  1. My mate says its one of the best kits he's seen, and he commented quite a bit on the jet saying its very good at misting the water (the finer the mist the better) and its much better than some of the other jets he's used. My mate has been running for over 6 months now, has been able to run 7psi extra boost, and about 7 degrees more timing on full boost (thats a lot of timing) and the car went from 310rwkw to 375rwkw. He did a compression test and the result were the same after 6 months. Definately been tested thoroughly. No, the water meth kit has its own reservior. You mix the water and methanol together (50\50) and stick it in the reservior. Then the varible controller has one of your boost lines attached to it - It starts injecting water in at the boost you set it to start at, and then increases the pressure in a scalar fashion to your maximum boost setting (to prevent choking). There is a 220psi pump involved, and a few little things inline to the jet. The Solinoid stops the water meth syphoning when the manifold is on vacuum, and the reverse check valve stops the boost blowing the water back up to the pump. You fit the jet 500mm from the throttle body (to give it a good distance to mix and mist) and then done. I'm pretty sure you could fit most if not all of the kit yourself. It comes with full instructions and everything you need to fit it. This only thing you'll need to pay for after the kit install is the tuning. (I'm going to tune it myself, I seem to know what I'm doing...lol I hope)
  2. yes it does, but you don't have to fill the water meth tank up exactly at the servo.. Just fill it up every weekend or something like that. As long as the tank has fluid in it the system will work fine. If it runs dry, stay off boost. Also, bare in mind that its only misting water in during boost, so if you stay off boost, you aren't using it.. Also, these systems don';t do anything if you don't tune your car to them. If you have your car tuned with a shitload more timing and different afr's and you de-activate the system, you're motor will go "snap crackle pop" and then go bang. its more of a permanent fuel improvement solution. I'm going to whack one in, tune it to 91ron fuel (which would bring the quality of fuel to about 110 fuel) which would be like running avgas all day every day for $1.00 a litre (or whatever 91ron is these days) plus $6 a tank for the water and meth. Apparently normal tap water can even be run through it without a problem. I might ever try it. If you use clean tap water (or even rain water) you'd save $3 a tank, meaning it would onl cost you $3 a tank extra to run avgas quality fuel in your intake. I know its a high setup cost, but once its in....power...stability...engine longevity..etc etc..

  4. Hi Guys. I'm interested in starting a group buy because I want to see if I can get these water Methanol Kits any cheaper from our Australian Distributer. I guess the more the merrier. Heres the good bits. (Taken from Snow Performance in the states) I would also like to add that a friend of mine has a 375rwkw kw Toyota Supra Running this exact same kit, and its awesome. We have shit fuel in mackay - 95ron is the best we can do, and all he could get was around 310rwkw on his setup (fmic, GT40 turbo, exhaust, 22psi boost, injectors and haltek). Once the kit was fitted, it eliminated all signs of detonation, and he wound the boost to 28psi, and heaps more timing, and then 375 rwkw. All on the standard supra bottom end (they are forged from the factory) He measured 100hp (60rwkw) gains, and I am assuming that if you run the right setup and tune you car properly, you would manage a good power gain. I don't think you'd see as high as him though unless you are running high boost. There are other benifits **cleaning your entire intake manifold, pistons, etc etc **lower intake temps which is always a good thing. ** Ron Rating through the roof - Like running constant Av gas ** Costs about $6 a tank extra (cheaper, and about 10 times better than a bottle of octane booster) Distilled water is about $1 a litre at Supercheap, and Methanol is about $1 a litre. 3 litres does about 1 tank of fuel. ** Has optional safe guards if you run out of water meth) Now I am not a pro, so I suggest you do some research on this, but its definately a good option. More points - ** Water meth is only injected on boost ** There is a variable controller - which means you dial in a start boost, and a finish boost. This means you don't have one constant pressure (causing the car to surge when it comes in) it means you start off with light water and the pressure increases as the boost and load increases. Perfect. ** There is a saftey system (optional extra worth the $$) When the water run out, or the pressure drops from a blockage, the saftey systems opens up a solenoid that reduces your boost to whatever your wastegate i sset to (mine is 7psi, I run 16 psi max) I have no idea on price but will update you guys when I get it in the next few days. Hope people are interested! here are the sites to look at if you are interested http://snowperformance.net/products.asp?id=1 (there is also a forum) http://www.full-throttle.com.au/Engine/Boost Cooler.htm (where I will be getting them from) These are the options I will be getting - *Boost Cooler Stage 2 Kit With the Variable Controller (comes with a 220psi pump) *Solinoid Upgrade - Stops gravity Feeding *6 Litre Reservior 8Fluid Level Switch Upgrade - Indicates fluid level. *Safe Injection™- boost/timing reduction system for use with the Boost Cooler® water/methanol injection system promises to revolutionize the industry by providing for safety even with the most aggressive tunes. *Wastegate Solenoid Upgrade - Solenoid such that boost is reduced in a wastegated turbo set-up. Watch this thread for pricing (will be around the $1300 mark) and open times and close times) Thanks guys I've done a group buy before and I'm fairly well known here. I will not rip you off... anyway. Let me know your interest!
  5. sorry to hear man. I got sent the wrong tiem twice from a user. Won't deal with them again... If you can, try and use paypal for payments - they automaticly insure you up to $1500. Can pay anyone too, not just ebay people.
  6. yeap, its what I am trying to do http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=89613
  7. chocolate brown usually means a near perfect AFR? Black is rich...
  8. I checked how much it would be to get it changed to a 6 blade GT30r wheel and the changover cost is $700 New Turbo 0 $1300 .... so yeah....
  9. thats about $300 actually. Save the rest of the cash and get a front mount, and powerfc, and tune. Theres a nice 200rwkw
  10. I'm thinking of going the cheap way - Get a RB30 block Re-Ring and hone it with the standard pistons New Big End Bearings Drop my Head on Drop the sub frame 15mm Bolt the other bits back on.. Drop it back in the car Grab a wideband o2 sensor...and go for a street tune (do it myself because we seem to have rip off tuners here in mackay) If I had a bit of extra cash, I'd balance the crank and shot peen the rods. How much boost can standard RB30 pistons take?
  11. I've got the same setup making 225rwkw... can you tell me your other mods? (I'm running standard internals and 16psi boost)
  12. its a common problem. Its the valve seats. What happens is you bring a car like a skyline to Australia and run it on the shitty fuel and it valve seats get dirty and every now and then a valve doesn't seat properly temporarily losing compression on that stroke. The valves slowly rotate... therefore every now and then not seating properly. if you want it to go away, take off your head and get a valve seat grind. Other than that, just leave it.
  13. its a little motorised valve on the intake plenum. They get chocked up and sometimes don't open fast enough to let enough air in to allow the car to idle smoothly, in turn, stalling \ overfuelling the car.
  14. nope. Didn't make mine stall. Just tighten it up and you'll be fine. If your car starts stalling, clean the aac valve. I'm in Mackay, North QLD.
  15. no. Sold as a complete unit to bolt onto a RB25
