  1. Ive had my V36 coupe for a couple of weeks now. Im still figuring out a few things. So I was hoping I can get some pointers on here. The Navigation screen seems to come on sometimes (usually after ive finished a phone conversation on bluetooth). The only way i can get rid of it is by pressing the TV/Aux button and then it changes to radio. From there, to get back to the music box i need to press the source button 3 times. It seems a bit long winded. Is there any way you can exit navigation all together to stop it from coming up? Also the LCD in middle is telling me the key fob is running low on battery. I tried doing a few trips with the key in the holder thing but it doesnt seem to be charging it.. any advice? thanks
  2. wrong section. Delete pls
  3. ANG Automotives 1/10 Malland St Myaree 93173025 (bookings required) This is a private workshop. The guy who runs it (Angelo) is easy going and takes a common sense approach to things. Unlike the robots at the licencing centres. Good luck!
  4. It think it adjusts the sound to favour the driver most. So in other words decrese the level of the right side of the car and increase on the left side to create a the illusion that you are sitting perfectly in the middle of the left and right speakers for perfect stereo.
  5. It wasnt done at comliance and it passed in VIC. AND good news!! It passed here too.. Word of advice. Take your cars to private garages for inspections, not licencing centres. The owner was a young, easy going guy. Im happy as larry
  6. The cars registered in VIC. They passed it over there only a few months back but im pretty sure its less strict there. I'll let you know how i go in the inspection tomorrow. All this because a little bug got squashed on a headlight.
  7. Will do. Im going to try this joint if i can get a booking: ANG Automotives 1/10 Malland Street MYAREE 6154 Light vehicles only (under 4,500kg gross vehicle mass) No motorcycles over 250cc * Pre-book: 9317 3025
  8. Thanks for the replys. I might wing it to start with and if gets rejected i'll go for plan B. Im pretty sure you get 2 goes at the examination for the initial price.. I heard that you can get the cars inspected at various garages these days too?? Anyone know where? I bet they must be much more easy going then those losers at the licencing centres.
  9. thats an awesome idea for v35's! I doubt they would pick up on it.
  10. Cheers Vic, nope i went for a silver one this time yeah if you dont mind, could you see if you can get his number?
  11. it needs to be wired up differently though right? if it was just a 10 min job i wouldnt mind but im kind of time poor at the moment so DIY wiring is probably not an option.
  12. Hi guys, after what seemed like forever, my 370gt is finally arriving from Victoria this week! I will need to register it in WA asap and was wondering if anyone has got away with passing the pits with factory HID still installed? Is the light obviously a different colour or is it a subtle difference only? If possible i would like to avoid the rigmarole of swapping over twice. Its the stupidest ADR! Any advice appreciated. thanks
  13. Nice. I have eibach pro kit sitting in the garage. Starting the think its the wrong choice after what Yo-Yo said.
  14. I think i just got a pretty good deal from NRMA Car is 2008 v36, no claim/accident history, 31 years old, premium $1150, excess $550. Includes windscreen option (unlimited with $0 excess). Does not include car hire. They matched a previous quote from just car and lowered by 10%.
  15. V35 is by far the best option. The rest are just fast versions of normal cars. WRX - boring MPS3 - very fast but front wheel drive. You feel nervous every time you put your foot down because it feels like the front end is going to rip off. They tend to brake engine mounts too. MPS6 - boring - same engine as the 3 but a lot heavier. GTI - Never tried one. But at the end of the day its just another hatch back - boring.

    Hail Damage

anyone know if brooklyn was hit bad enough to cause damage to cars?
  17. A bank cheque will not clear straight away. It will take 3 working days. Unless you pay an extra $20 for fast clearing but it will still take at least 1 day. You could always ring the bank where the cheque is from and ask them if its legit before you let him take the car. But I would get him to pay cash. 20k can fit in your pocket. (ask for $100 bills) All he has to do is give the bank 24 hours notice before he picks up the cash. As for the money laundering. Even if they do investigate it, they will just link it to the sale of the car and that will be the end of it. Just make sure he puts the right amount on the transfer form and pays the correct stamp duty
  18. I see what your saying, your right on the V35. It probably wont go up by much if anything. But the V36 has better chance to increarse in value. Depending on when infiniti gets there asses into gear open up shop. Also i think 100k will be pushing it. My guess is the starting price will be between 60 and 80k. People will realise that its just a luxo version of a 370z. No one would by it for $40k more just to get 2 extra seats and some electric gizmo's. *edit* i think the dealers will be happy to work on imported cars and order parts etc.. Its obviously not going to be under warranty though..
  19. I was thinking the same thing. When people see the crazy prices that infiniti's will go for in Australia, they will jump at the chance to own basically the same car in near new condition at much less $ even if its a private import. This demand should push prices up. Also when Infiniti finally gets released here, the advertising will begin and people will know what these cars are all about. At the moment, most people still dont have a clue. If you gave me the choice of a 370Z or a 370GT, I would pick the 370GT any day. Even if they cost the same. Right now Its just lucky that they cost less. But not for long All that said, the V36 may not even see the australian market because its nearly 5 years into production.
  20. Steve, im not suggesting that it could be as bad as the 8CVT, just that they might not pull it off the shelf until the end of the cars life cycle (as they did with the 8CVT). Out of all the complaints i read about, only a small percentage were serious enough for the gear box to be replaced. The rest were comfort and smoothness issues. But im pretty fussy, and unlike the Japs or the Americans, we cant go bugging the local dealerships to give us software updates etc.. We are left to our own devices. (at least until infiniti opens its doors in oz) So given there are 3 options, and im keen on an auto. The 5 speed seems like the logical choice for me. On the economy subject, like you said, "its personal preference" for me economy takes a back seat over driving pleasure. Im not suggesting that the 5at is more pleasurable to drive then the 7at, but the satistics tend to point that way. I should probably add to this, from what i understood from myg37 forum. It sounds like nissan has been constantly working to update software to iron out any issues with the 7AT. Heaps of guys on the myg37.com had software updates at dealerships which in some cases fixed the problems all together. Other times it just improved it. Some of the newer posts with guys buying 2010 or 2011 models said they didnt have any problems at all. So they must have fixed it by now. Only problem is, I cant afford a 2011 one. And we cant get the software updates here, yet. (correct me if im wrong)
  21. I dont plan on gearing down myself (apart from showing off every now and again) so it would be good if the car could do a half decent job of it. I have a bit of traffic to get through on the way to work and back so would be good if it was smooth even at stop/start pace. I dont know.. how many years was the GT8 in production for again?
  22. So i checked what all the fuss was about on myg37.com. Wow!! there is a lot of unsatisfied 7AT owners describing the exact problems that im trying to avoid. Im really glad i looked into this before buying!
