  1. Yup the N+ has 15 clicks of damper adjustment. The 200 front and 240 rear refers to the spring length (top coil to bottom coil).
  2. I had the same dilemma. I'll be the first to admit that I am a brand whore and love to go for the top shelf stuff, all the time. But in this case I had to make a little more mature decision and since my car is a daily driver that will see the track only once a month I went for the N+. Despite many people running the Racing Spec Damper on the street, The Racing Spec Damper really is primarily designed for track work. I've read of people running them on the street but at the softest damper setting. That doesn't sound too right to me as I prefer to have a bit of play either way (soft/hard). I'd still love to try the Racing Spec Damper too though. Curious as to how much harder they really are.
  3. driftmeister - I'm sure the N+ would be fine for your needs. The road I travel on daily, Paramatta road, is shocking. I drive an S2000 and have the N+ on it. I was recently offered the top of the line Racing Spec Damper but decided against it as I'm so happy with the N+'s ride, which is firm, but very able to soak up different kinds of bumps on Sydney's bad roads. With the N+ set to full soft I find it too soft. With it set to full stiff it's so bumpy it's funny. That means I get a lot fo adjustablility with the 15 clicks and it took me a week of playing with damper settings front and back to get the ride which is perfect for me. The stock S2000's ride is quite crashy in my opinion, the N+ does a mcuh better job of soaking up the vad roads than the stock suspension did. I also track my cars quite often (I have a GT-R too, not with Buddy clubs though, it has higher end Tein RA's) and the N+ is great for track work as well. Fujiwara - "Aus' spec" sounds like a marketing ploy to me. What exactly is "Aus. spec"? I've tried so many different Japanese coilovers, some are more meant for race, some are more meant for street and none of them are specifically made for 'Japanese roads', they are simply designed to either lean towards track work, or street work. Tein Super Streets are so soft (I found them way too soft actually, hit the brakes and the whole car dips up and down up and down like a see saw!) and compliant straight out of Japan. I don't see how anyone could, or would make them any softer and badge them as "Aus. spec".
  4. 100% wrong to the guy above. Buddy club coilovers are MADE IN JAPAN and not in Taiwan. IN FACT. Buddy club is still a Japanese company run by Mr. Kakimoto in Japan. They were going down a few years ago and AAI Motorsports (Taiwan) injected money into the falling company. Buddy club Japan are still very much running the show. Now for some more real facts. The Buddy club design is superior to the Tein design too, here's just a few points: - Buddy clubs have 2 years replace ment warranty over Tein's 1 year warranty where they take your shock and rebuild it. IE: If you break your BC's they replace it, not fix it. - Buddy club coilovers have dual height adjustment. This is huge news guys. What it means is that you can lower your car without sacrificing shock travel. IE: With the Teins, you lower you car and you get less shock travel. Not so with the BC's (both N+ and Racing Spec Damper). Hope everyone gets that. It's super important. - The Buddy club N+ is in a price war with Tein Flex, not with the Super Streets. The Tein Super Streets are an entry level coilover with very soft spring rates. In my opinion, the N+ kills the Super Streets on a performance and value level (yes I have tried both extensively both on street and track). - The Buddy clubs offer Pillow Ball Uppermounts and adjustable camber on some models (depending on your car), with Tein it's an expensive optional extra. - The Buddy club coilovers feature forged perches where the Teins do not. Hope that helps.
  5. You would 100% HAVE to roll the guards on an R32. Having said that, rolling the guards is nothing hard, or new though, many shops can do it. The biggest risk you take with rolling the guards is cracking the paint a little bit on the very edge of the guards. If cracking happens it's a very simple repair job for a professional detailer to fix. Touch up paint and some serious buffing will make it as good as new.
  6. Hi all, I've managed to convince Buddy club Australia to do us a great deal on the P1 Racing QF forged rim. The wheel is forged, super strong and it's ultra light (lighter than CE28's and TE37's of the same size!). We can only get them in one size for this particular group buy and we need 6 people to get it all happening. That size is a GT-R size of: 18x10 +12 It's super light at 7.45 Kgs and super fat (has a massive lip in this size and offset, almost worth of calling it dish!) on it and it'll fill the guards perfectly on an R34 GT-R, R33 GT-R and it will also fit on an R32 GT-R if you roll the guards. Retail price is $1071.00, with the group buy we can get it down to $800.00/wheel! I'm down for a set as a track only rim, so that means we only need 5 more people. Any interest?
  7. Too right Roy I often look at the pictures of when I first bought the car. It was a collector condition late model R32 GT-R. Such a minter and I am the sole person responsible for destroying it!!! Scares me sometimes and yes, makes me sad. I was invited to Street car of the year, as well as Circuit Battle by the boys at Autosalon. But I declined both opportunities as I've yet to get a grip of driving the beast (I know I can't do a 1.04!!!!) I'd rather be confident of nailing a great time rather than have a bad time splattered on pages that 20,000 readers will read. Thos interested in my build can see pics here: http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/76082-r3...heels-more.html
  8. Giant, too good mate. TOO GOOD. I've just got my carbon shaft in, stripped a lot of weight off the car (stereo, aircon, tar etc) and I'll be getting there shortly too (I hope!). What an inspiration. Thanks for sharing the info + the vid too. You're a legend!
  9. Awesome news Richard I'll get my mechanic to look into adjusting it a little.
  10. Guys I have an OS Giken twin plate too. I find it takes up really damn late which makes it an absolute pain to drive, especially on hill starts. I was just wondering if this is normal? And/or if other clutches out there take up a lot earlier? Or if this take up point can be adjusted at all? It literally takes up just before you let go of the clutch pedal, right at the end then BAM it catches.
  11. Guys it was this little unit which godzl1975 pointed out as the fule pump modulator. Plugging it back in wasn't enough, we had to re-mount it on the chassis before the car would start! IE: It had to be properly grounded in order to work. Amazing how such a silly small thing stopped the whole car from starting and caused us to do so much head scratching, not to mention taking the dash apart, ECU and replacing spark plugs!!!
  12. thats the fuel pump control modulator? Ah nice one!!! Good to know, so it's definitely not something I can take off then!
  13. Hi guys, GT-R's been 100% fine. I have a completely DEAD battery due to the car being in the workshop for afew months, but a very strong battery jump starter which I have been using to start the car up for times when I need to move it. I was doing a few things the other day: 1) Replacing the 180km/hr cluster with a 320km/hr cluster. 2) Putting back the plastic panel over my Power FC ECU. 3) I removed a unit/box that looked like an ecu thing which was found behind the driver side rear 1.4 trim. And when I went to start the car up, it cranks but the engine does not fire up!!! - Immobiliser wires have been checked, and immobiliser seems to switch off (red light turns off when de-activiating it). Car cranks so this means it's not the immobiliser? - I put the ecu/unit/box behind the driver side rear 1/4 back in. I still do not know what this unit is. I thought it was a stereo AMP or something? - I took off thw plastic panel over the Power FC ecu and checked all wires in case I damaged something back there, everything seems fine. - Replaced spark plugs just in case, everything seems fine. - Checked fuses, do I check every single one of them?! The ones I did check under the steering wheel, seem fine. Car still will not start, cranks and cranks but does not fire up! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Really confused!
  14. Also convinced the boss here to hand out free Buddy club stickers so check the site for more info.
  15. OK guys, just updated the gallery on the Buddy club web site with your rides!
  16. No you do not need spacers. They will clear brakes easily.
  17. LOL Ronin, it's alright, you know me, always happy to try and hook a brother up! The P1's are NOT FORGED and never ever were. The only super lightweight forged rim they have is the QF version (QF stands for Qualify First, ie: a qualifying race rim): 15" 4.65 Kgs 17" 6.15 Kgs 18" 6.70 Kgs
  18. sidrr20: Awesome. Send me more! I'll definitely include your car on the Buddy club site. And redevil: You're WRONG there about Buddy club products now being replicas. Many of the products including wheels are still being made in Japan. The ultra light weight QF forged wheel is made in Japan, so too the PII Plus. Yes the Japanese company was taken over my AAI. AAI are into motor sports and based in Taiwan. They distribute a lot of great Japanese brands including TOM'S, Autoexe, Blitz, Mugen and a lot more. Check: http://www.aai-racing.com.tw/aai.php I am not a trader here so I'll be careful with what I say. Buddy club does not sell direct to the public in any case (wholesale only). Although if you are dead serious about wanting something at mates rates then PM me and we'll see if we can work something out.
  19. Hey peeps. I'm now a full timer at Buddy club. I'm in charge of design here (and a good dab of marketing), that's all the print work for various car magazines as well as the web site. I've been here for about a month now, it's been great to combine passion with work, something I always strive to do. I know many Skyline owners are not fame whore inclined but I'm currently trying to develop a customer car gallery on the Buddy club web site so if any of you have Buddy club products on your car, please email me some pictures, your name and exactly what Buddy club products you have on your car and I'll add them to the gallery! Send images to: justin(AT)buddyclub.com.au
