  1. Please turn on image tags in sigs. If the images are hosted on our private webspace it doesn't use any of the board bandwidth so what's the problem? So long as there are set limits for maximum size so someones sig doesn't take up half the screen...
  2. The Nismo white dials with 300km/h and 11,000rpm is AUD$1250 direct from Takakaira so it would be at least $1600 on the Australian market. Get your facts right before you try and correct other people! Moron.
  3. why keep the 180? because that what the kit comes with! if you get the 240 kit the speedo will be WAY out of calibration. Yeah those Nismo ones are nice if you can afford the $2000+ to get them.
  4. ex-tatic and Mic33R: I cut the blurry part of the tacho section so that the boost guage was clear. The install was quite difficult only because it involved taking the needles off. It is not so difficult that you can't do it yourself (if I can do it anyone can!) but you need to be _VERY_ careful when taking the needles off. The needles are connected to a central rod that goes down into the main mechanics of the tacho/speedo. If you try and just pull the needle off you might pull out the rod and damage the internals (as I did). All I damaged was a coiled spring that controls the speedo but I was able to fix that. Before removing the needles, move them all to their lowest point as shown here: That gives you the calibration point. (My speedo needle is wrong in that photo. It should point to the centre of the black part of the fuel level needle.) When putting the needles back on make sure they look like this (above). I 'fine-tuned' the calibration of the speedo with a mate, a second car and 2 mobile phones and a LOT of asking, "What speed are you doing now?" (if you get my drift) Hope this rant helps someone...
  5. shouldn't there be an actual club with memberships before worrying about stickers?
  6. I didn't notice any power drop or increase. I'd say the engine breathes much easier so is more responsive but without the factory cold air intake it's probably sucking hot air in so the power loss is offsetting any increase in responsiveness.
  7. For $137 you can get a brand new K&N pod filter and the required bracket for $50. I just bought and installed mine last week. For less than $200 I got the bracket and a brand new filter so IMHO you shouldn't buy second hand ones for that price.
  8. Congrats jackal....it's a great feeling isn't it?!?
  9. the kit was $250 from unique autosports. well worth it
  10. This dash was a bitch to install. I'd do it again though cos I learnt so much just from playing around. I had to take all the needles off so I lost calibration and spent hours trying to get it right again (thx to my friends Tom and INASNT for driving around with me checking my speed). Anyways here are the pics: Had to cut the boost guage hole out. I dunno why it didn't come pre-cut...everything else was perfectly cut and shaped. Very happy with the final result
  11. boo5t, you were just lucky mate fat313, I know a few roadworthy workshops. As for the rego appointment, I called vicroads and they had a cancellation in just 2 hours. I had to rush to reattach the guages and dash, reconnect the factory BOV and get the car roadworthy. I JUST made it in time but it meant I had the car for the weekend. When I rego'd it, the compliance plates had moved so quickly from printing to my car and to rego that the numbers on it hadn't even been entered into the national database yet. But the guys at the vicroads office were nice and said they'd register it for me and process the paperwork later! Like I said, 4 months of delays then 1 final day of absolute mayhem!! As I cruise to work weaving between the traffic I know it was all worth it Thejackal, that sucks about the battery. It sounds like it was a temporary fix that maybe Craig forgot about before sending you the car?
  12. I received the plate on Thursday night at about 11pm. After 4 months of delays, it took me just a few hours on Friday to get a roadworthy, registration and insurance.
  13. Where abouts along the factory exhaust system is the limiting factor? Which part of the standard R33 exhaust system reduces the most flow? I think it must be the cat right? The reason I'm asking is I'm tempted to upgrade the front half of my exhaust (dump/front and hiflow cat) before I upgrade my cat back system. Is this the wrong way to do it?
  14. Your situation sounds very familiar to mine. I just got my car registered and on-road after a 5 month importing experience. I imported thru J-Spec imports in Melbourne and found their pre-purchase service to be truly excellent. Their info and auction data and communication with me was top-class and I was very happy. Then, after purchasing the car, there were numerous delays throughout every step of the process. Dereg and transport - Delayed. Shipping - very delayed. Customs clearance - Pretty quick. Compliance work - incredibly delayed. Compliance plates - ludicrously delayed. I'd safely assume you wont suffer the same delays I did because the import scene has calmed down a bit after the changes in laws in May.
  15. I'm not really sure Cam, but I believe the bleeder goes just before the boost soleniod. Can someone who actually knows clarifiy this cos I'm just trying to remember what I once read on SDU.
  16. Great thread guys. I'm just starting out and am in the middle of stocking my garage. This list and thread will come in handy. I've got a shitty cheap socket set and I've been playing around under my R33's hood and found the set to be shit. I think a sidchrome set is next on my shopping list.
  17. I haven't heard any mention of SDU closing for non-paying members. There are no announcements on the board saying so.
  18. Nice vids on there! I like: http://www.gtrcentral.com I think it's run by an Aussie...not sure.
  19. We all know that when a public holiday or long weekend comes along the price of petrol at ALL different fuel stations just happens to 'magically' jump up 8-12cents the day before. Well the ACCC has raided the offices of the oil companies Mobil, BP, Shell, etc today to find proof of price fixing. I hope they find the evidence!! Grab the full story here: Click here.
  20. ...with all you other MysFits! Great board guys...good work getting an all-Aussie board online. Well I've just imported my first (of many) Skyline GTS-t and already I have a huge list of mods to do. So I just wanted to say hi to you all here cos over the next few weeks/months/years I'll be relying on your superior knowledge to get me thru the mods I have in mind. Anyways, I recognise a lot of you from SDU and some from my 'home' forum - AusFXP. Grtz
  21. my god! PLEASE post some phots of this...it sounds like a great mod!!
