V35 Atracting Boy Racers

Daewoo full of people ..ha ha ha awsome, i think he wanted you to show him how fast the car is... LOL -
I had a HOLDEN SS try to run me at the lights on Warringah Road Frenchs Forest and i ignored him, lights turn green - he guns it must of reached at leased 100K and surprise surprise behind us there was a FPV F6 unmarked cop car, i smiled when the cop puled him over and i just continued to drive normaly past. My question is i seem to get alot of holdens V8's and WRX's that try to race me, i ignore them because i like my car 2 much to run the risk of losing it or losing my license and i have lost 2 many friends because of stupid boy racers, but is it just me that seems to get this or is my V35 atracting idiots that wanna race, is anyone else noticing this?

get a quote for the work from a repair shop and se how much of the work you can do yourself, if its cheaper than the insurance then do it yourself if not get insurance to fix it id also recomend going to the are to se if the animal is still there and ask around the neighbourhood whos animal it is and if you find them and se if they are willing to pay up, atleased this might make them think 2ce about leaving teh animals to roam free on the street PS sorry to hear, i had a near miss the other day when a possum decided to run out in the street. lucky for me i missed him and the gutter try calling your insurer to ask them if in this scenario they will cover cost free if you find out who is the owner of the animal ie name and address or even licence because im prety sure the insurance company can in some instances act on your behalf and even sue for damages caused, but dont hold your breath on it

go to a few dealers and test drive a few cars WRX and Skyline, and you will know in your gut what car you want you can have a look at other cars as well that are fun EVO8, V35 skyline, Stagea, test drive them all and then make a decision, i was looking at the exact same 2 cars and i test drove my mates V35 and just had to get one 2, i got a 2004 V35 for 28K and is confortable and luxurious for every day and has a kick to it when i want it to and a big + is most parts are same as 350Z so preaty easy to find. Comodores? i would not even look at. Unless its brand new and even then the cost of a service thru holden is a joke.

Need Insurance? Want Cheaper Insurance?
AlexanderWilde replied to two40's topic in General Automotive Discussion
realy? i sure hope you don't have the misfortune to crash in a new BMW or a Porche without insurance cus that will hurt the pocket big time or for that matter hit anything else on the road that is expensive, cus if you dont have insurance you are held directly liable for any damage you cause -

Bumper Scratch/scrape Repair
AlexanderWilde replied to mjay's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
pictures are a little close for me to tell how bad they are but id say the 1st you can buf out with a good clay and a substance like QUIXX SCRATCH REMOVER or if not to deep use Meguiar's ScratchX. for scratch 2 you could use touch up paint from a car shop i think repco has little tubes of touch up paint like a nail polish tube for small scratches, since its down under the bumper you can use the brush from these to touch up the scratch and then once dried use a polish to buff it out and smooth it from what i can see your paint is gloss black so a gloss black would work just dont use 2 much cus then it will seem obvious your other option for both would be a car repair shop witch wil charge you about $600 for a full respray but take note the more you do this the more chips will look more obvious as once resanded and resprayed the new paint will chip easier, ask any panel beater and they will confirm -

Car Accident Drams, Help Needed/advice From Experience
AlexanderWilde replied to Yts's topic in New South Wales
1 if the tow truck came to remove any one of the cars then a police report must be filed this is the law so id definitely recommend contacting the cop that was at the scene 2 if the other car was hit in the back side then it is technically your brother fault (insurance company mentality) if the other car was hit in the side then it is clear that the other car turned in to traffic causing the accident therefore liable for damages. if the police advised that your brother was not at fault and the other driver was then he would be charged and fines and demerit points taken witch would show he is at fault the insurance company is trying to bully your brother out of the claim i strongly recommend looking for a lawyer for advice but by no means try to take on the insurance company in court because they will make your life a hell easiest thing to do is report them to the Insurance Ombudsman Service (IOS) Investigates complaints about insurers. If you believe an insurer is acting unfairly call 1300 78 08 08. have a read of this link http://www.legalaid.nsw.gov.au/asp/index.asp?pgid=486 and make sure you get copies of the police incident report Insurance Services Unit Provides copies of the police incident report. im 22 and i have my V35 insured with NRMA here is the trick tho i called and got a quote NRMA came back $5000 and excess $1000 so i refused i called just cars got a quote for $3000 with excess $800 i then called NRMA and sayd i have CTP with NRMA i am a NRMA member and have a good record and i told them the quote from just cars and asked them to make me a better deal now im with NRMA on $1400 with a $1000 excess the guy on the phone told me they usualy match or beter any other quotes here is a brake down of my curent policy i get a multi policy discount of $260 65% no claim discount =$3272 and this is full cover for a 22 year old so in fact the 5000 got decreased to 1400 because no claim discount but the 1st quote i was marked as having no claim but it was only like 10% discounted, makes you wonder who decides how big that % will be -
Buying A V35, Questions For Owners Out There
AlexanderWilde replied to TUF250's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
The 2-door coupe is either 5 speed auto or 6 speed manual transmission The 8 speed CVT is only available with the 4-door version (PV35) 3.5L engine combination until 2005 (when it was updated with a 5 speed automatic). -
Buying A V35, Questions For Owners Out There
AlexanderWilde replied to TUF250's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
hi i just got mine like just over 6 months ago and im loving it if you like the 350Z then you will like the 350GT its practically the same car just different body same engine same transmission except for the GT8 which can cause some headaches if you have problems as they are very rare Q- what people think about the cars as a performance/daily driver? A- Performance is just enough for a daily driver its responsive and quick but is no GTR, personally i highly recommend it for a daily driver as is very comfortable long and short drives has great pickup when you want it, perfect balance Q- I was after the VQ35 (have driven a 350z and loved the engine) what are these like to live with, fuel economy performance etc? A- i went for the VQ35 because its the same as the 350z so parts come cheap Basic maintenance is quite cheap but depends how much you want to spend on it, it would be cheaper to maintain than your r33 because is NA Petrol consumption depends on driving stile and auto vs manual mine is Auto 5speed and i drive quite aggressive and mine usually is between 10 to 15 litters /100km Q- gearboxes are a tricky one, can someone explain a little about the GT8 box. also I would like to know peoples thoughts about the 5speed auto and the 6 speed manual A- sorry no experience with the GT8 but i tested the Manual and Auto and here are my thoughts Manual more fun more responsive and it has 10HP more than auto Auto - better for daily driver if you drive in city a lot, there is a slight delay in gear shifting but a good grounding kit will fix that very fast and compared to other cars the auto is very responsive and fun just not as fun as the manual, here is where i would take in consideration your misus how skilled is she on manual. Q- are there any common failure points on the car? (eg. my r33 is known for coils and broken exhaust studs) A- the earlier models had a few electrical bugs like window motors sometimes would stop working or play up same thing with mirrors usually the 2003 model some have issues with the bose sound system where the 6cd stalker would fail for this i would recommend going thru the forum on v35 and see what people are having problems with or check G35driver.com as is a good resource as well check this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/V3...ng-t240794.html Q- do none of them have LSDs? A- i may be wrong but from what i know The V35Coupe and all but the Base model 350z come with a Viscous LSD Q- also it is common for r33s to have their clocks wound back when imported, i see a lot of low k v35s for sale is it likely they have been wound back too? A-same as R33s it depends on the place that imports it Q- I hear the auto ones can do 6 flat to 100, can this be improved on with the typical exhaust intake mods? A- to many to talk about here, check the forum topics on V35 mods the usual are plenum spacers, gears , exhausts, intake but you won’t get as much out of the vq35 as you would from an RB engine any info or links to good threads or sites would be appreciated. i recommend reading this thread for known issues with the V35 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/V3...ng-t240794.html and have a poke thru the v35 section http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Se...lines-f170.html of the forum and maybe http://g35driver.com/ Regards Alex -
Does Anyone Know/ Recomend An Auto Assessor
AlexanderWilde replied to Gerg_R31's topic in New South Wales
there are multiple types of whrite offs reparable and non reparable the 1st (reparable is when the cost to repair is higher than buyng a new one) the 2nd (nonreparable is when the car has structural damage ie not safe even if repared ) its a safety net for insurance companies to not have to pay 2 much money for a car ie : crash ur very modified car that u put in $50 000 (20k in parts and 30k in labour ) in and the car was 30k brand new the insurance will only pay like $30 000 (20k for car cost at market value due to depreciation and 10 k for parts also with depreciation labour wouldnt be covered) this unfortunately is the way insurance companies work thing is in your case the crash was not your fault and the insurance company should pay all costs to get ur car to the exact state it was in, this is why insurance companies are covered usualy for liabilities up to 20 mil or some masive figure like that problem is if your not insurred your the one that is going to have to take on the insurance company to get the payout, might have to sue them or negociate with them easiest is to se if you can get it not marked as a whrite off and get them to repair everithing or reparable whrite off and ask to keep the car and get a lower payout and rapare it yourself make sure you ahve all the receipts of the work done and mods cost this may jack up the cost of the car so high that it may push the cars price (market value ) high enugh that they will repare it rather than whrite it off good luck i hope u get it sorted but expect headakes -

AlexanderWilde replied to Gerg_R31's topic in New South Wales
once it's marked as a write off it will come up on the cars record so if he later decides to sell the car it will make it really hard as it will come up on a revs check as a reparable write-off, and trust me most people don’t want to buy a car that has that black dot on its record -
OMG, so sorry to hear that. god to think if that was my car id be beyond furious, do the cops have any leads ? lets hope they catch the scumbags,
