  1. Got myself an R33 'turn back' ARC intercooler for my S2 Stagea. Has anyone got one like this or similar in their S2 ? Just looks like such a tight fit with the electric fan and small gap for the pipes. If someone has one could they describe it or post some pics please. cheers
  2. I also filled up last week and parked it shortly after, later that day i noticed a puddle behind the RR tyre, but mine was fuel, must have expanded in the sun and gone out the overflow, at first I thought I had a leaky tank. Cant explain the water though, no water sources around there.
  3. I get a strong signal off my factory aerials in the rear and side windows (all bridged together into one at the plug), only thing is they need to be powered, this is usually activated when the factory jap TV tuner is selected. Therefore to use AV2 with the aerials, you would need to supply some power to the small silver boxes in behind the rear panels. (signal amplifiers maybe ??)
  4. I asked 3 different sellers in the UK, also a PAL and DVB-T area, about the same digital box, this one: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Car-Freeview-Digita...oQQcmdZViewItem and they all stated that it will work on my NTSC screen. However, the same looking product on this page, 1/3 way down, (DVBT-CAR ) http://www.threedoubleyou.com/car-tuner.htm states that there are 2 different versions, one that outputs PAL and one NTSC, please specify when you buy. Im keen to try one of these and replace my bulky tuner and converter box into this small unit which I hope will give me a more stable picture when im moving.
  5. There are actually 2 different part #s for the stagea heater core and 2 for the Series 2 R33, prob slight difference for colder areas, eg bigger core. I would be 99% sure that they are interchangable and the Z32 would be same. also this link: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NISSAN-300ZX,-Z32-N...9QQcmdZViewItem
  6. I bought this one (300zx) from here when i replaced my R33 core, just changed the hose connections over. FAST says that the Stagea core is same as the R33 core, 27140-0E010, the core seems to be universal on a few models, compare the picture with yours. http://www.ttzed.com/products/products_det...=&do=detail Why the F%#@ didnt Nissan make the core more accessible, instead of having to dismantle half the car, they usually go around the 8 yr mark, looking forward to killing 3 days of my life soon.
  7. It feels the same, no change for normal driving, just nice to know its there if ever its required, and good thing about the helical is that there is nothing to wear out like viscous and mechanical. Pretty hard to break traction with the 4wd, have to wait for some slippery conditions ie snow in Brisbane. Bought it on Yahoo Auctions Japan (japanese wife) cost about $150+100 freight. Installed for $200 at Diff lapping in Brisbane.
  8. Just to confirm to the S2 Auto owners (not S1), the S15 Helical LSD bolts straight in, uses same shafts etc. Fitted yesterday.
  9. I read the user manual, and its difficult to know if it converts PAL into NTSC or simply it can handle PAL and NTSC inputs and output the same. You could try contacting the seller, might be able to help.
  10. plenty for sale on yahoo auctions japan, through http://www.slidewizeimports.com , select stagea c34 + air con eg http://page19.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x18711156
  11. Im going an ARC FMIC using stock pipes, there are 2 which I think will fit, the R34 (M073ER34F06) and R33(M073ER33FM06) one. Both available from NENGUN. http://www.arcinter.co.jp/arc/products/int...nissan/er34.pdf http://www.arcinter.co.jp/arc/products/int...issan/ecr33.pdf http://www.arcinter.co.jp/arc/products/int...ont/nissan.html the R34 has a return pipe on the rear and the R33 return is on the bottom, also the R34 is 600mm long compared to 470mm for the R33. Hopefully the pipes and brackets wont need too much work to align them, if anyone has fitted these to their Stagea please inform us.
  12. youll just have to compare the plug with the back of your Navi unit, you would think they would not make different wiring harnesses but rather adapt the unit, so my guess is it would work..
  13. Here is a pic of the standard air con wiring plug for the Stagea, couldnt find a pic of the NAVI unit one, and dont feel like pulling mine out tonight, so compare the plugs. Might also need to consider the surround and brackets.
  14. these should get you started, all make similar camber pins (eccentric bolts), im about to buy some, looking towards the Noltecs as they claim to be softer than the usual nolathane bushes, which can be harsh http://www.nolathane.com.au/ http://www.superpro.com.au/ http://www.whiteline.com.au/ http://www.noltecsuspension.com/
  15. Use only Nissan Matic-D or better still, Castrol synthetic Transmax Z (matic D approved) ...from Nissan manual: "Nissan Matic D is strongly requested because high torque is applied to transfer unit." I wouldnt just use any ATF fluid.
  16. My S2 upgrade consisted of R34 Gtt brakes, front and back, only difference from the R33 GTSt is that the front rotors are larger at 310mm, fitted nicely under the stock rims, about 3mm to spare. Front calipers also have longer mounts. DBA R34Gtt Rotors, R34Gtt wreckers calipers(rebuilt),R32 GTR goodridge stainless/teflon brake hoses and MINTEX Xtreme pads. All work perfect
  17. Has anyone with an Auto R34 or S2 Stagea experienced and diagnosed a faint fluttering noise coming from their tranny tunnel which sounds like a noisy PC fan ? Seems to be loudest around 40km/h in both D and N and only when it has warmed up. thanks
  18. So how do I get the fault codes from my R34 box, plenty of info about getting it from an R33 box (involving the OD button) which we dont have on R34/S2 Stagea ? Im getting the A/T light flashing approx 6 times sometimes when i start car..
  19. Some stageas including mine,(referred to as 'cold area' in Nissan FAST, probably those sold north of Tokyo) have heater strips at bottom of windscreen to prevent the wipers icing to the windscreen (also heated side mirrors and possibly larger battery for cranking), not sure if the heater strips are part of the glass or behind it. Operated by the switch shown in photo.
  20. thanks, great info.
  21. The Apexi Hybrid was a fantastic looking intercooler, but looks like they stopped making them a while ago, had one on my R33, it was my first choice for the stagea, but I want a brand newy.
  22. Whats the part # or model of the greddy ? havnt seen any reference to this one ?
  23. thanks guys, i was considering the Blitz LM as well, but like the simplicity of the piping on the ARC. How about air flow to the S2 FMIC ? is it an issue ? FLYSLY, which ARC did you install, R33 (return pipe on bottom, 470mm) or R34 (return pipe behind, 600mm), and did you have to remount the oil cooler, fan etc ? and any modifications to the supplied pipes?
  24. I would like some advice from some S2 owners or any experts out there. Im looking to upgrade my factory S2/R34gtt SMIC to cope with my mods and the Brisbane heat. As you know there are not many bolt on options out there for S2s, and the S2 bumper does not allow much air flow to a FMIC. Im looking at an R33 ARC 'turn back' FMIC, which uses the factory pipe holes, see photo. It is slightly smaller, 470mm long, compared with 600 for most FMICs. Has anyone sucesssfully installed a 'turn back' FMIC on a S2 ? if so, what mods and brand ? and any other advice please.
  25. I got mine done, mildest shift kit, 'stage 1' i think, slight jerk from 1st to 2nd, other gears are smooth and very quick. Plenty of topics talking about MVs shift kits with prices. Sent mine to MV, he modified it, sent it back around 3 days later, installed myself, quite a messy job, best given to a workshop to install.
