic but there's a few rb20's there now .
Did your's from memoey flatten out like mine does when it reached max power ? Would still like to resolve that issue a bit latter on though
Cheers Peter
I would say yes as they allow more air through but the porting and polish of the head would help that along as well .Have you posted a dyno graph would like to check it out, mines abit of a weird curve
Cheers Peter
Thank You
Yes it was but Ive put alot of that down to 2 hours on the dyno fist couple runs it was around the 37deg mark then started to climb . I want to do some testing on that but at the moment just enjoy the car the way it is for the moment
Cheers Peter
Turbine
I not sure of what the rev's were at 150klms though full boost was reached by 6000rpm and max power where it carried through to rev cut at 7700rpm so id have to say it would be around the mid to high 6grand mark
Roy
Thanks ,Dont wanna aim to high just breaking into the 11 second bracket would be a feat in itself but it would be good wouldnt it an 11.5
jnr32r
Tyres i run are mickey tompson ET street 26x10.50 I drive there with them on, there dot approved
Cheers Peter
Full boost by 6000rpm i think he said and the exhaust mod was a hks cat back exhaust 3.5inch .Not gonna worry about doing anything else for a while just gonna enjoy driving it for now . Rev cut is set to 7700 but it is a intresting curve as it keeps to 280kw right to rev limet havent seen that on another dyno run as yet and didnt wanna take it past that to see if it kept going, all in all quite happy with the result at the moment
Cheers Peter
Aiming for about 2 weeks time bit busy at work and want to get the rear wheel alinment done since i took the hicas off be for i go to wsid pb there was 12.220 @ 111mph with the old setup so will be hopin for a bit better next time
It is a GT3040r with 82 exhaust housings .But the part i like is it holds the 280 for near 2ooorpm then hits rev limmit b4 power drops of but im happy with that level of power just gotta try getting the smile of me face its begining to hurt
Id say on the rb30 with the length of the stroke it would have a lot more sucken and blowing power and the bigger pistons would help it along to, just my ideas on it though
cheers Peter
Hi Guys latest update
New exhaust is on and retuned made a little more power but what its got now is how it stays thinks its past the limits of the standard plenum. Heres lastest dyno done this afternoon.
Hi Guys
What would be an average oil temp in a modified rb20det be. Mine seems to run around the 85 to 95 mark without being in traffic is this about the avearge ?
Cheers Peter
