Ska replied to Iron Chef's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers

Then count me IN! That time frame is do-able Yeah the red one, if I had to choose between a squarish finish or the pointed one, the pointed one wins every time, much neater look. HURRY HURRY HURRY! Buy your stocker wings, get them while they are HOT!

Yeah new job is great, meeting after meeting about organisint meetings, oh and the daily programmers "brainstorming session" (aka hacky sack out the front) is good But yeah the roads here in rocky are SHOCKING! Soooooo glad that the stagea was raised before we came up here!! Yeah I had one truck, Aussie Post, overtake me, plus a B Double on a double line blind corner I wasnt that keen and could wait the 2kms till the overtaking lane, and even then I caught him when he got stuck behind some more traffic. But yeah Rocky overall is great, saw the funniest thing too, a L car, like a driving instructors car, which is a lancer, with an evo kit, with a huge zaust and what sounded like a sneeze. Man that has to suck trying to learn how to drive with boost and all.... meh each to their own. I have seen 3 or 4 skylines up here, a black sedan with HUGE decals down the side, which actually looks neat, oh and saw an AwEsOmE R34 bright yellow with a HUGE kit and MASSIVE drift wing, looked sweet. Bad thing is I have been told there are no "real" performance workshops here in rocky or 4wd dyno's, Bundy is the closest, so if the need arises I'll be coming back down to brissie to mercury for tunes and the like. Anyway got a meeting to go to

Can The Speed Limiter Be Bridged Out/isolated
Ska replied to oxford1327's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
No I think Rockhampton has the crappiest roads in Australia! But yeah the only decent road I would trust to go over the 140kph for lengthy periods of time would be the new section of the M1, from Beenleigh to Nerang, other than that the national highway is a joke compared to other contries I've driven in. Mainly because Australia's population is so sparse I beleieve there just isnt the funding to keep them in the condition they should be. Although Canada relatively has the same population, maybe a couple of million more, and they have some great road infrastructure. Anyway I have tottally gone off topic and am ranting like an old man.... back in my day............ Back on topic now. -
Not a problem, I cant really do any work on mine till the weekend anyway, thanks heaps!
-
Alex you know I'm very very very interested, but because of the move and the new job, I definatly wont be in the position to pay for one for a while. What time frames are we looking at for these? And will they be available at a later stage? Also if this has turned from an EOI to a group buy, can I move it to the group buy section?

Thanks everyone, now that I am living in a house instead of a motel I'll give all those a go. Wierd thing about the boosting Revhead is that the boost never goes above 1.1 Bar, which is good and bad. Good because it's not going over that, bad because I dont want a dead turbo. But also doesnt that sort of say that it isnt "free boosting" which kinda leads to there is something holding the boost, but what and where......... ? Anyway Umm brad if you could PM me some of the picks of your setup with the key, that would be fan freakin tastic eh, I dont want to be in the position where I cant get the key out! All the other things will have to wait until all our stuff arrives from storage, to get my HUGE toolset (it's like one of those small 24 piece ktis from supercheap)
-
Yeah there is a guy in Brissie with a non turbo rwd stagea....... be like driving a NA R33 sedan I guess...?

More like this: Local falcondore V8 HSV at red light, looks across, rummmmba rummmmba, Cy looks across and smiles, and bring rpm's up to ~5k, lights go green, local takes off in a fury of rpm's smoke and squeeling tyres, whilst Cy lowers the rpm's and takes off nice and smoothly, meanwhile poor local boy racer gets booked by the copper down the road which Cy passed about 10 times whilst driving all over rocky, looking at houses It really is not too bad a town, it's like a small town, that hasnt realised that it has a population of a big town. Had a fun trip up though, man there are some crazy mofo truck drivers out there!

Right well after the move I have several issues that I'd like to get sorted out, but dont really want to take her to any mechs up here until I at least have some sort of go at fixing them, and because I dont know of any reputable workshops here in Rocky, yet. Now of those who dont know, a bit of history. December 20th the car was put off the road and was repaired and handed back to me on March 31st. Heaps of underbody parts were replaced with brand new replacements and the chassie rail was repaired and the passenger side panels were repaired and resprayed. She spent 98% of the time off the road, at the panel beaters shop, with most of the repairs done by the workshop in a very timely, efficient manner. I recently moved from Brisbane to Rockhampton and since I have had her back I have found these few issues, any help and/or advise would be greatly appreciated! 1. I have a Greddy Profec B EBC, it is set to lowest for both high and low settings. When you turn it off you should only get stock (wastegate) boost, (right??). I have a turbo timer that doubles as a boost guage, which reads in Bar. Now the issue is that even with the EBC set at the lowest and/or turned off, I still boost to between 0.9 and 1.16 BAR of boost , WHAT THE? Of course I only hit this when under heavy use of the accelerator, but still, I dont want it boosting anywhere near that at all. So the EBC isnt working, so turned it off and got the same result? Tried checking that all the hoses were connected up fine, and took off a couple and checked for leaks, to see if that was causing it, nope, all the hoses were fine? I checked to see that the boost controller box wires are hooked up... any suggestions? 2. Just in the last couple of days my front passengers side window gets stuck 3/4 of the way down, it just stops? 3. I have an "issue" with my ignition barrel sometimes not letting the key go, it just does not return to the lock position, but travels fine through all the other positions, (accessories, start, etc). Sometimes it takes 4 to 5 goes to get the key out and I am deathly afraid that one time it just wont come out....... so is it possible to just get another barrell and replace it, or is it worth going to a locksmith...? 4. The rear wiper does not work, the previous owner said that it just needs to be hooked up under the inside plastic cowling, but when I tried to get it off, removed the couple of srews and pried and pulled until I thought I was going to break the plastic so gave up, anyone had that plastic cover on the inside door off before? Also the rear sprayer does not work, well when I try to use it from the left hand stalk on the steering column, I dont hear anything and not water comes out of it, so I'm thinking that was either unplugged at sometime as well.....? 5. Anyone had any good/bad experiances with workshops in Rockhampton at all, please keep it out of here and in PM's to me. I dont want to start another workshop bashing thread. 6. I have a GFB Stealth BOV, which wakes the dead when it vents. Am I able to safely change it from the current position, (75% vent to atmo) to 100% venting to plumback? I know there will still be some noise from the vent in the intake, but it has to be quieter than it currently is. I am dreading the day I am next to a police car, as at the moment everytime I change gears it's like she is screaming out, "DEFECT ME PLEASE!". Also my replies might be few and far between atm, no net access yet at home, and dont really have time at my new work, so if it takes me a day or two to reply, I'm just busy Thanks guys, Cy

Can The Speed Limiter Be Bridged Out/isolated
Ska replied to oxford1327's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
PowerFC = no speed limiter, still the fastest I've had her is only about 130-140kph, obviously on private roads, as I dont see the point in taking a road car beyond that, I dont have a deathwish, not stating you guys do, but most QLD roads just arent built to allow a car to travel at those speeds safely, they are just not smooth enough in my opinion to safely travell at 150kph+ speeds for lengthy amount of times, well my opinion! -
Well I'm here and it's been fun. I'll be calling the local chiropractors, as we must be giving them all a boom in clients, everyone seems not to notice until she sneezes and then thier necks snap around to look Just found a house so hopefully in the next week I will be getting ADSL hooked up at home.
-
Yeah the day before I came up here I had Mercury do a "highway cruise" tune and they did an excellent job eh, there is a tiny issue with it but considering the fuel economy I get while cruising at ~100kph I am more than happy with the results. Just goes to show what the pfc is capable of for future tunes.

Yeah there is a company that supplies units to the gold coast lifsavers for thier equipment they run on the beach to prevent rust in them. Apparently they work by putting a special current through the metal and it keeps away rust...? Dont really know if they work or not?
-
On the way from Brisbane to Rockhampton got the following figures: 420kms out of 52.72 ltrs (half town, half highway) 315kms out of 35.16ltrs (All highway) And man-o-man the rockhamptonites must be getting sore necks by now....... It's like they have never seen a wagon that sneezes
