Vu at DT Panels is looking after the beast (well, stock as a rock, meh... ) i've got till bout Tuesday to decide on a colour... i'm getting a lot of ppl say Matte and Satin black... i started a thread before about it and the idea was shot down. Not that is the be all and end all, but i'm wondering why the change of ppl's minds? I must admit, i have seen FnF 2 or 3, did i miss something from those movies? hmmm... decisions, decisions...

oh yeah, doesn't have the sharp edges of the Nismo... Tosh got it yeah, just had a few vents added, i don't like how it's TV2 for the whole bumper though, including the lower lip

hey all car's getting a respray at the moment, still got a few days to decide on what colour to do the car. Factory Nissan R34 black at the moment, but they asked if i wanted to add any pearls, extra metallic chips, mica, etc... i wasn't really sure. I was keen on a silver pearl but the guy said it doesn't really show up much on a black car. So just wondering for those that have had a black respray, did you just go a Nissan black, or did you add some pearls? extra chips/flakes? Anyone with pictures specifically I'm very keen to see some examples of Black with Silver pearl if anyone of you have a ride like that. I like the idea of silver pearl, but don't want to waste $200 for something i can't see. cheers! daniel

i guess the extra $200 isn't in extra equipment then, must take a fair bit more time to add extra metallic/pearl in. I thought metallic/mica would just be mixed in and sprayed as per normal? i can understand extra work with pearls but flakes?? ok ppl's, car is in, Vu said i've got till tuesday/wednesday to decided on colour. will try and make a trip to subaru to check out the black you guys are raving on about, and maybe even get a paint code. Might also have a squiz at BMW (work above Kingsway BMW) i'm very keen to see a black car with silver pearl/silver chips/flakes whatever you want to call it. Vu (guy at DT Panels) said it's hard to see on a black car, so it might not be worth the extra $200, but i'd still like to see it anyway. Anyone know of any examples? willing to drive round a little to have a look... that auto-salon type pic looks super sparkly, don't think i really want something like that. I don't mind metallic, but that looks like adding a million 5 cent pieces EDIT: What about black with WHITE pearl? if silver doesn't show, white might? or is that just a silly idea?

yeah, that is an option. i started a thread about Matte black, turned out to be massive, and general consensus was no, unless you do a satin black, which is slightly glossy. Be a bitch to keep clean though, and i don't think i'm game enough to do it, only to find i don't like it i still think you need metallic? i think... would a 0% paint job just be where someone hasn't ticked the 'metallic' option box on a new car??

budget is fairly tight, so we'll see how it goes. I might just add more metallic chips. How much you get em for ni? might pop down to subaru in mentone on the weeked and have a look at the black, sounds interesting not sure about green though is the nissan clear coat thing just a gimmick? does it really work and what $$ are we talking?

sup guys'n'gals fateful decision on workshop has been made, now just time for the action to start... Getting a respray, keeping it factory black but the guy asked if i wanted to play around with the paint a bit? pearls etc... Some options: black with..... orange, blue, silver, or purple pearl... Or just add some more metallic chips into the paint. The standard factory black doesn't seem too metallicy? I've always liked the idea of black with a silver pearl, get that kinda carbon type thing going but he said it doesn't really show up much. I'm not going to spend an extra $300 for something not to show, plus it makes it harder to match if i need to do anything with the car in future.. thoughts anyone? and better yet, photographic examples of blacks with pearls?? cheers big ears chinny

is it just me or has the TV2 GTR just above had it's bootlid resprayed?? Anywho, get the purple one!!! pure sex colour... not that fussed on the wheels, but you'd get a real good price for em so you could change to another set of 18" of your choice. J-spec also allow $3.5k for compliance. Workshop i got my R34 GT-T complianced in sydney (with GTR approval as well) can do it for $1.3K cheaper than that, so it's a $64.7K midnight purple, V-Spec the "shark gills" are V-Spec 2 front bumpers i think?? No, wait... i i think it's a Nismo front bumper?

are they Xenon's or just blue angle eyes?

i got mine within a few days of payment, no 'thanks for payment" though just turned up, 3-4 days after given the Net transfer a couple days. just think about that little bit of petrol you're saving

man, the dreaded R34 coilpacks strike again, these things break just looking at them the wrong way! i got split fires, problem solved. Got some NGK Iridiums as well from kudos motorsports, not sure of the exact model. But yeah, you can't gap iridiums but i'm almost 100% sure they aren't less than 1.0mm, they're 1.0mm +, that was recommended to me (no power mods at all) a set of splitfires is about the same price as a set of brand new packs from Nissan, so it's a bit of a no-brainer if you can't go the DIY fix (epoxy/tape)

256kw's from 3.2ltr, straight 6... that is high-strung... but damn, what an engine. S60 i think is the engine name. But as other people have said, it's not all about power. And BMW haven't not been massive power players till recently. They're very driver focused, so braking/handling are just as important as the ponies. The E30 was a 4 cylinder! Only the last 2 M3's have been 6 cylinders, and the new M3 isn't rumoured to be V8, they WILL be V8. Released 2008 and orders have already been placed for them, some people just can't help having the newest thing. It will be awesome, no doubts. It will have to be as the 335i will be pretty much as quick as the current E46 M3, bout 5.6 0 - 100, 220'ish kw's. They'll be here in October i believe, they're gone already, another lot coming March 2007, my old man is getting it then (you'll have to check it out one day Marcus ) I've got an R34 GT-T, so i'll let you know how it stacks up against the '07 335i when it arrives. I think it's a little unfair to write off a car based on a 200,000km example serviced only every 20K km's, which is quite infrequent for a performance car.

i think it's a good idea. What do you mean but Admins don't support it? Not having a go, just wondering what the specifics about a for sale section that the admins/moderators don't want? It can't be that resource heavy can it? if someone volunteered to be moderator for it, would that make a difference?
