ive got oil line leaks on the stock turbo not huge but evident. bit of a worry. - which is no doubt helping kill this turbo prematurely. only just noticed since i got under there to pull the starter out - new braided lines and speedflow connections will smack that on the head with the hiflow. i think ive also got a rocker cover leak on the passenger side.. so when its engine out time for the turbo replacement (when i can afford it) that gasket number will come in handy. thanks. :- got my donkey syringe ready also for the spark plug change.. expecting cylinder 1 to look like a mote of oil. think i might leave my car at jetwrecks and see if he wants to pull my engine out for me.

the GTRS with the big rear end does the same thing.. spins for a good 20 seconds after shutdown. got a replacement chinese rad for mine recently from ebay for $200 all alminium and worked a treat.. even though the top tank has this massive dip from weld creep but it works and was cheap

sobering - i thought it mightve been an oil lubricated one and thats why it cooked. sourcing one from wreckers isnt going to be easy around these parts , maybe down there, looks like my car is going to be bricking the driveway for weeks to come if thats the case. what else other than an m35 has a vq25 though ? thanks for the solid advice Scott

no it was pure coincidence which happened to be on the steep drive..later realising my starter motor died .. didnt realise that nissan starters have a tendancy to just work then not work .. with no warning.. unlike other cars that generally give you slow turnover symptom similar to a battery dying.

pulled starter motor off the 300zx wagon, noticed one of the oil lines to turbo leaking.. guess that hiflow needs to be sooner than later.

this was in the back quarter of an industrial area in the middle of the night in a dead end street. he spent 30 minutes trying to find the most out of the way place on location on a return test drive.. my mate couldnt help himself. daleo - fair call i cant understand where your coming from. - it was reckless.. i actually wasnt driving. was the first night we got it boosting right.. and my mate decided he was keen to see if it could finally boost a burnout. its actually from weeks ago i wasnt going to post it but thought it was amusing. i shouldve gone with my first hunch and not posted this.. heh

hey mate.. gave it the 12volt jump with flathead as it was on a bastard steep angle at the bottom of the driveway , probably cooking it further , but least i got it to the top of the driveway.. so its definately starter. i can access it fine from the top of the driveway now, and can get it out easy enough with stands and the trolley jack and most likely passenger wheel off. any recommendations on replacement or rebuild? v35 - cheaper compatible? any ideas would be appreciated.

Im getting the exact same problem on my driveway with a full tank of juice.. and sporadic.. took it for a two hour drive thursday night .. come home park on the drive , after refueling to a full tank... refuses to start. heaps of battery. Then i leave it for an hour play with the shifter .. finally starts in nuetral... Then starts again in park. Then the following day.. refuses to start again.. full battery power lights are beaming.. im thinking shift lock or starter motor.. anyone else got any ideas? did however notice it made a few slow spins of the starter when it did start like a dying battery or dying starter motor.. then the following day made clicks. now does nothing. yeah shes a 2T brick where she sits.. need it towed ..starter motor is screwed.

mine has refused to start the past week. not sure whats wrong with it .. either starter or shift lock sensor.

considering selling all my vehicles and folding up my IT business thats been shedding 2k a week recently might have to go and find work!

mate of mine does them on saturdays for $50 and $30 if your nice on the northside. (camber adjustments too) on the downlow though
