  1. ive never heard of that one, far as i know its either .63 or .82 , i would not even try non genuine garrett housing, you looking for trouble there, if you want the best results then dont try and take short cuts, stay with a .82
  2. I think alot of those dumps off the shelf are crap, i had an x force dump which didnt fit well either at the turbo flange or even at the cat, i also had the split dump and it stopped my wastegate from opening, very cheap and nasty I would get new bolts and nuts, and make sure you support the bottem of it when your trying to align the holes, and make sure you have the proper gasket , there are some cheap ones around that have paper gasket in the middle, the proper one is a steel one.
  3. i guess one could be fitted onto the cooler piping after the turbo, might be silly question but i take it you just use one spring inside? could you use a 10psi spring and still be able to adjust upto 20psi?
  4. I noticed that the diagram applies to a stock turbo, is that right? cause i havnt noticed a fitting on the garrett for the hose to fit on. so if thats right, would you feed off the manifold? and would that pressure be the same as the pressure right near the turbo?
  5. My stock ecu on my series 2 had no problem with 11psi , and made 195kw with a highflow 2871core, r33 housing dont know why mine would be different to your computer wise..
  6. dont think i got an ETA, just said they'd do it ASAP i guess i should of got a definite time estimated, and yeah i think they are very busy with other cars that were there before mine I dont doubt there quality of work or the cost, both are great and nice guy , i guess i was assuming it would be done quicker which is my bad assumption i guess. will learn from it. they have pretty much stuck to quote and no complaints there.
  7. Hey not sure if you got my private message, ill take the dash if it has no defects and works , pm me
  8. Hey mate , ill take the GTR dash off you, can transfer payment on monday thru electronic transfer if you give me your account number,

im assuming it works and has no big scratches or defects????

    mark

  9. As above, how long would/should it take to fabricate a dump pipe with external and a 3inch intake to filter? Has anyone had this done and how long did it take, my cars been at the workshop over 3weeks now,
  10. so what is the power delivery like? second and third gear? does it throw you in the seat and you see stars ?
  11. do the 8mm spacers have a hub extention or are they just like a plate?
  12. thanks ill do that, dont really want to take the head off to do springs and seals though, sounds like a big job
  13. you'd get more power from raising the compression ratio ( might cause detonation and ignition timing issues though so ask a performance shop about that) and getting the cams reground for higher lift, do a higher flowing cat and exhaust, cold air intake, if its a manual, put a lightened flywheel in maybe, and try to get the computer chipped or modded.. How will anyone know if you have high compression or a reground cam, its all internal.. there was a 300zx non turbo on here not long ago, it got down to 14sec quarters, search for what he did cause thats a quick P platers car.. didnt realise it was already 11;1, gees that really is a weak motor
  14. sounds like a win win modification then, im keen to fit them myself , just have to find some DIY articles and maybe a gregories manual , cant be too much different to fitting a normal cam on an RB30?
  15. I dont have too much trouble with temperatures, but i noticed mine goes up several degrees when the a/c gets turnt on, has gone up to 87 and thats cruising on the highway, apparently the underbody cover, is that what you call it? aids in cooling the underbonnet temps, thats what i was told and for the heat soak you can put the air filter in the front bumper down infront of the wheel, thats what im having done with mine. plus some ceramic coating on the turbine housing etc
  16. my old hiflow had a garrett badge on the housing, is there no badge with a code?
  17. ah cool, thanks for that reply, i dont mind a tad rough idle, just wanted to make sure it would have mostly normal response off boost, my decision is almost made now, do you think it needs cam gears as well , its says on website that is already pre dialled, should i buy cam gear as well ? and if so , just exhaust or intake too? any advice is appreciated. cheers
  18. what do you think to this utube segment? is that close to the idle? i know its 270degrees 8.5lift ive enjoyed reading your thread, sounds like an awesome result , i hope it makes you shake at the knees a bit, thats what im after with mine, 300rwkw with an adrenaline rush, respect!!
  19. Okay, ive searched and found different answers, and youtube video's shows different too can someone with tomei cams the 256degree 8.5lift tell me what they are like, im talking idle and just general upto 3000rpm driving, is it a pig that idles crap?? so far i see they are good after 4000rpm , but i just need to know that the off boost low rev driving isnt really bad, cause thats where most of my driving is.. FYI, this will be for a gtx3076 , 18psi , external gate blah blah blah...
  20. ill take your word for it , maybe its just a wank factor but i thought the 4inch pipe would look more the business rather than dropping down in size .. but yes sir mr nismoid!! yes sir!! haha,
  21. i think you'd have to measure the piston to bore clearance, if you are after as new condition i would think the pistons would be on the cards
  22. can anyone recommend a fuel injection specialist in brissy? i have a set which id like checked, tested, flowed etc.
  23. so are you saying 4inch until just before the filter? or 4inch pipe for say half a foot then taper down to 3inch? if the compressor housing is 4inch maybe garrett thinks a 4inch pipe is needed, im not sure.
  24. The last thing i want is a loud crappy exhaust note, the jap system i have which uses a fujitsu muffler with restricter is great for the stealth factor and sounds good, im hoping that with the turbo upgrade and larger pipes comming off the turbo that it will sound a bit louder though, will be interesting to see how much the restrictor affects power at 300kw, the muffler might be a dilema if its restricting too much.
