  1. I had to cringe when I got a wiff of your rollies. Seriously though, how good is it, WTAC would have to be the only event where you can lung darts in the hot side of pit row?
  2. what do you want to use the car for predominantly, and what does it weigh?
  3. There was 5 announcers I think? So I'm uncertain who the main culprit of the screaming was but quite sure it wasn't my guy. He was however the non-kiwi dude announcing the drift, but I always thought drift crowds responded better to US style hype? lol I'm not trying to defend anyone, get that straight, but I'm keen for them to sort the issues for next year. The assault of noise was probably the most draining part of the entire weekend. Like I said earlier, it was either too quiet to hear, or FAR TOO LOUD. There is enough noise from cars on track, so to my mind there is no need for guys like MM to be asked to rev the shit out of there car every half hour to "pump up the crowd". It's Time Attack, not Auto Salon. Onto good things, the highlight for me again this year once again was the crowd. The vast majority of the demographic was of high quality people, far removed from your typical V8SC meet. People were well behaved and respectful, to a point where we didn't feel the need to rope the pit area off. well done I say I hope it stays like that.
  4. One of the announcers is a great mate of mine and is accomplished, but I feel they lacked a little direction upon exactly what was required of them. I also think it's hard for them to know how it sounds from inside the booth? Last year people whined that they didn't know the times, this year it's that the times were too loud. I think the appalling pa system is mostly to blame, because in some spots it was far too loud, and in others ya couldn't hear shit. I think a few big screens showing sectors, top speeds, and lap times would be money well spent. Then the announcers could chill a little.
  5. Nicely done and congrats on overcoming your dramas Steve! I walked down to turn 12 for a gander and was lucky enough to see your car circulating. It sounded and looked absolutely fantastic, I had no idea it wasn't exactly how you wanted! It was squatting something fierce in the rear end coming onto the straight, which added to it's look of fast
  6. It was quite quick, but, oh my, the noise.......
  7. Yeah I think comparing the times to Porsche race car times is a moot point personally.
  8. AND? Those guys did a Great job too, and much praise has been heaped upon them as well
  9. Ahhh, my bad. Regardless, good show! So...... now that's over..... ummmmm, Tsukuba?
  10. Echoing everyone's congrats for a job well done guys! Superb effort for a first time out and a crew essentially "new" to this form of racing. Not too shabby either Mark, only a second or so off the Great Man's pace! Nice to speak with you (albeit breifly) very late saturday night too crew Here's my favourite pic that I took of your car..... kind of sums up the "team" aspect of WTAC, it's the part of it that I enjoy the most.
  11. Unfortunately it comprehensively shat itself on the thursday practice.
  12. The Porsches have similar weight, about half the horsepower, and controlled aero...... They do use slicks, but an R comp has a window where it has every bit of the grip of a slick tyre.
  13. I want a car that sounds like Mad Mike's RX7, but with the reliability of an RB20!
  14. If your R32 was with you wouldn't it get even more interest????
  15. I'll just bring mine... it's great. haha
  16. I had a good time, right until Berry's car was dropped off the airjacks without warning while I was closing the bonnet..... my foot is rooted (crushed under front splitter). It's especially sore now I'm sober. How's yours Baron?
  17. There'll be a million pics mate. Last year I managed to secure a spot on the friday prior (practice) and enjoyed some good door to door dicing with the Group A cars Was great fun, lots of smiles. But as is the usual with my luck, the memory card was full during the best session.
  18. FWIW I'm not rough as guts like some, AND I use a JJR kit on my race car, AND I didn't resort to dodgy thread tape usage. I simply assembled it correctly and carefully, and it's fine. I also found the line length ok, but I did mount my remote filter behind the driver side tower I did however find a large piece of alloy swarf inside a dash fitting. Not so good.
  19. My last post was bad info. Disregard.
  20. Minor fire it seems. Looks like someone left a rag in the engine bay?
  21. Savman, yes. Berry's is diff because elected to also do the underbody work. The s13 runs that as a bandaid. The aero guy is do cool, understated ex Williams F1 dude
  22. Scorch just baulked berry's flyer badly.... Dang
  23. Pro class headin out now
  24. We're re corner weighting the 34, altering ride height and throwing some rubber on it now. Unfortunately there's just been a huge oil down that will kill the track for a while. We're all very happy with it so far though, 32's aren't bad straight off the trailer, completely untested
  25. Enjoy your flight mate! 6:30am and I'm in the pits
