  1. Blistc, I would have been after the splash guards but read they are gone. Problem is the post jumps around a bit. Perhaps it's worth re-posting a list of what you have left.
  2. Wizlb, and what are the brand/model rims on your car? Very nice...
  3. Ezy03, have you managed to work out which of the QFM pads are the right ones for your car?
  4. Disagree. The dealer is only obligated to 'make good'. In other words, if there is a CD player and the car is sold with all kit advised in working order then they are obliged to make it work - they can do this by installing a KMart special. And the guy who checked it out is just to ensure that no major issues exist and alert you to it so a decision is made with full knowledge *before* you commit. If they did not pick up this fundamental issue, then they may be worth pursuing but I suspect it's not worth your time - best spent on the dealer. At the end of the day, it all comes down to how honest the dealer is. Some will go beyond their 3 month responsibility to maintain good customer reputation. That is what you need to work on. Mention that you have sought advice from this Australia-wide car forum as to dealer responsibilities, and that the consensus is that they must make good which is why you are pursuing this. Advise you are seeking OEM replacement. That may put the Fear of God into them and then you can negotiate a half-way with 2nd hand (but working) OEM - aim for kit from a Series 2 (it works better). If there is perception of lost business from others in the forum ( and word gets around), they may think twice in mucking you around. But be careful to make it sound non-threatening (suck it in initially) - if they think they've already lost you they won't work so hard to keep you on-side.
  5. Ezy03, I have the same problem - can't tell which. If you measure just the pad it's ~137mm, but if you include the tags on either side it's about 157mm. If you look at the shape of the pad, it's similar to the wider design (157mm), but there's a bronze plate it's secured with that is the shape of the smaller design (137mm). Arrgghh! Let me know if you find out. I don't need 'em yet, but I will sometime...
  6. PM sent, but JIC. The rear pods in question are what you called them in our original posts some months ago. AKA 'OEM read mud guards' for a '05 V35 Coupe. Thanks for sussing this out for us Cobey - will be interesting to see the price given the Australia/US $ rate currently.
  7. No. But response from the team on this matter was better that I expected. At least I now know that some others have it too, even if there's not much that can be done with it...
  8. Or you could import from the U.S. I've used these guys previously, and so long as they can sell you what you want they are very responsive: http://www.b2autodesigns.com/index.php The parts I ordered (intake, strut brace) arrived on my doorstep in Canberra 10 days after ordering. Remember that the exchange rate with the U.S. is very good currently. Mind you, I'm not sure how you'd go for large items like body kits...
  9. yes, but different interface. Now, if only there was a cable to connect from the 'standard' '05 interface to the 'standard' '07 interface, I'd be laughing...
  10. Yep - that's the plug alright. Thanks. Thread ends without anyone having success using it. Shame.
  11. Yep. And if I can find out which it's for, I could track down a cabling schematic (like on pinouts.ru) and rewire for something else perhaps. I'm more comfortable doing that than ripping the console apart to direct wire - I'll leave that stuff up to Chris Rogers..
  12. Hi Team. I bought my V25 '05 coupe with a mystery plug on an extendable cable in the console. I suspect it's for a mobile phone and that it's wired to the sound system or, at a minimum, to power for charging. It has some Japanese writing in the side, but I don't read Japanese. Anyone able to advise me what it says or does anyone recognise the cable connection? Apologies for the poor photo quality, but hopefully adequate for the purpose. Any help is appreciated. Many thanks.
  13. Looks like I've stumped a few people. Doing some research, I'm no longer sure I can keep referring to the part as a 'splash guard' as the parts I've seen in the U.S. appear to attach to the guard in front of the rear wheel. For the sake of record, this is what I'm keen to source a replacement for (for a '05 Coupe). Anyone? Even what it's really called so I can ask for the right part would be helpful.
  14. Same - I'm 50 (my 3rd Skyline) and with NRMA. Insurance for my '05 Coupe costs me just over $1,000 p.a. Downside is a $600 excess, but a smash repairer won't answer the phone for anything less these days anyway. I've had to replace my windscreen with O'Brien a couple of months ago. Cost me nothing so I figure I've already got my money back for this year. It took them two goes, as the first arrived smashed - they ordered both times via the local Nissan dealer. 5 or so weeks later the windscreen was swapped out - luckily it was only a hairline fracture so I could still drive the car in the meantime...
  15. Hi team. Had a slight mishap with a garden sleeper - jumped out at my '05 Coupe and took a bite out of my right rear splash guard. Apart from sending away to the U.S., any idea where I could source a replacement locally - either in silver or unpainted? I'm happy to buy the pair if that's what I need to do.
  16. http://afepower.com/shop/details_new.php?partno=TR-3015P&filter&menu=gas&searchtype=word&keyword=takeda&brandID=78 But don't buy there - do your own research...
  17. There's a few threads on this - here's mine... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/358170-new-takeda-intake-and-gtspec-strut-brace/
  18. Sad event. I've only had my v35 for a year now, but have 2 dents now in my immaculate body (remember i'm talking about my car now...) due to parking in car parks. I'm always careful about opening my door when next to cars - I don't know why other %{:content:}amp;#'s can't do the same. That's why every time I drive into carparks I always park "strategically" i.e. park with passenger side to a column or against a wall (so driver's side of car on left doesn't open to your car) or park next to small car on left (same reason, but giving more space). Golden rule - never, NEVER, park next to a wank%r with a big 4 wheel drive - those guys typically don't give a rats!
  19. Front and/or rear strut braces? Neither too hard to do it yourself, but you'll typically have to source from a US Supplier like b2autodesigns. Here's my front strut exercise: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/358170-new-takeda-intake-and-gtspec-strut-brace/ Sway bars different matter. Hate to take business away from a local so you may like to enquire with Dale. Cheers.
  20. OK - thanks.Just a worry when I'm driving down a ramp toward another car and the brakes fade... Matter of giving it some time to let it do it's thing first, I suppose.
  21. Mongoose - installed by Nagoya as part of their ready-for-sale process. Confirmed it's there (key fob, and had 3rd party check it while installing cruise control).
  22. Did a search, but apart from an unanswered question from win4ever some time ago... For some time now, when I start the mighty V35 and drive off i hear a noise from the engine bay driver's side - I believe it's the ABS - and it's like a 'whoosh'. If I'm hitting the brakes at the time I get massive brake fade for a moment, so I assume it really is the ABS, then it's OK. It's irritating, because I park in a multi-story car park at work, and generally it happens while I'm going down a down ramp. Any ideas? Something I should book in to see a Nissan dealer about?
  23. Yes, but the key difference is that even after 3 months his Skyline is still were it was. In the States it would be 'hey, didn't I park my car here? Oh %@#$!!" Or, as a minimum, someone would have taken tenancy, and it'd be full of cats...
