  1. The fuel is fresh as my sister has been driving the car for the past year. She has also complained about the drop in performance under heavy acceleration. Car has done 100,000ks
  2. Hey guys, I recently was involved in an accident which has taken my evo out of commission, so im back onto driving the skyline and noticed that the car seems to struggle under full throttle. Its very strange, basically if i give 20-50% throttle, it goes harder than if i gave it 80-100% throttle. Off the line, it revs hard till about 4~4.5rpm but then kinda hesistates and struggles to push through the rest of the rpm. My old n/a r33 was much quicker than this r34 is. It takes me 10+ seconds to hit 100ks per hour under full throttle where as my r33 only took about 7.5. So far I have tried changing the coil packs with genuine nissan coilpacks (though im not too sure on their creditbillity as i bought them off ebay), changed the air filter, sprayed maf sensor cleaner on the air flow meter, tried 98 octane fuel and its still running like garbage. Im thinking spark plugs now but not too sure? I checked them when i put the new coilpacks in and they were still in pretty good nic. Also thinking maybe clogged exhaust and or fuel filter? But i dont want to spend too much money on the car only to find its a hit and miss. Also just a side note: Wasnt too sure if this could be related but i also hear a kind of thumping noise when i accelerate, so i put the car in neutral and revved it but i cant repeat it, only happens when under load. The car is 100% stock, no mods what so ever. Recently serviced all fluids including rads, drivetrain, motor etc.. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance
  3. Anyone know how to get the front bar (evo 7) to fit over a Ultra racing front member brace. The brace is bolted up, and theres a bit of clearance between the FMIC and the brace, but for some reason my front bar keeps whacking across the front of the brace. Im starting to think the front brace was made for the 8/9 and not the 7s front bar, since the 7s nose doesnt stick out as far as the 8s or 9s. Not too sure though. If theres no way around it, im going to start hacking off bits Will upload a pic soon Edit: Oh, the dimensions of the brace are similar to that of the cusco braces.
  4. Hahah thanks for the response guys, made me feel better about it. I agree, i let the bloke get under my skin. I come across drivers like that probably once or twice a week (cutting me off, driving 20ks below the limit, on the phone, putting on make up etc...), generally I dont react to it, but this time i just flipped hahaha. Haha ohh just to clarify, i did hit boost...on the streets, but i wasnt speeding the guy was rolling at 20ks per hour on the princess hwy, i passed him at 70ks per hour.
  5. Was driving back home just today after a night out at crown and on the way I stopped at the lights behind this Mercedes (extreme left lane - was taking the next left). When the light turned green the merc did not move at all, so i beeped my horn, the bloke then starts driving very slow (at first i thought he was a slow driver), and then starts beeping his horn at me (not too sure if he was trying to make some rude gesture), so i pull to the right to over take him then he full throttles in an attempt to not let me in, however, considering how my car is significantly more powerful than his little Merc, i dropped a gear, hit boost and overtook him, and while i was doing so i stuck my finger up at the bloke. He was beeping his horn the whole way. I came home feeling absolutely guilty about my actions towards the guy. Should i be feeling so guilty about it?
  6. Oh too easy! Thats everything i wanted to know Cheers for that mate!
  7. Hey guys, just Oced my 4790k to 4.7GHZ which only seems to be stable at a constant voltage set manually rather than one set by an offset. Wondering if this will result in a heavy amounts of power usage?? I couldn't find a straight answer on google, so thought id ask here, im sure theres a few tech savvy people Oh and also, will the constant voltage degrade the chip?? Voltage = 1.28v temps max = 77c during stress test idle - 28-33c During GTA V = 69 c Speedstep is enabled. Cheers guys!
  8. Thanks mate! Yea ill give them a ring too, need all the specialists i can find! Umm yes and no. Although i love the manuals, I wanted to build something a little more unique and the GT-A caught my eye, the taller gear ratios, the ability to tune the transmission via the ecu, and no loss of boost between shifts was a massive win. There arent many (if any) 300awkw evo GT-As around so i thought it would be neat to build one myself. The transmission sadly was the weakest point. That being said though i have considered it, and if converting to manual ends up being cheaper, then ill go for the manual conversion. Still, I'm so curious to see the performance of a GT-A with a built INVEC II tranny.
  9. Thanks man given me some hope!, ill give DTM a call, see what they have to say. The places ive called seem to not want to touch Japanese cars full stop haha. If they do skylines hopefully they'd do evos too! Hahaha yes manual conversion is also an option which i have considered a lot...., so much more fun to drive on weekends! but so irritating driving in bumper to bumper traffic, which is where most of the driving takes place sadly. To convert to a manual ill need the transmission itself, ECU, clutch, flywheel, GSR speedometer cluster, transfer case, gear shift, pedals etc... Then get the new ecu re-flashed, looking at a whole load of cash and time haha. But yea im keen on seeing how a GT-A would do with 250-300awkw. Already beating Manual Evo GSRs with 20+awkw on me hehehe But yea which ever is cheaper, If all else fails then off to Adelaide it goes
  10. Been wanting to strengthen my automatic transmission (change wave springs and weld planetary) in my evo GT-A, however over the past month ive called up numerous transmission specialists, all of which have turned me down because my car is a grey import ==; Seems like if your car isnt a Holden or ford, they wont help ya, unless you are doing something simple like swapping a clutch or servicing the tranny. Anyone know any good places around melbourne?? Ive spoken to my tuner (RTR), and they said they can send the transmission over to Adelaide and get it built (fully manualized for $3000), but thats such a hassle, and i dont really want to spend all that money manulizing the auto, rather just strengthen the weak points of the box(wave springs and planetary). Surely there's someone local that works with JDM transmissions. Guys over at Sydney with the same box managed to strengthen their GT-As for 1.5k Thanks in advance!
  11. http://shop.quaife.co.uk/nissan-skyline-gtr-6-speed-sequential-gearbox Chuck this beast in! Perfect daily/quarter mile monster.
  12. Anything that costs more than 30 bucks per 5L id say
  13. Yea i heard ubisoft tend port games from consoles to PC, then dump a whole load of patches for bug fixes. Personally, i feel the graphics don't justify the amount of resources used. Dont get me wrong, the Graphics are great, but compared to games like tomb raider, battlefield 4, batman etc... assassins creed unity is pretty average.
  14. Haha yea, id hate to imagine the demand of hardware resources when gaming in 4k
  15. Showing i used 4011MB of vram now, never seen a game use so much Vram Atleast now i know my hardware is utilizing the full 4GB
  16. Oh really? The graph didnt show much headroom so thought it maxxed out, probably expands as you it 4gb. Cheers man! OCD over this shiz haha Oh btw, is it normal for a game to use more than 3GB of VRAM? Ive never encountered a game to use soo much on 1080p. Not even far cry 4 used that much. On 4k yea, but not 1080p? Poor porting by ubisoft perhaps?
  17. Been monitoring my gpu usage using msi afterburner, and noticed that while playing assassins creed unity, my GPU memory usage was at 3.3GB, and according to msi afterburner, the GPU has supposedly reached its max memory limit, which cant be right because my GPU is 4GB not 3. Anyone know whats going on?? Specs: i7 4790k GTX 970 8gb 2400mhz ram Asus ROG mobo 1080p monitor 120hz
  18. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/sydney-city/wrecking/skyline-r34-sedan-blitz-nur-spec-exhaust/1047428056 For a sedan though, you could get an exhaust shop to weld to size and fit, shouldnt be that different if you are getting just from the cat back. Will sound good too.
  19. Sorry when i said i bought it for $100, i meant $100 second hand, won on a ebay auction. Its the only reason why i bought it, the system was worth 800 dollars. Any system will drone on an n/a without appropriate mufflers. And no i never got pulled over in my r33. It gave me head aches before i put the silencer in, silencer gave it a nice note Thats probably the best you can ask for in a n/a. Ill add some of my mates and my own past experiences with n/a exhausts (no silencers). Mates r33: 2.5inch cat back exhaust + hotdog reso = droney....no power gains My r33: factory system(incl resonator etc..) with canon tip = droney....lost power Mates r34: 2.5inch cat back exhaust + hotdog reso = droney....gained power? *strange* Mates r34 GT-V with 5Zigen $1500 exhaust = Nice pleasent note...no power gains.
  20. I just saw this! I just bought the Bosch ev14 1000cc injectors for $400 + parts fit for evo this morning . How would they compare to the xpurts? Im fitting a 400lph walbro fuel pump, also need a relay since it draws more volatage than the stock oem fuel pump. Might need to drill the vac generator as you stated. Still yet to buy the pump though... Oh really? Yea ill invest in a dummy connector, probs get one for around 10 bucks
  21. Thanks Mick! Helped a lot, i may as well just buy some bosch id1000s then! Never knew they just plug straight on. PEC australia sell the id1000 bosch injectors, are these the correct ones here?: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1x-New-Genuine-BOSCH-EV14-1000cc-High-Impedance-Fuel-Injector-ID1000-/150783333015? I didnt use their actual site because its rubbish ==; Search function does not work there. Also eBay offered 10% off next purchase so may as well buy some injectors Otherwise, was also thinking these? Though i think they are made by bosch, except with an evo compatibility label slapped on http://www.prospeedracing.com.au/products/Injector-Dynamics-%22-ID1000cc-Injectors-suit-EVO-7%252d9.html 250ish would be nice!
  22. My worst modifying experience would be when i was being bloody ignorant by using only a scissor jack to hold up the car while changing my brake pads. The jack snapped and the car plummeted onto the rotors, luckily my foot wasnt under the car and my expensive brembos didnt take a hit. Since that day i bought 2000KG axel stands and 1800KG hydraulic jack as well as watching countless number of youtube vidz on how to properly jack up a car.
  23. When i had my n/a r33, i got a cat back exhaust system for 100 bucks including canon, cat and hot dog reso. Car droned like a mofo, so i bought a adjustable 4 inch silencer from ebay, and had it partially opened. Worked like a charm, produced a nice tone with minimal to no loss of power. Im assuming the silencer created that "backpressure/increased velocity" that n/a's desperately desire. In fact, im pretty sure it became a little quicker, i started to pull (ever so slowly) on my mates n/a 34 after the exhaust "upgrade". Anyways im just talking from my past experience.
  24. Going for an e85 tune, and found some brand new FIC injectors for a good price, but he states he bought them for a evo 6 and isnt 100% if they fit on the 7 8 or 9, just wondering if theyd fit on a 7? Also is 1450cc injectors too big for an entry level tune? (200-220awkw) Cheers
  25. Haha of course of course, evo demolishing corners is standard i was curious considering that is a lot of power ! A good all rounder evo you have there. Judging by the vid and mods done to this evo, id say 11.7ish in your car
