yeah just had a quote from a mechanic ands its going to be about $300 for labor which I am happy to pay to save the skin, just replaced the brake pads so I am sick of working on it atm. Going to get the gaskets and off to the mechanic t goes.

Yeah I read your post, I am positive its coming from the gasket, did you remove the plenum yourself???? the last bolt on the bottom looks to be a bitch to get to.

mate I hope its not a $1k job, it shouldn't be that hard with the right tools. I was thinking a 3-4 hundred....... there is a leak there can idle the car and feel it sucking on my finger and yeaterday blew compressed air through it and could feel it leaking out and would struggle to hold more than 2-3psi in pressure. Boost is ok but not reaching max boost.

Yeah I am about 95% its coming from the throttle body join to the runners, is bloody hard to see there but maybe I will try with a mirror to see if the gasket is gone. how much performance and economy can be lost?????

I have been having trouble with boost and only been able to hold about .6 to .7 bar and today I blocked one intake pipe and put compressed air through the other, through a valve and found a leak on boost at the very back of the plenum. Its at the end closest to the windscreen and and I wasnt able to really get any more then about 1 to 2 psi built up as it just leaks. Now I think I will just send it off to the mechanic as getting the plenum off looks like a bitch of a job to do. how easy is it to find the gaskets I require???? and is it a nightmare to remove the plenum???? try unigroup??? I would love to see back to back tuning of a car with a power fc and a nistune, realistically their should be minimal difference but would be nice to see if you can similar afr power figures and power curves. I am keen on getting a nistune as well, what are some other functions you can do with it?????? with the software etc?????

Did you have to reset the ECU????? I took the front bar off and tightened all the hose clamps and still no difference, I am about to explode, driving me bonkers. Will give that a go, all else fails its going to the mechanic to have a look.

well its not the exhaust as I just changed it to a trust 3in and nothing has really changed. Going to rip the front Bar off and look for some leeks.

well I dont think its the wastegates they both look to be fully closed at which mean that they must be closed, maybe blocked exhaust. come on I need some more help with this. I also removed and blocked the boost solenoid line and it wont boost above stock, untill once agian very late in the rev range. What I did was block off the exit line to the soleniod and that hould have run unlimited boost yeah???? well tried it just to see if I could get it past the stock level and wont do it. But I didnt want to boot it too hard as It may damage the engine. Any more thoughts?????

Sounds like a bitch about nengun forum ha, but you got to expect it if you give bad service. i am waiting for some brake pads also, they were delayed and the tracking number is not working either. I guess we can use the phrase fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I will be looking else where in future if i am not satisfied with the process. I am sure you will get the delivery soon but as you or I would expect its a simple process, I am sure that its not the truth though. -
Thanks for the reply guys but unfortunately i know how the stock boost gauge reads and I wish it were that simple. ????????? Going to check the wastegates and see if possibly they are jammed. its very annoying.

I had a look around and tightened up hoses etc, didn't find much but now I am worried about having blown the rear turbo. I can see oil around the output side around the piping leading to the intercooler. I have posted pics. I took off the intercooler piping leading to the intercooler and there wasn't much oil only a light coating. The car doesnt seem to be burning excess oil. Runs fine. answers????

Also, to rule out the possibility of a problem with the boost solenoid, if I disconnect it will it be unlimited boost????

yeah Will check all those things again, the cat is new and its a metal 3in so i doubt it will be that, my guess is the exhaust. but I am always wrong Cheers Boys

Hey guys i have a 260rs stagea and i just took the boost restrictor out of the hose going into the solenoid and it wont go past the standard level untill very late in the rev range (if at all) like about 5.5-6k and its still not getting near full boost. it has always made stock boost max boost but with a very heavy right foot. It should be making 1 bar at around 4k rpm shouldnt it???, I have always though it was a little lazy in how fast it made boost, but this is showing me there is something not right. I know the std boost gauge is not very accurate but it should still show when full boost 14psi, hit 7 on the gauge. I have an after market boost gauge on its way and should be in by the end of the week. Car is stock except for an after market front pipe, stock cat back exhaust. Car runs fine idle is smooth and will rev without a missing. Would the stock exhaust stop it from making boost?? collapsed muffler?? Any suggestions Even if it were leaning out it should still be boosting??? i am getting a cat back exhaust soon and then a dyno run to check its all good.
